The “jacked” lady’s name is Zarya who is one of the strongest women in the world, and a celebrated athlete and soldier in the Russian Defense Forces. She doesn’t trust omnics and sometimes not even people who existed before the war. Zarya grew up with the post-war destruction and swore to help the people of Russia gain strength and recover. Also when Zarya says “I believe I do” after being summoned by the powerful Russian lady (Katya) she was supposed to track down Sombra. Lastly, Zarya just loves working out and eating cabbage pierogis. She’s one of the only people strong enough to hold her gun. I hope this helps though and I can’t wait for you to watch the Honor and Glory cinematic!

All the shorts take place during present day (relative to the game), with the exceptions of a few obvious flashbacks 3. The pink-haired jacked lady was Zarya, an athlete-turned-soldier 4. Since the Omnic Crisis, there have been a couple places where omnics have continued to attack, most prominently Siberia and eastern South Korea (who are defended by Zarya and D. Va and their organizations, respectively) 5. Sombra is mostly in Talon so she can get more info and have a wider reach and more power (hence the double-crossing)

The characters in this are members of Talon, a terrorist organization. Talon has former Blackwatch members, aka Reaper and Moira. But Talon and Blackwatch are two separate groups. Sombra doesn’t pick to be on a specific “side”, good or bad. She does things for herself and will use anyone she has to, to do it
Yet Reaper and Widow know she's not to be trusted. Sombra may think she's clever, but a former blackwatch member and assassin should easily see through her

heck yes. i’m so excited for you guys to play this game another daily lore dump: the woman that Widowmaker was targeting is named Volskaya. If you remember from the first cinematic, each country defended the omnics in their own way. Russia’s way was to build those robots and she was the leader of the company that built them. game info: Sombra is super hard to play but is O.P. if used correctly. She hacks other characters and keeps them from using their abilities
Er... ok before I say this just know that as far as time played... I am a Sombra Main (At 27 hours played with the second being D.Va / Mercy at 16 Hours each) Sombra is actually the WEAKEST character in the game. HOWEVER, she is also the most useful. Her abilities ALL OF THEM deal 0 damage to enemies... and offer no shut down type abilities such as Ana's Sleep Dart, Lucio's er... boop(?), or anything along those lines. Her hacking abilities are where she shines and helps her team win... though don't mistake this for being OP. IMO, Sigma or Echo would be the most OP character in the game currently. Sombar would be at the very bottom of that list. For me as a Logician she presents an option for picking a more tactical type character... though she falls into what I call the Finesse Character Type. Meaning she takes a VERY HIGH SKILL level to play and play well. This is a character type I usually stay away from. But in Sombra's case... it presented an interesting challenge to me. Ok why do I think she is the weakest? First off her main and only weapon is actually the weakest damage per shot in the game. D.Va's pistol is actually stronger... The only saving grace here is the clip size is huge compared to all other glass cannons, also her reload is by far the most insane of all characters, I think only Mcree, Junkrat, Symmetra and Soldier: 76 have faster reloads. Her Hacking skill while it does have a short CD, is way too short ranged and interrupted by ANY Damage taken. It only last 4 seconds as well, when used on enemies. But it does keep enemies form using anything other than their main weapon for those 4 seconds. Also it makes Ults either not charge or unuseable for the time. Makes it easy to get say a Bastion out of turret mode or shut down a Torbjorn turret. Sadly though both of these can gun her down before she get's it off if they start attacking her. Her Ultimate while being one of the shorter ults to charge does the exact same thing as her hacking ability only in an AOE centered on her... basically to be effective she has to survive long enough in the danger zone to have it cast... like any other character if she dies mid animation of their ult it's gone and has no effect. Rare to happen but it can. Her ult is also the only ult in the game that can remove a Symmetra Ult. It will also stop other ults....... the same as just killing the character out right. Her teleportation is a lot better know then when she was first released... it use to have a 5 second timer. Meaning if the timer ended before you used it, it would disappear. But it still has a limited range... though I'm not sure how far that range is. It's also destroyable just like any other character ability that places an item. Though it's far worse if someone finds it... and doesn't destroy it. They can easily ambush you getting a free kill. I've been camped a few times by this tactic. Basically it's a flee mechanic, allows her to get in poke some damage or use her ultimate and get out. Her cloak... oh boy is this uselessly useful. Pretty much the only time I even use this is to navigate the map faster. It has a short timer on it meaning you can try to get from cover to cover without being noticed... or hope they don't notice you because you do have a slight shimmer to you as you run around. It does increase your speed and make you harder to spot... but nothing more. You can still just as easily die to a Widowmaker snipe if they know what to look for or are using their ult. It also makes you unable to capture points... you have to be visible to do so. I have seen games won by players using this ability to sneak past the enemy team and push payloads to the winning area... I chop this up to idiots not paying attention the payload position while "chasing kills". Her passive is... sort of useful. Basically it allows her to see low health characters regardless of where they are. Though I've found this is either useless seeing as they'll just grab a quick health pack or have one of the team healers heal them up losing any sight advantage on them it gives. Basically it helps finding an easy target... so long as that player is stupid enough not to seek out healing knowing there's a Sombra on the enemy team. If you won't a better understanding of why I think she's the weakest but the funniest character to win with. Just try beating one of the (currently 3) anniversary maps with her on anything above easy mode. You'll quickly see her damage output and hacking skills aren't as OP as people think. Along side this you'll find that Brigitte is also the WORST HEALER EVER!! Fun to win with... but bad at the assigned Role.
@@natanislikens okay some of what you said made sense and others didn't. Sombra is by far not the weakest and you are making that assumption based on arcade modes. Go to comp and get some evidence, I am a 3800 player and sombra is fairly strong. Yeah she is op she is just annoying but there is counter play. Tbh it doesn't seem like you have a good playstyle for her so maybe watch Fitzy if you haven't. She really isn't a hero meant for gold damage but emp is easily one of the best ults in the game.
Talon's got agents from former Blackwatch but generates from others and is a terrorist organisation. I think it was already active when Overwatch was still something. Their goal is to wreak havoc a bit everywhere for their leader, Doomfist, or Akande Ogundimu, thinks that the only way for humanity to evolve is through conflict. I don't think it's clearly stated that Talon is against omnics, but they certainly use their conflict with humans as a further means to achieve their goals. The Blackwatch agents that went to Talon were mainly people that didn't agree with the working policy of Overwatch and the government; Science was heavily watched and controlled and many operations were seen as scandalous and thus could not be undertaken. Even by Blackwatch sometimes. As a matter of fact, it is the breakthrough of certain Blackwatch's covert operations to the public that initiated the shutdown of Overwatch.
Doomfist is not the leader. Reaper is. Actually no Max the omnic is. Doomfist came in after reaper, while max has been in power for a while since the omnic crisis if I'm not mistaken. The chain is Max, Reaper, then Doomfist

