Milly looks like a very cagey & experienced Marshal of France!

Great video - I'm still learning the rules myself - but if you defeat an enemy in close combat I think there is a 50/50 chance the winner also can suffer a DISR if Inf and 1 DISR if cav

@@CreakyGamersHistorical The French victors (both by upset and on final factors) ended up on 12, an even score and take no Disr - so you got it right.

Hiya, the strength of these rules is the player interaction and interrupts - which is hard to do solo, but your choices outline the sensible options. (even if I was yelling to Bombard those Ruskies before charging them!!)
Some small points, the jaeger near the center _may_ have wheeled into Near of the French unit that charged earlier, thus slowing it - but the camera may be playing with depth perceptions and you may well have ended in the right place.
When the two Russian units shot at the enemy in the BUA, strictly you roll for all the hits before rolling for all the conversions to DISR, even our experienced players (including me) forget this, and nine times out of ten it's not relevant - but it can be when units have a choice of targets.
The rule stops you choosing a target having already seen how damaged it was by the first lot of shooting.
As a general thing, you don't tend to get analysis paralysis as the risk and reward of the choices become pretty obvious after a bit of experience. And sometimes there are no good choices, only less bad ones which can make for a fun game.

Good stuff , thanks for the feedback , yes I think you are correct , I wheeled the Jaeger too far when they were "Near the enemy" good catch , I didn't see it at the time .
Declaring all volley fire first is a good idea , and the working from one side to the other.
Apologies for the poor tactics , I should have bombarded before the assault , but I was concerned about how close the French were to the target and if the artillery could fire , if the bombard tool is still 40mm wide , does it matter if part of it would be over a friendly unit , I couldn't find anything at the time.

@@CreakyGamersHistorical Yes, the bombard tool can not be placed even partly on friends, but it need only clip the enemy so you might have some more options for targets.
Computing shooting left-to-right or vice versa (your choice) is actually a rule - but as it's a Global I don't think there is a need to say which of every possible unit is firing when you make the order. Unlike a Force order where you might need to check that they are still connected - at least that's how we play it.

I'm interested in these rules so watching these has been great ; I'm about to watch the third one now.
A question - at the beginning of your French move two, you decided to charge, so the Russians interrupted after only one momentum. Could you have chosen to do some other actions with the French first, or is there a sequence of play within that phase? As it is, I think all the French momentum (except the artillery fire) was close to enemy - infantry volley fire, another infantry charge. But could you have instead, for example, moved the battalions on the French left before doing the charge on the right? And does each individual charge always trigger a momentum challenge opportunity or could you declare several charges before the momentum challenge?
Well, clearly I should have watched the third video - you were able to do multiple charges . . . :~)
    Thanks,
    John

Yes that’s correct , I spent one to charge , but I could have bombarded first ( which does Not cause an interrupt as it’s too far away)
I could have moved another brigade and if they stayed outside 4 base widths from the enemy they would not trigger an interrupt.
It’s only things happening up close that allow the enemy to interrupt.
It’s a good game , I’ll hopefully get a game vs my son in as soon as his Uni exams are over and give it a good test.

@@CreakyGamersHistorical Yes, things I've heard about it sound positive so I was really pleased to come across your videos, which I found to be slick and fun to watch, as well as informative. The 'interupt' system seems a lot of fun, interactive and engaging for the non-plying plater.
I do wonder at the wisdom of reducing all units to a single size was wise (I think the original, and General d'Armee have a small, medium and large). That may put some people off but I thought adding one to the overall hits for a large unit and adding one to the yellow hits (so 1-3 instead of 1-2) or something like that might be a possibility. I'm definitely keen to have a crack myself so I'm painting a few more French (or would be if I wasn't typing this . . .)
      Thanks again,
      John
