I'm a seat fan boy so pretty annoyed they've eliminated it from the test at the first hurdle with that leisurely reverse. Also, it weighs about 70kg less than they quoted. Pretty sure its the lightest there.think they've quoted the weight with driver.

I know both drivers have significant racing experience, but you really need to have the same driver drive both cars in the same conditions for this to be objective. Considering how close it was you could go either way. Tire compound also makes a big difference
Measuring manualy with stopwatch where tenth of a second makes the difference is approximately as useful as guessing wich one is the fastest without driving them.

Format of this is crap. I bet if you 're did this with the same set of cars you would get a different running order. Totally subjective proves nothing to the consumer or fan.

I'd happily own any of these hot hatches. Have to admit I'd feel a bit of a muppet driving the Type R though, it's a bit too Halfords for my tastes (and age, a 45 year old would look a right plum behind the wheel!) maybe when I was in my twenties. Cool cars though, for sure!!!
Hit the gym a bit, dress handsomely yet a bit wild. Definitely would fit the car then ^^

I love all Hot Hatches, being a full blown Essex Boy Racer back in the 90s driving a Astra GTE 16 valve (and a 1.8 GTE, SRI Cavalier) and mates that had XR2s, XR3is, Nova SRs, 205 GTIs, Golf GTIs etc. I'm a boring family man nowadays, having a car with a decent sized boot is more important nowadays haha!!! I would love one of these new Hatches though, my GTE used to hit 60 in about 7 or so seconds (135mph top end, which I confirmed....repeatedly haha!) some of the AWD Hyper Hatches do it in 4 seconds AND top out at 150+mph!!! I want one!!!
@@Henry_Jr_Watsson I've been a fan of the sleeper style of rapid motor. Something thunderously quick but very low key, like the Audi. My dream car nowadays would be an Audi RS4/6. Discreet, classy, supercar quick, AWD but with room in the back for screaming kids and bloody pushchairs haha!!!
Make it all black. Change the wheels and bumpers with standard ones and you ll have the best sleeper car.

Roundabout wasn’t fair on all cars as the Audi only did one when civic and seat did two.
What's the point in taking cars out of the tests? What if you were to start with a different test first? A different can may have been eliminated?

@@eleonik76 it looks the best, it's quicker in a straight line, the carbon copper etc. makes it more light weight, it sounds the best, the handling will also be the best and will be quicker round a track than the rest of these cars. What more do i need to say?

I would choose honda for reliability and the fact they make engines for any machine you can think of means they one of the best in the business.

@@vitormendes3310 Ever tried a 10 year old Megane 3 R.S. cup with 300 hp driven at the limit on back roads. I challenge any current hothatch in terms of involvement, excitement and fun. That's why the Megane 3 R.S. was considered the king of hot hatches for many years. Not because it was the best all-round hot hatch, and it is still among the very best at least in the mentioned regards even against the newest cars today