At the start of a match in game, characters will talk to each other and give little story clues. Recently they added a voiceline between Reaper and Widowmaker implying that Reaper knows that Sombra is working behind their backs, but that she still has uses for them. Additionally to answer some questions, Talon has been around for about as long as Overwatch has. Before Reaper was Reaper he was the head of Blackwatch. During a mission Gabriel Reyes (Reaper) opted to kill a Talon leader instead of taking them in. This Blackwatch killing became the basis for the Petras Act that ultimately forced Overwatch to shut down.
Or right before. The timing is kinda murky and there's nothing to indicate when this short happens. Oh, and IIRC, in Recall Winston was watching a news report about fighting against Omnics going on in Russia right before Reaper invaded his base.

Just to avoid confusion this is talon. Blackwatch was a covert ops unit of overwatch led by Gabriel Reyes aka reaper. Long story short, reaper was horribly disfigured after he blew up a Swiss overwatch base. He was then helped by moira, a member of talon, and became reaper. Him, moira, doomfist(who isn't in a cinematic yet), Maximilian(An rich omnic), and Sanje corpal(The creator of hardlight)are the leaders of talon

'me being an overwatch nerd dying' I'll explain everything So this animated short is in Russia where they still got the omnic crisis, I think it's because overwatch got shut down before they reached Russia or Russia did not want help. Sombra, reaper, widowmaker, doomfist, moira and the latest one sigma is part of a rasict organisation called talon that overwatch faught against, but talon had friends in the gouverment and after the retribution talon got a tighter grip around overwatch and after a while was a part of shuting them down. Talon stayed intact and safe by the Petras Act laws that forbid all overwatch activity, now to the story for Sombra my favorite OW "hero"😏 Sombra's real name Olivia Colomar. Olivia's parents where killed in the omnic crisis in Mexico, which left her as an orphant as many others. She grew up in a time of Mexico called "La Medianoche" which is spanish for "the midnight", there was lack of electricity and the country was left dark to rebuild after the omnic crisis. A corporation called Lumerico rised and gave electricity to Mexico once again, but in the ashes of it other groups rised one called Los Muertos that also was rasict against omnics. The young Olivia had a natural gift of hacking and used it for Los Muertos and against Lumerico, she is still torturing Lumerico today. But after Los Muertos she found a bigger client for her skill, Talon. After some work in the dark for Talon she was noticed hacking (for the first time) and she was forced to delete all her past information and soon she took the alias Sombra, when she got noticed she decided to uppgrade to her curent state. She is a walking master hacker computer, after joining the ranks of Talon she became a special agent and rised quickly to hight levels. She is a big part of many Talon operations and huge cyber attacks. Now reaper know she's dubble crossed them with Volskya, same with the leader, Doomfist. I recomend the channel TGN and the video "the complete lore of Overwatch"
I don't know if anyone has mentioned it yet but you can notice the difference between Reaper and Soldier 76. Soldier was more animalistic when fighting against Los Muertos. You can hear his grunts and the sheer force of each punch. Reaper only incapacitated them. If they couldn't fight back then he would stop. It's strange because Soldier is the good guy and Reaper is the bad guy but Soldier was crueler to Los Muertos. Then again, they were a crime gang so maybe Soldier had the right to. Maybe the reason Reaper didn't kill anyone was because Russia is still in their own omnic war, but if he's thinking like that then is he really a bad guy?
Sombra in spanish means "shadow" which is pretty neat if you see her origin story video. How she sticks to the shadows and how, all anyone can figure out about her is that her (codename) is Sombra. Honestly this is my favorite cinematic. ( Which is biased since I main her ; v ; )
Talon is the enemy of Overwatch. Talon doesn’t have any ties to Overwatch. Blackwatch was a secret division in Overwatch which disbanded before Gabriel Reyes turned into Reaper. This video is post Omnic War and their going in to a new war that’s why they were talking about getting ready their new Omniums for a new attack. I just thought I’d write to clear it out.

