My goodness. I remember buying Zombiestrike like... almost everytime, they always have that sense of style that just cool to a 14 year old like i was. Now it's just... damn man
I got into Nerf just when the Zombiestrike line was starting, my goodness this thing is ugly and cheap-looking in comparison.
My main issue with Zombie is that with Zombie Strike, we got all these cool molded details like pliers, screwdrivers, bike chains, and barbed wire to make these blasters look thrown together. And these blaster skins just aren’t the same. There’s so much going on with this blaster, it just looks too busy.
I feel like the best way I can describe the new Zombie line is that it's like a Free To Play mobile phone version of Zombie Strike. Heck it's more akin to one of those awful F2P "temple run but instead of it being temple run its [insert franchise being marketed here]"
Once again, no one gives better advertisements for their competitors than Nerf. The outlaw only costs like 5 dollars more, dumps on it performance wise and fires half lengths, there is no reason to buy this blaster when there are way better options for around the same price point.
They took away the "strike" because you ain't hitting nothing with it and they didn't want to get in trouble for false advertising /s

You can still buy a trailblazer. I modded mine to rearload short darts. It’s a pretty decent blaster. Hammershot/Sweet Revenge are still the GOAT.
Only way you can really defend the lack of triggerguard is... drills don't have a button guard typically.
It was said that the current CEO wants to make toys way more cheaper and weak quality. Plus that they want to make hasbro into a gaming company...he is not the right person to run a toy company man
And of course, that approach has worked so well and made Hasbro so much money... Oh wait, no it hasn't. But have they learned from their mistakes? Of course not, they're doubling or tripling down, completely unwilling to admit any mistakes. It's a death spiral.
MBAs are the death of basically everything they touch. Just look at what the same kind of people have done at the likes of Boeing where their mindset has much more dramatic consequences.

you know what strikes me as odd? This new blaster looks familiar in some way. Back when Zombie Strike was still alive, the boxart often showed blasters that weren't released yet. I remember one of those looked a lot like a power drill, but it never showed up on shelves. I think that design showed up on the boxart a year or two before elite 2.0 was released. Could the driller have been an old design that got shelved way back then, and is only seeing the light of day now? I don't know, but I find it weird.
Thing is the blaster looks like a drill but the print hides it. It could have been another cool looking cobbled together style but nope.
Hasbro is a business, it makes products to sell. Income needs to exceed total expenditure. All the calculations for a product are worked out months in advance, from initial design, prototyping, testing, contacts with suppliers, setting up manufacturing processes and machinery etc. But things can change both locally and globally. Costs go up, market conditions change, profits go down. Cutting costs and charging more money is often a necessity, even if consumers don't like it or understand the reasons.
Cut that muzzle device and the bottom of the grip,sand it smooth and repaint it and it might look halfway decent

Get the feeling nerf is in a slump ATM, real life situations can often have impact in the sales of toy guns. Xshot also seems to be doing really well in terms of shelf space, so maybe they're trying to copy their approach as an experiment (they tend to print lavish designs)

Hasbro corporatization and being shackled to shareholders has been their downfall, the other companies on the market have a much better understanding of their customers these days
Ironically, the shareholders have not been getting good returns out of Hasbruh either, yet they still haven't told the board to change course.

The Xshot skins print matches up beautifully so its a shame Hasbro couldn't get the same quality of print.

I was considering buying this when i saw it on a store shelf but then realized that there wasn’t a trigger guard for me to spin it like a revolver (stupidly lmao)

But the outlaw was designed to be a competition blaster, and this was designed to be a toy.
I agree that this is far inferior to...basically any of the hammer-primed options out there. But I also don't think it needs to be better than any of those. At the end of the day, it needs to be a toy that a kid can enjoy. If it also happens to be a toy adults can enjoy, that's awesome, but it doesn't need to be.
I wouldnt have picked that ad campaign to endorse, but if you were trying to help people get off nicotine, its not so bad

Its a shame that Hasbro, which used to make high quality blasters, is now making cheap garbage, while the old cheapo brands like Adventure Force are not making high quality blasters like their Pro line

The TMNT (Sweet Revenge) was just 8.50 on Amazon a couple of DAYS ago. back up to 15, but still available. And the Fortnite is just a buck and a half more.
I wasn't offended about the ad-read, I just think Fum is snakeoil, but that could just be my bias against products sponsored by UA-camrs (no offense).

It's a bummer this doesn't have a bit better build quality, because I actually do quite like the shell of it in general shape. I think it's fun and could paint up nice. The skin is just boring and uninteresting, and the shell is so thin...Man, it's disappointing.
Also, I must have somehow missed you were building a new studio, that makes sense. I was surprised I hadn't seen the room and yard I got used to seeing you in since like...wow, the X-Shot Longshot video I think? But you've moved between that and the other yard with the fancy pool before. Hope the new studio build is going smoothly!

I agree with you, loved the Zombie Strike line, and didn't think Hasbro could sink lower with money grabs, but sadly, I was wrong. Like you said, not that it's truly bad, it's just greatly disappointing. I don't know what to expect from Hasbro in the future, but hope it gets better because I want to like their stuff!

Honestly it's to me not the fact you accept sponserships(these are very understandable) but it's more what, i feel like a good phone game is all well and good or like other nerf companies(think like what out of darts did with captain xavier with the k26 springs)

with many good and famous nerf blasters being out of production many years ago and new blasters mostly being kinda crappy, Dart zone and x shot are way better options.
Literally just recommended to someone to buy the TMNT revolver over this blaster. It cost less than this blaster and is more compact. :\
