As the plants in the river bank grew they really choked out the overhead lights...it was definitely time to add the new lights on there. 😊

Surprisingly my local fish store (hour away) seemed very interested in the eggs. Also another store where the owner watches the channel would like to raise up a pair as store mascots in a large aquarium which I think is really cool! 😊

The 4500 Rio Xingu has never looked better thanks to the lighting and new lens, wow! I am so excited to see the scapes you have in mind for the new tanks. You may need to separate those sharks since they keep laying eggs or pretty soon you'll have to build another new addition to your house to put in Predator Ocean 100,000 LOL. As you know I’ve been following a while and me and you have the odd message back and forth. I always said this channel is underrated and 10000x better than the big hitters. Joey king of diy has done a 16ft river tank and it’s actually pathetic. The scaping is hideous. Looks like a 5 year old scaped it.
I think the big guns know about this channel now and they are taking ideas of you. Honestly I think this is the best aquarium channel on UA-cam.

I did see one of the videos Joey released when making his 16 footer tank where in lieu of fiberglass he used wood bracing on the seams, basically turning 1 joint into 2 joints...didn't quite understand the logic on that one...but what do I know. 😊
I am looking forward to the future of this channel because I am going to add a wrinkle to what I do that I believe people will really enjoy.

Yeah it did! 😊 The additional lights are more of the same 6000k led floodlights that I am using to light the river bank.

I am partial to Predatory Bay 3000 too, feels better to describe the tank by swimming area over total water volume.
4500 is looking amazing! I know there's no going back now, but it's too bad that the ceiling wasn't higher for those plants. Seems like they got up there so fast!😅
That wouldn't be possible as there is a deck on the roof above the annex...so it has to match up with the second story of the house 😊

Predator Bay 3000 2.0! I seldom include the water I have in my filters. Like, my 210 is a 210, not a 250 with the sump (back when I had a sump).
Agreed, I don't want to add in the filter water volume, I think I will just cover Predator Bay and the Mangrove Estuary each as a unique tank...even though they are connected systems.
Borneo waterfall tank for the remaining 1200? Rocks, cascade, a bunch of Buces in the waterfall, strong flow, some loaches and gobies, that kind of thing!

New lighting plus filter gave amazing results! As for names, I don’t see why you need a number in the name at all, but if you do, I would lean towards using the volume of swimming space available to the fish, not the volume of the system.
Yeah that was a long overdue upgrade...once the river bank plants took off they blocked a lot of light...so it was time. 😊

Can I recommend a microphone you echo alot in the big rooms. I love your videos though and watch everyone your aquariums are the best on UA-cam and I watch them all.
I actually have a high-end camera mounted mic, but I often forget to flip the little switch for when I am in front of the camera...so frustrating lol 😊

Yeah, I spoke about it in a video a while back that I am going to add some closed loop water movement to the tank, have the pumps, but haven't set them up yet. 😊

I'm thinking call it Predator Bay 3000 or 2.0 for the short term while I transition from the old Predator Bay then over time just call it Predator Bay once the old tank is redone with new fish. 😊
7:46 I would go with total water volume, sump included. Q: How many water changes has the big Annex tank had since it went operational with fish ?
Just curious how long that much water volume lasts before it goes fowl.
No water changes so far on the 4500 gallon, only top off for evaporation. So far the water quality is perfect. 😊 It does have a massive bog filter and river bank full of plants...so I I fully expect it to keep up with the current fish load no problem.

Thanks! Not sure on the food bill as I buy in bulk when food is on sale, but the marine sharks and the fish in the 4500 are the expensive ones to feed. Plus it is going to get worse with the Stingray and more marine sharks coming in the near future 😊😊

Sucks that your sump is leaking more and more. Sometimes we have these unforeseen events happen that really throw a wrench in the progress of things. I would suggest draining the sump and finding source of leak and at least use something like gorilla underwater tape to put a patch on it until you actually fix it. That's how I got by with a leaking bulkhead on my 300. Lasted like 9 months until I completely overhauled the tank. I applied under water. I was shocked that it actually worked. Its sold right next to flex seal tape but made by gorilla and actually works. $11 or so.
Yeah never a good time for a leaky sump 😊 There was originally one leak, then two, I have patched them liner seam tape but new leaks seem to keep appearing...I am pretty sure it is the plant roots just growing right through the crappy liner.

How on earth are you getting fish out of the estuary tank when you need to? With the dimensions I would think it would be insanely difficult to remove fish.
Should be the easiest tank to catch fish that I have...same depth as my other tanks 3-4 ft but not nearly as deep front to back. I do also have a bunch of big nets 😊😊
Do you use pressure treated lumber on the base when in contact with cement basement floor?
Typically no, but I do seal the concrete with epoxy "garage" floor paint before building the tank...so no direct wood to concrete exposure. That said with modern treated lumber not using the harsh chemicals they used to use, they could be used inside now a days if you wanted to use it.

This is very simple. Predator Bay 3000 and the Estuary are different tanks even though the are connected. I believe that you enjoy the Amazon tank but you don't love it as much as your monsters. For the sake of the fish I think the Amazon tank should be in front of the door so you have to look at it first. Just my opinion and you will make the right choice.
I think that is the way to go....heck if the Mangrove Estuary is even half as cool as the mental picture I have of it..it deserves to be its own tank and not just a filter. 😊

For the other 1200, I dont know what you have already. While I follow the channel, I don't memorize that sort of thing. You said you have an eel in a sump? If it's a fire eel or one of those bigger type species, maybe do a tank specific to Asia? Or maybe do a native American tank to represent both North and South American species in the same general location.
The Eel is a marine eel (Jeweled Moray) in the refugium sump on the 1500 gallon system. Lot's of love for a native American species tank 😊
I would just go with predator bay tank and the mangrove tank no need for numbers
I had originally stuck the 3000 on there differentiate it from the current Predator Bay (1800 gallon), but I guess given time the number would lose its meaning.