this is my favorite short! she's my main and i've been waiting for this reaction! :D you guys make me laugh so much ngl oh! when you guys are done with the animated shorts, you should watch the origin stories! they're very short (usually about a minute or two) and give a lot of backstory to the characters. it might help you understand the world of overwatch a bit more.
Blackwatch was a subgroup in Overwatch, and they were in charge of the shadier missions (one of them you can play while the Archives event in game). They are one of the reasons why Overwatch was disbanded. Some Blackwatch members turned to Talon, like Reaper and Moira. But others, like Genji (from Dragons) and McCree (will be presented in other cinematic) are still in Overwatch.
This Cinematic right here was my absolute favorite. It was revealed at Blizzcon 2016 in November. They kicked off a video showing the the hard work coming in from different locations to made Overwatch’s official launch in May of 2016 possible. Clipped in were lots of fans from all over the world waiting in line, in cosplay, and just showing love for the game. “Jeff Kaplan” (Game direction for overwatch) speaks and talks about its development, Clips of play testing and coded screen. The crowd is loving it, the video went on for a couple more seconds as what looks like Error codes show up on the team’s computer screens. The Video feed starts glitching and gets pixelated. Oooo the Chills, the video feed gets more distorted and the audio Bugs out, more chills. Her skull icon shows flickering through the video and then the entire video rewound to the beginning with her voice talking in the background. A few more secs and the video almost seamlessly starts at the beginning of the cinematic. The screams , the chills.... ooo you just had to be there, Nov 4th 2016 Sombra Hacked the Blizzard Main stage and showed the world the footage of her mission and it was Epic!!!!
Talon was it's own organization that formed during the Omnic Crisis. When Overwatch was still together, they fought Talon multiple times. Some former members of Overwatch joined Talon after Overwatch was disbanded; namely Gabriel Reyes and. Moira O'Deorain.
Big girl at the end is Zarya. A Former weight lifting champ turned hero for her people during Omnic war. Zarya actually uses that big gun the mech uses. With her own hands.
The game is very fast and here’s a few things you guys might have missed while watching it. Like you guys guess, she is a hacker. Sombra is Spanish for “shadow”. you guys have may have guessed, she was doing it for her own benefits, if you guys want to know more about her, I recommend you guys watch her origin story. That Jack girl with the pink hair. That’s Zarya. And for the part where Sombra went inside the same area with Katya and the two soldiers, she has the ability to go invisible, kind a like how she was doing in the very beginning of the cinematic. This may not be much but I hope it works with some information so good job reacting to these overwatch cinematics and I can’t wait to see what you guys know so far later in future videos! Great job
The post-credit woman is Zarya, the wieght-lifting champion from Russia. In a comic (which is the following one in the storyline) Zarya look for Sombra and she tries to kill her, but she finally can't.
Honor and Glory is set during the Omnic Crisis, this is during the Second Omnic Crisis. Blackwatch was a covert branch of Overwatch but things went bad and some joined Talon, Moira and Reaper.

