I do prefer the hand held, Karen. The go pro makes me dizzy. Love the videos!
I actually had to turn away a couple of times as I was getting dizzy/nauseous. If you decide to go with the chest version I don’t think I’ll be watching. Sorry.😢
Karen seems like you are more comfortable filming holding your camera. You should film however makes you happy. Both modes are good.
I like the handheld because you move slower and can see things better...but again, you do you!
GO PRO👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 chest mount . I never have any trouble seeing what you are looking at. Quit worrying about it you are doing great👍🏻😁
They’re both Gopro 😂 hand held or chest mounted??
@@lavenderclothesline I bought a GoPro and I'm too afraid to use it 🙄. Isn't that silly!? I keep thinking I'm going to start a thrifting UA-cam channel and I'm too afraid of failure to do it. Isn't that silly too?? Failure is the only thing I've ever been afraid of, Now I'm afraid of failure and losing my parents 😢😢
I love it mounted and when you hold it. I think you should do it which way is best for you! ❤
@@TurkeyCreekGal I would like to say, you should never be afraid of failure. Just keep telling yourself, "what's the worst that can happen!"
Honestly, so you start a UA-cam channel and it doesn't catch on and amass a huge following. So what!
You're not hurting anyone or anything by trying. You're not even hurting yourself and guess what? You just might gain a sense of accomplishment by getting it done, whether it's successful or not.
One thing though, it can take a long time to amass a large viewership. But if you're willing to go the distance, go for it!
@@lavenderclothesline totally thought I said chest mount before I hit the GoPro in capitals. Ha ha ha thanks for catching it. I will go and fix it in the edit.😄
Karen, aren’t antique dealers resellers, too? No one seems to complain about them. E-commerce opened up the viability of reselling to everyone. Resellers are conservators, recyclers, upcyclers and affordable purveyors of niche items. Some people just gotta complain and wanna live in the past. I love what y’all are doing!
Exactly! And if you watch salty stella you will be amazed at what gets thrown away at thrift stores.
As a reseller myself, I appreciate your comment, thank you! I say the same thing. Without resellers many of these items will end up in the landfill.
Thrift stores are bulk resellers. Online sellers are matching items and shoppers more efficiently than bulk resellers.
I had to explain that to a friend. She thought the guys on American Pickers were ripping people off and only watched the show once because of it. I told her that EVERYBODY we buy from is making a profit. Even the big retailers. It's how things work.
Dealers also shop eBay, mark up items and sell again.
You found Welsh love spoons. Sailors used to carve a wood spoon for their sweetheart. There's a lot symbolism to convey a message to the lady.
Yes! Welsh love spoons. I’m just over the border xx
Interesting to see the Welsh loving spoons … I wonder how they ended up there?
Really! how interesting, my maternal grandfather was from Wales, but came to Canada after the RAF released him after WW2, I was very small when he passed, and it's so neat to see something he probably knew about.
Welch loving spoons. If a young man gave them to you, you were basically engaged.
@@pawelbachorski3891 I've found them here in Australia!
Hand held is better.
Agree
Go pro is perfect
Hand held and push the cart😀
Anna From CRETE Greece, OH MY SO MUCH BETTER HAND HELD. We can see so much more.
And hear it better too
Didn’t care much for the chest mount, but do what is easier for you, we can adjust.
I prefer the hand held. I can see more merchandise from top shelf to bottom shelf and your voice is much clearer, the music doesn’t come across as loud either.
Great video. Chest mounted and handheld both are good but you do see more with the handheld. I will be watching no matter how you film. Do we love a good Lavender Clothesline video? Yes we do!!! ❤
I like the chest mount. It frees up your hands and allows you to handle everything better. It also helps my heart as I am always on edge that your going to drop everything. 😂😂😂
Hi Karen.....
I get worried when you leave your cart unattended.....lol. You have such beautiful items in there that people can just take.
You asked us to vote: Hand Held is my vote. The quality of the video is better...much more plain with no blur. Keep up the great work. I enjoy your channel. 😊
You do what’s best for YOU. As long as you’re filming I’ll be watching. You’re by far my favorite creator. Thanks for going the extra mile for us.
I LOVE the sign He is the potter, we are the clay. 💕 Beautiful
Amen
I agree, and I love the sign also 💜
Go pro is okay. Although, I like it better when you keep the cart with you. I’m sensitive to the movement of you walking back and forth. ❤
I prefer the handheld camera as the chest mounted one makes me dizzy and cannot see all the shelves. It's your business, so do what you prefer. I will keep watching. I adore you and Roger!
I was going to say the same things .. got me dizzy as movement was very quick .. I am super prone to that though.
Going this fast makes me a little dizzy but maybe that’s just me. I love your videos
I prefer the handheld. It allows for more control. 😊
I like the hand held option. I like to see the whole shelves. Did you leave those 2 Stanley pink tumblers on the shelf? Those are guaranteed sales.
I much prefer the hand held camera.. clearer picture and doesn't make me dizzy.
I like the handheld!
I prefer handheld as we see items better. Not as shaky. Seems better quality that way.
Chest mount for clothing would be perfect. Hand held for hard goods!
That mushroom sweater looks just like something I wore in junior high school and I'm 62 years old I always wondered if that style would come back❤... it was a midriff meant to be worn with a high waist so no tummy would show. I remember wearing it to school and some very similar ones
with clogs..
I like the hand held. Love your video's ❤
I'm getting a little dizzy with a chest camera. Pics aren't clear for me, and some shots are out of frame. Sorry! Love the channel.
Karen, it sounds like you have more flexibility when you hold your GoPro by hand…I don’t mind either way of filming! Tumi will actually repair the handle mechanism on their bags…we have three of them, and they are very sturdy.
