  • Fishing 411 Host Mark Romanack and Yakima Bait pro staffer Josh Crabtree target steelhead using some unorthodox methods in Michigan’s Kalamazoo River. Because the Kalamazoo River is slower moving, more turbid and laden with downed timber, back-trolling plugs isn’t possible in many stretches. Romanack and Crabtree use a combination of traditional back-trolling methods, but also think outside the box by incorporating Off Shore Tackle in-line planer boards and traditional trolling methods to target boat loads of amazing steelhead. The pair also makes some interesting modifications to their plugs that help generate more strikes and put bonus fish in the boat.