Around 4:10 , Hayley said "this is black watch", but it's Tallon. Blackwatch was a part of overwatch and they did the "shadier" missions. Tallon is an evil organization. Many members of black watch are/were in talon. At 5:08 Hayley says "this is back during the omnic war", it's actually in the present. The World is suffering from another omnic crisis. BTW.: the "Boop" of sombra at the nose of Katja volskaja isn't funny. At the other photo on the table we can see Katja playing with her dother and "booping" her at the nose. This means sombra knows everything about Katja, even what she plays with her daughter. This could also mean that sombra is threatening Katja with doing something to her daughter. Katja Volskaya is the owner of the organization "volskaja industrys" a rival industry of "Vishkar cooperations". You will learn more about Vishkar if u research on moyra and symmetra. Blackwatch was the spec ops unit within Overwatch. It created after the Omnic War to combat Talon. It was first run Gerard Lacroix, husband of Amelia Lecroix who is now Widowmaker. Talon kidnapped her to make Gerard stand down, and brainwashed her into an assassin, she then returned and killed her husband. Blackwatch was then run by Gabriel Reyes, former Overwatch Commander during the war, now known as Reaper after the fall of Overwatch. And there is so much, much more.
A lot of the lore for the game doesn’t happen in these cinematics, the cinematics show what’s happening in their present ( our distant future ). If you really want to know what happened before all this, you should read the comics and watch some trailers for the game. Overwatch has A LOT of history so I can summarize it up for you. Many years ago a new advanced ai witch I believe is called Anubis starts taking control of Omnics, they start taking over the world and forming groups such as Null Sector. This new force of evil sparked a “program” called Overwatch. The original founders of overwatch are: Soldier 76 ( Jack Morrison ), Reaper ( Gabriel Reyes ), Reinhardt Wilhelm, Ana Amari, Torbjörn Lindholm and Mina Liao. With the help of other members they deafer the omnics ( this war was called: “the omnic crisis ). Years later Overwatch disbanded as it was believed to be a threat to society. At one of their bases an explosion happened killing reaper and soldier 76, or so we thought. In reality they both survived. Reaper joins the criminal organization Talon while, soldier 76 becomes a masked here. After ALL of that, ( plus way more stuff that you can read on the overwatch website ) that’s where the second short you guys saw takes place ( the first comes after that). To anyone in the comments please correct me if I’m wrong. Thanks for reading.
No joke, y'all gotta watch the character backstories too. Sombra's tells you more about what's going on and her motivations for why she's looking for "friends."
So heres the lore dump for you guys Infiltration takes place after The Omnic Crisis which was the war between the omnics and humanity, and features characters Widowmaker, Reaper, introducing Sombra (this was also her introduction short into the game as well) Katya Volskaya, as well as at the very end Aleksandra Zaryanova, an already existing hero who is named Zarya for short. In the lore Zarya was an olympic body builder and during the Omnic Crisis went to fight for her country and completely hates omnics. Widowmaker uses two of her abilities in this, her grappling hook which she used to get onto the crane, and her ultimate which is called infrasight which allows both her and her teammates (in the game) to see enemies through walls. Reaper also uses one of his abilities called Wraith form (his ghostly form) to quickly travel around the factory. Sombra (who was added into the game in the next update after this short was released) uses all of her abilities except for her ultimate. One of her abilities is called Stealth which allows her to go invisible, she uses this almost the entire time during the short, she also has a hack ability that allows her to hack enemy players and health packs, however in the short she only hacks the security system and the giant robot hand, this cannot be done in game. Her final ability she uses is called translocator which is a teleporter of shorts, she throws it out to a location and can teleport to said location whenever she pleases. Now onto what happens in this short. The terrorist organization Talon sends in agents Widowmaker, Reaper, and Sombra to Volskaya Industries which is located in St. Petersburg Russia, to eliminate Katya Volskaya who is not only the woman in white, but also the CEO of Volskaya Industries. During and after the omnic crisis, having no help from Overwatch, Russia was forced to combat the omnic forces alone. Use of the Svyatogor mechs allowed them to succeed (the mechs seen in the short and the ones that reaper battles), and to this day they are still proud of their independent efforts. With the mechanized labor industry returning to prominence, Russia entered a period of economic growth. During their "infiltration" the alarm suddenly goes off without warning and Katya is moved to a safe room while reaper goes in and destroys basically everything. We find out later Sombra is the one who tripped the alarm (on purpose) because she wanted to have a chat with Katya, gets inside the safe room while invisible, kills her two guards, pulls out her earpiece (which is her comm link with widow and reaper, and has her chat with Katya. Instead of killing her like she's supposed to, Sombra keeps her alive and blackmails her in the safe room and "earns" her new "friend in a high place/position of power". After teleporting back to her translocator she puts her earpiece back in and tells the other two (widow and Reaper) that the mission is failed and that Katya escaped, which is obviously a lie. Thats the entire short explained for you guys and I'll see you in the next short :D
There is a second omnic crisis which is what they’re are preparing for. And it is talon who is attacking, this is after overwatch/black watch had been disbanded
Also you should totally watch the characters' Origin Stories along with the animated shorts, they provide a lot of info/lore about the characters and world.

The omnic "war" isn't still going on, but there are still omniums that regularly attack humans. Even though Talon has some ex-Blackwatch members, it's not some kind of descendant of Blackwatch. Edit: Also, the "Reunion" short has a "post-credit scene" that's in a different UA-cam video. Make sure you don't miss it when you get there.

Sombra goes invisible, can drop a teleportation device as you saw and can hack stuff in game, in lore she's OP AF as you can clearly see. Her teleportation device is something she stole from Overwatch, some sort of tech that was maybe prototyped for Tracer, in-game when both are present in the same team, in spawn Tracer tells Sombra "Don't think I don't recognize your tech, thief" or something along those lines.
This is AFTER the initial Omnic Crisis. However, in the current present of the Overwatch timeline, conflict with the Omnics have flared up again and the Second Omnic Crisis started and it first began in Russia (Siberia, to be exact). And this short takes place at Volskaya Industries (which is also a map in the game), where they produce, amongst other things, mechs to fight against the Omnics. The lady in the white outfit is Katya Volskaya, a hero to her people and one of the most powerful and influential people of Russia. And that woman at the end is Aleksandra Zaryanova, better known as Zarya and a playable hero in game. She's legitimately one of the strongest women in the world, a world class weight lifter coming from a small village in Siberia and herself a hero to the people of Russia, becauses she gave up a promising career as an athlete to fight for her country against the Omnics.
I'm always surprised at how close, yet so far off you guys get with trying to piece together the lore. To be fair, you're doing a pretty good job though, and it really just confirms why I love the lore of the game so much already as I've played since the beta. Edit: for clarity that I'm talking to the folks in the video, not Blizzard's handling of the lore itself
Tbh, i think they are doing a rather bad job as of now. They started out very promising and it became pretty bad pretty fast after the launch. And everytime they give us tiny new tidbits of lore via these cinematics (and even of those we're getting fewer and fewer), it poses more questions than it answers. The whole deal with "First Strike" is pretty much symbolic for how Blizzard handles the lore development of Overwatch.
Yep we're trying our best! We're getting most of our lore knowledge from the cinematics which we're watching for the first time and people in the comment section explaining it to us but it's still pretty confusing for someone who's completely new to the lore:) Thanks for watching!

The “jacked” lady’s name is Zarya who is one of the strongest women in the world, and a celebrated athlete and soldier in the Russian Defense Forces. She doesn’t trust omnics and sometimes not even people who existed before the war. Zarya grew up with the post-war destruction and swore to help the people of Russia gain strength and recover. Also when Zarya says “I believe I do” after being summoned by the powerful Russian lady (Katya) she was supposed to track down Sombra. Lastly, Zarya just loves working out and eating cabbage pierogis. She’s one of the only people strong enough to hold her gun. I hope this helps though and I can’t wait for you to watch the Honor and Glory cinematic!

When overwatch became a horror movie
5 things:
1. Blackwatch is separate from Talon, though two former members of Blackwatch (Reaper and Moira) are in Talon
2. All the shorts take place during present day (relative to the game), with the exceptions of a few obvious flashbacks
3. The pink-haired jacked lady was Zarya, an athlete-turned-soldier
4. Since the Omnic Crisis, there have been a couple places where omnics have continued to attack, most prominently Siberia and eastern South Korea (who are defended by Zarya and D. Va and their organizations, respectively)
5. Sombra is mostly in Talon so she can get more info and have a wider reach and more power (hence the double-crossing)

The characters in this are members of Talon, a terrorist organization. Talon has former Blackwatch members, aka Reaper and Moira. But Talon and Blackwatch are two separate groups.
Sombra doesn’t pick to be on a specific “side”, good or bad. She does things for herself and will use anyone she has to, to do it
Yet Reaper and Widow know she's not to be trusted. Sombra may think she's clever, but a former blackwatch member and assassin should easily see through her

another daily lore dump: the woman that Widowmaker was targeting is named Volskaya. If you remember from the first cinematic, each country defended the omnics in their own way. Russia’s way was to build those robots and she was the leader of the company that built them.
game info: Sombra is super hard to play but is O.P. if used correctly. She hacks other characters and keeps them from using their abilities
Er... ok before I say this just know that as far as time played... I am a Sombra Main (At 27 hours played with the second being D.Va / Mercy at 16 Hours each)
Sombra is actually the WEAKEST character in the game. HOWEVER, she is also the most useful. Her abilities ALL OF THEM deal 0 damage to enemies... and offer no shut down type abilities such as Ana's Sleep Dart, Lucio's er... boop(?), or anything along those lines.
Her hacking abilities are where she shines and helps her team win... though don't mistake this for being OP. IMO, Sigma or Echo would be the most OP character in the game currently. Sombar would be at the very bottom of that list. For me as a Logician she presents an option for picking a more tactical type character... though she falls into what I call the Finesse Character Type. Meaning she takes a VERY HIGH SKILL level to play and play well. This is a character type I usually stay away from. But in Sombra's case... it presented an interesting challenge to me.
Ok why do I think she is the weakest?
First off her main and only weapon is actually the weakest damage per shot in the game. D.Va's pistol is actually stronger... The only saving grace here is the clip size is huge compared to all other glass cannons, also her reload is by far the most insane of all characters, I think only Mcree, Junkrat, Symmetra and Soldier: 76 have faster reloads.
Her Hacking skill while it does have a short CD, is way too short ranged and interrupted by ANY Damage taken. It only last 4 seconds as well, when used on enemies. But it does keep enemies form using anything other than their main weapon for those 4 seconds. Also it makes Ults either not charge or unuseable for the time. Makes it easy to get say a Bastion out of turret mode or shut down a Torbjorn turret. Sadly though both of these can gun her down before she get's it off if they start attacking her.
Her Ultimate while being one of the shorter ults to charge does the exact same thing as her hacking ability only in an AOE centered on her... basically to be effective she has to survive long enough in the danger zone to have it cast... like any other character if she dies mid animation of their ult it's gone and has no effect. Rare to happen but it can. Her ult is also the only ult in the game that can remove a Symmetra Ult. It will also stop other ults....... the same as just killing the character out right.
Her teleportation is a lot better know then when she was first released... it use to have a 5 second timer. Meaning if the timer ended before you used it, it would disappear. But it still has a limited range... though I'm not sure how far that range is. It's also destroyable just like any other character ability that places an item. Though it's far worse if someone finds it... and doesn't destroy it. They can easily ambush you getting a free kill. I've been camped a few times by this tactic. Basically it's a flee mechanic, allows her to get in poke some damage or use her ultimate and get out.
Her cloak... oh boy is this uselessly useful. Pretty much the only time I even use this is to navigate the map faster. It has a short timer on it meaning you can try to get from cover to cover without being noticed... or hope they don't notice you because you do have a slight shimmer to you as you run around. It does increase your speed and make you harder to spot... but nothing more. You can still just as easily die to a Widowmaker snipe if they know what to look for or are using their ult. It also makes you unable to capture points... you have to be visible to do so. I have seen games won by players using this ability to sneak past the enemy team and push payloads to the winning area... I chop this up to idiots not paying attention the payload position while "chasing kills".
Her passive is... sort of useful. Basically it allows her to see low health characters regardless of where they are. Though I've found this is either useless seeing as they'll just grab a quick health pack or have one of the team healers heal them up losing any sight advantage on them it gives. Basically it helps finding an easy target... so long as that player is stupid enough not to seek out healing knowing there's a Sombra on the enemy team.
If you won't a better understanding of why I think she's the weakest but the funniest character to win with. Just try beating one of the (currently 3) anniversary maps with her on anything above easy mode. You'll quickly see her damage output and hacking skills aren't as OP as people think. Along side this you'll find that Brigitte is also the WORST HEALER EVER!! Fun to win with... but bad at the assigned Role.
@@natanislikens okay some of what you said made sense and others didn't. Sombra is by far not the weakest and you are making that assumption based on arcade modes. Go to comp and get some evidence, I am a 3800 player and sombra is fairly strong. Yeah she is op she is just annoying but there is counter play. Tbh it doesn't seem like you have a good playstyle for her so maybe watch Fitzy if you haven't. She really isn't a hero meant for gold damage but emp is easily one of the best ults in the game.

Talon's got agents from former Blackwatch but generates from others and is a terrorist organisation. I think it was already active when Overwatch was still something. Their goal is to wreak havoc a bit everywhere for their leader, Doomfist, or Akande Ogundimu, thinks that the only way for humanity to evolve is through conflict.
I don't think it's clearly stated that Talon is against omnics, but they certainly use their conflict with humans as a further means to achieve their goals.
The Blackwatch agents that went to Talon were mainly people that didn't agree with the working policy of Overwatch and the government; Science was heavily watched and controlled and many operations were seen as scandalous and thus could not be undertaken. Even by Blackwatch sometimes.
As a matter of fact, it is the breakthrough of certain Blackwatch's covert operations to the public that initiated the shutdown of Overwatch.
Doomfist is not the leader. Reaper is. Actually no Max the omnic is. Doomfist came in after reaper, while max has been in power for a while since the omnic crisis if I'm not mistaken. The chain is Max, Reaper, then Doomfist

At the start of a match in game, characters will talk to each other and give little story clues. Recently they added a voiceline between Reaper and Widowmaker implying that Reaper knows that Sombra is working behind their backs, but that she still has uses for them.
Additionally to answer some questions, Talon has been around for about as long as Overwatch has. Before Reaper was Reaper he was the head of Blackwatch. During a mission Gabriel Reyes (Reaper) opted to kill a Talon leader instead of taking them in. This Blackwatch killing became the basis for the Petras Act that ultimately forced Overwatch to shut down.

Just to avoid confusion this is talon. Blackwatch was a covert ops unit of overwatch led by Gabriel Reyes aka reaper. Long story short, reaper was horribly disfigured after he blew up a Swiss overwatch base. He was then helped by moira, a member of talon, and became reaper. Him, moira, doomfist(who isn't in a cinematic yet), Maximilian(An rich omnic), and Sanje corpal(The creator of hardlight)are the leaders of talon

So this animated short is in Russia where they still got the omnic crisis, I think it's because overwatch got shut down before they reached Russia or Russia did not want help. Sombra, reaper, widowmaker, doomfist, moira and the latest one sigma is part of a rasict organisation called talon that overwatch faught against, but talon had friends in the gouverment and after the retribution talon got a tighter grip around overwatch and after a while was a part of shuting them down. Talon stayed intact and safe by the Petras Act laws that forbid all overwatch activity, now to the story for Sombra my favorite OW "hero"😏
Sombra's real name Olivia Colomar. Olivia's parents where killed in the omnic crisis in Mexico, which left her as an orphant as many others.
She grew up in a time of Mexico called "La Medianoche" which is spanish for "the midnight", there was lack of electricity and the country was left dark to rebuild after the omnic crisis. A corporation called Lumerico rised and gave electricity to Mexico once again, but in the ashes of it other groups rised one called Los Muertos that also was rasict against omnics. The young Olivia had a natural gift of hacking and used it for Los Muertos and against Lumerico, she is still torturing Lumerico today. But after Los Muertos she found a bigger client for her skill, Talon. After some work in the dark for Talon she was noticed hacking (for the first time) and she was forced to delete all her past information and soon she took the alias Sombra, when she got noticed she decided to uppgrade to her curent state. She is a walking master hacker computer, after joining the ranks of Talon she became a special agent and rised quickly to hight levels. She is a big part of many Talon operations and huge cyber attacks. Now reaper know she's dubble crossed them with Volskya, same with the leader, Doomfist.

I don't know if anyone has mentioned it yet but you can notice the difference between Reaper and Soldier 76. Soldier was more animalistic when fighting against Los Muertos. You can hear his grunts and the sheer force of each punch. Reaper only incapacitated them. If they couldn't fight back then he would stop. It's strange because Soldier is the good guy and Reaper is the bad guy but Soldier was crueler to Los Muertos. Then again, they were a crime gang so maybe Soldier had the right to. Maybe the reason Reaper didn't kill anyone was because Russia is still in their own omnic war, but if he's thinking like that then is he really a bad guy?
Sombra in spanish means "shadow" which is pretty neat if you see her origin story video. How she sticks to the shadows and how, all anyone can figure out about her is that her (codename) is Sombra. Honestly this is my favorite cinematic.

Talon is the enemy of Overwatch. Talon doesn’t have any ties to Overwatch. Blackwatch was a secret division in Overwatch which disbanded before Gabriel Reyes turned into Reaper. This video is post Omnic War and their going in to a new war that’s why they were talking about getting ready their new Omniums for a new attack. I just thought I’d write to clear it out.

One of the photos Katya Volskaya (her new friend) has is one of her doing the same thing to her daughter (7:49 in this video, if you want to check it out). oh! when you guys are done with the animated shorts, you should watch the origin stories! they're very short (usually about a minute or two) and give a lot of backstory to the characters. it might help you understand the world of overwatch a bit more.

Blackwatch was a subgroup in Overwatch, and they were in charge of the shadier missions (one of them you can play while the Archives event in game). They are one of the reasons why Overwatch was disbanded. Some Blackwatch members turned to Talon, like Reaper and Moira. But others, like Genji (from Dragons) and McCree (will be presented in other cinematic) are still in Overwatch.
This Cinematic right here was my absolute favorite. It was revealed at Blizzcon 2016 in November. They kicked off a video showing the the hard work coming in from different locations to made Overwatch’s official launch in May of 2016 possible. Clipped in were lots of fans from all over the world waiting in line, in cosplay, and just showing love for the game. “Jeff Kaplan” (Game direction for overwatch) speaks and talks about its development, Clips of play testing and coded screen. The crowd is loving it, the video went on for a couple more seconds as what looks like Error codes show up on the team’s computer screens. The Video feed starts glitching and gets pixelated. Oooo the Chills, the video feed gets more distorted and the audio Bugs out, more chills. Her skull icon shows flickering through the video and then the entire video rewound to the beginning with her voice talking in the background. A few more secs and the video almost seamlessly starts at the beginning of the cinematic. The screams , the chills.... ooo you just had to be there, Nov 4th 2016 Sombra Hacked the Blizzard Main stage and showed the world the footage of her mission and it was Epic!!!!
And the buff lady is Zarya. She used to be an Olympic champion (weight lifting) but had to leave it behind to fight in the first omnic war.

The game is very fast and here’s a few things you guys might have missed while watching it. Like you guys guess, she is a hacker. Sombra is Spanish for “shadow”. you guys have may have guessed, she was doing it for her own benefits, if you guys want to know more about her, I recommend you guys watch her origin story. That Jack girl with the pink hair. That’s Zarya. And for the part where Sombra went inside the same area with Katya and the two soldiers, she has the ability to go invisible, kind a like how she was doing in the very beginning of the cinematic. This may not be much but I hope it works with some information so good job reacting to these overwatch cinematics and I can’t wait to see what you guys know so far later in future videos! Great job
The post-credit woman is Zarya, the wieght-lifting champion from Russia. In a comic (which is the following one in the storyline) Zarya look for Sombra and she tries to kill her, but she finally can't.

Around 4:10 , Hayley said "this is black watch", but it's Tallon. Blackwatch was a part of overwatch and they did the "shadier" missions. Tallon is an evil organization. Many members of black watch are/were in talon.
At 5:08 Hayley says "this is back during the omnic war", it's actually in the present. The World is suffering from another omnic crisis.
BTW.: the "Boop" of sombra at the nose of Katja volskaja isn't funny. At the other photo on the table we can see Katja playing with her dother and "booping" her at the nose. This means sombra knows everything about Katja, even what she plays with her daughter. This could also mean that sombra is threatening Katja with doing something to her daughter.
Katja Volskaya is the owner of the organization "volskaja industrys" a rival industry of "Vishkar cooperations". You will learn more about Vishkar if u research on moyra and symmetra.

Blackwatch was the spec ops unit within Overwatch. It created after the Omnic War to combat Talon. It was first run Gerard Lacroix, husband of Amelia Lecroix who is now Widowmaker. Talon kidnapped her to make Gerard stand down, and brainwashed her into an assassin, she then returned and killed her husband. Blackwatch was then run by Gabriel Reyes, former Overwatch Commander during the war, now known as Reaper after the fall of Overwatch. And there is so much, much more.
A lot of the lore for the game doesn’t happen in these cinematics, the cinematics show what’s happening in their present ( our distant future ). If you really want to know what happened before all this, you should read the comics and watch some trailers for the game. Overwatch has A LOT of history so I can summarize it up for you.
Many years ago a new advanced ai witch I believe is called Anubis starts taking control of Omnics, they start taking over the world and forming groups such as Null Sector. This new force of evil sparked a “program” called Overwatch. The original founders of overwatch are: Soldier 76 ( Jack Morrison ), Reaper ( Gabriel Reyes ), Reinhardt Wilhelm, Ana Amari, Torbjörn Lindholm and Mina Liao. With the help of other members they deafer the omnics ( this war was called: “the omnic crisis ). Years later Overwatch disbanded as it was believed to be a threat to society.
At one of their bases an explosion happened killing reaper and soldier 76, or so we thought. In reality they both survived. Reaper joins the criminal organization Talon while, soldier 76 becomes a masked here.
After ALL of that, ( plus way more stuff that you can read on the overwatch website ) that’s where the second short you guys saw takes place ( the first comes after that).

No joke, y'all gotta watch the character backstories too. Sombra's tells you more about what's going on and her motivations for why she's looking for "friends."
So heres the lore dump for you guys
Infiltration takes place after The Omnic Crisis which was the war between the omnics and humanity, and features characters Widowmaker, Reaper, introducing Sombra (this was also her introduction short into the game as well) Katya Volskaya, as well as at the very end Aleksandra Zaryanova, an already existing hero who is named Zarya for short. In the lore Zarya was an olympic body builder and during the Omnic Crisis went to fight for her country and completely hates omnics. Widowmaker uses two of her abilities in this, her grappling hook which she used to get onto the crane, and her ultimate which is called infrasight which allows both her and her teammates (in the game) to see enemies through walls. Reaper also uses one of his abilities called Wraith form (his ghostly form) to quickly travel around the factory. Sombra (who was added into the game in the next update after this short was released) uses all of her abilities except for her ultimate. One of her abilities is called Stealth which allows her to go invisible, she uses this almost the entire time during the short, she also has a hack ability that allows her to hack enemy players and health packs, however in the short she only hacks the security system and the giant robot hand, this cannot be done in game. Her final ability she uses is called translocator which is a teleporter of shorts, she throws it out to a location and can teleport to said location whenever she pleases. Now onto what happens in this short.
The terrorist organization Talon sends in agents Widowmaker, Reaper, and Sombra to Volskaya Industries which is located in St. Petersburg Russia, to eliminate Katya Volskaya who is not only the woman in white, but also the CEO of Volskaya Industries. During and after the omnic crisis, having no help from Overwatch, Russia was forced to combat the omnic forces alone. Use of the Svyatogor mechs allowed them to succeed (the mechs seen in the short and the ones that reaper battles), and to this day they are still proud of their independent efforts. With the mechanized labor industry returning to prominence, Russia entered a period of economic growth. During their "infiltration" the alarm suddenly goes off without warning and Katya is moved to a safe room while reaper goes in and destroys basically everything. We find out later Sombra is the one who tripped the alarm (on purpose) because she wanted to have a chat with Katya, gets inside the safe room while invisible, kills her two guards, pulls out her earpiece (which is her comm link with widow and reaper, and has her chat with Katya. Instead of killing her like she's supposed to, Sombra keeps her alive and blackmails her in the safe room and "earns" her new "friend in a high place/position of power". After teleporting back to her translocator she puts her earpiece back in and tells the other two (widow and Reaper) that the mission is failed and that Katya escaped, which is obviously a lie.

There is a second omnic crisis which is what they’re are preparing for. And it is talon who is attacking, this is after overwatch/black watch had been disbanded
Also you should totally watch the characters' Origin Stories along with the animated shorts, they provide a lot of info/lore about the characters and world.
The lady in white is miss volskaya ( so the CEO yk) from volskaya industries ( also an overwatch map to play) who builds robots against the omnics

Make sure you guys watch the “are you with us?” Cinematic as well, it’s the short that comes up when you boot up the game and It gives context to another short that you guys haven’t reacted to yet.

This cinematic was released at Blizzcon to introduce Sombra. The moment before the reveal all the lights went out. It was so awesome! Excited for you all to watch Honor and Glory! Also, I think the manbun works!
Sombra is part of talon but she works for her self. And when you said reaper is pissed, they are suspecting sombra. I don't want to spoil too much so I'm gonna keep this short. Keep it up, I really enjoy watching you guy's reaction
The omnic "war" isn't still going on, but there are still omniums that regularly attack humans.
Even though Talon has some ex-Blackwatch members, it's not some kind of descendant of Blackwatch.
Edit: Also, the "Reunion" short has a "post-credit scene" that's in a different UA-cam video. Make sure you don't miss it when you get there.

Theres an Overwatch comic with Zarya tracking Sombra down actually. Yall should def check the comics sometime, they have a lot of insight into the world
Sombra goes invisible, can drop a teleportation device as you saw and can hack stuff in game, in lore she's OP AF as you can clearly see. Her teleportation device is something she stole from Overwatch, some sort of tech that was maybe prototyped for Tracer, in-game when both are present in the same team, in spawn Tracer tells Sombra "Don't think I don't recognize your tech, thief" or something along those lines.
The woman in the ending is Zarya if you wanted to know ^^
it was actually revealed that reaper was aware that sombra let her live and him and talon wanted to try and use it to their benefit
read the comics too. they have lore even more lore about talon, blackwatch. how overwatch disbanded ect. one comic takes place right after this short
This is AFTER the initial Omnic Crisis. However, in the current present of the Overwatch timeline, conflict with the Omnics have flared up again and the Second Omnic Crisis started and it first began in Russia (Siberia, to be exact). And this short takes place at Volskaya Industries (which is also a map in the game), where they produce, amongst other things, mechs to fight against the Omnics. The lady in the white outfit is Katya Volskaya, a hero to her people and one of the most powerful and influential people of Russia.
And that woman at the end is Aleksandra Zaryanova, better known as Zarya and a playable hero in game. She's legitimately one of the strongest women in the world, a world class weight lifter coming from a small village in Siberia and herself a hero to the people of Russia, becauses she gave up a promising career as an athlete to fight for her country against the Omnics.
I'm always surprised at how close, yet so far off you guys get with trying to piece together the lore. To be fair, you're doing a pretty good job though, and it really just confirms why I love the lore of the game so much already as I've played since the beta.

Tbh, i think they are doing a rather bad job as of now. They started out very promising and it became pretty bad pretty fast after the launch. And everytime they give us tiny new tidbits of lore via these cinematics (and even of those we're getting fewer and fewer), it poses more questions than it answers. The whole deal with "First Strike" is pretty much symbolic for how Blizzard handles the lore development of Overwatch.
Yep we're trying our best! We're getting most of our lore knowledge from the cinematics which we're watching for the first time and people in the comment section explaining it to us but it's still pretty confusing for someone who's completely new to the lore:) Thanks for watching!