You need to keep with your cart
I got really dizzy with the chest mount go pro. I prefer when you hold it with your hand.....way more steady.
Hand held better.. camera does not move as fast. Love its view
Honestly, I prefer handheld. Thank you for another great video. Take care darling and hello Roger. Charlotte xx🇬🇧
I tend to lean toward the hand held. Seems to be a little slower paced. Thank you either way tho.
I like the hand-held option😊. Loved the blue teapot and red bowl and plate but all great finds once again. Greetings from Cape Town South Africa🇿🇦.
I like you using the chest piece. The hands-free approach gives us a better look. Thank you for taking us with you on your and Roger's adventures
Sold the exact same Electronic Battleship for $86. Good find! Chest mount videos make me motion sick so definitely handheld is my preference (I'll watch either way). Leaving your cart and going back and forth made think someone was going to help themselves to your items. Plus I think you get more quality film time when you're in the moment and not having to go back and forth. Thank you Karen for all you do!
Cabbage Patch is only "real" if it's hand-signed on its little bottom. I took my three granddaughters to Cleveland, GA, to the Cabbage Patch Hospital to adopt babies. Lots of Cabbage Patch dolls out there but only the highly collectible are signed.
Personally, Karen, I like the hand-held camera. I'll watch either way because I love your videos. You found some great things today.
I have just purchased a Bulova watch for my son's birthday and it cost over $400 AU. Great finds today . I think that I like the hand held angle the best ❤️ 😍 Xx
I love how you say "Good Morning" to everyone when you enter the store as if you're coming into your office. In a way, you are. Any way you wish to film is great, I imagine some techniques are better for some situations. And I think the little boxes you put back were decorative matchbox holders. Thanks for all you do!❤
You are braver than I am to walk away from your cart. If I saw something in an "abandoned" cart that I liked, I would grab it if I didn't see anyone near it. 😂
Handheld feels like we can see more. But you decide which is best for you! ❤
Karen I like you holding the camera. But I leave it up to you….Thanks for taking us along.🥰
I worry people might steal stuff out of your cart. I've had it happen to me when I walked away. My daughter experienced the same thing. Now I keep my cart with me and let them try it lol
Welsh love spoons were traditionally carved by young men as tokens of affection for their sweetheart. Each element of the spoon - the locks, the hearts, the knots, etc had a specific meaning. They are carved from a single piece of wood and are each unique and beautiful. I live in England but my mother was from Philly and my dad was from Llanelli in South Wales. (The Montgomeryville store you often visit is less than a mile from where my aunt and uncle used to live off Cowpath Road) I love your videos ❤
Hand held seems better and you seem more comfortable with it. Anything you do is very enjoyable !
You are very sweet to ask our opinion about your filming methods. Whatever works best for you will work for us. 😊
Bugatti ❤ who knew? You’re doing a great job and rescuing things from oblivion
Like hand held… you seem to have better control and it doesn’t make me get dizzy
That is so great that you met someone that loves the Goodwill as much as you do I always hoped my kids would grow up and let go on but that's a no-go I guess
I like you holding the camera
I don't have a preference really. It's probably easier for you to open boxes etc. I like when you talk about even the things you don't buy. Yes you need your cart with you. I saw you go past something Elvis & I'm shouting go back, go back! Can you tell I'm an Elvis fan!??! I love your videos! You 2 are a perfect couple.
Karen, I think Grace on that swimsuit IS the brand @ 40:17
I personally like you having the ability to use both hands. Makes it easier to open things, like purses, boxes and look for brands. And I didn’t notice that you were using the chest mount until you said. It will likely get easier the more you use it to get the angles right! But all that said, you should use what’s most comfortable for you!
Hi Karen, I am so excited to tell you, my husband and I have been traveling for days, heading home, my husband surprised me so we could stop at your stomping grounds! We just pulled into the Olde Factory Antiques to see your booth and treasures!! Super Excited!!
To say that I’m not a little jealous would be a lie!! I hope that you enjoyed your time there!!
I prefer the hand held camera
I for one enjoy your clothing hauls. Actually watch all you do. What is really amazing is how much inventory there is. People buy buy buy more and then throw away by giving it to goodwill etc. Thank goodness for resellers. Thats you Karen😂❤
i personally like hand holding the camera, seems a lot better if you dont go too fast! You do a great job no matter what! We love you and your videos
I prefer the hand-held camera, but love your videos either way! 💕
I prefer the hand hold video. Thanks for all the wonderful videos you & Roger present.
Hi Karen. As far as the chest mount vs handheld camera, I think the chest mount videos are great, as are the handheld ones. I think the chest mount is really great since you have both hands free to get items from the shelves. Go with what is comfortable for you! You are the expert after all! Love you and Roger videos!
Men’s lululemon is always sized S M or Lrg. Etc. Womens are always Numbered in sizing.
It’s true these stores need to train their staff to have more care where they place their price tags!! So often they have another option yet put it on the worst possible location!
Hand held or chest mount, either way for me but appreciate when you go slower. Love the blue tea kettle!🫖 The little green dish with the bunny on top doesn't have to be for Easter; could be for a baby's room to hold QTips or something.
I prefer the handheld method as the chest mounted makes me dizzy. Angle is better to see what you are looking at too. Love your videos!
The Go-Pro chest- mount did a good job. I think it is better because both of your hands are free to shop. That's my opinion. Great finds today. Rodger did really well with the stuff that you found for him, as well as his finds he found too.
I don’t mind either camera so whatever is easier for you. Thanks for taking us along
That mushroom sweater is EVERYTHING!!! I feel that with vintage clothing, branding tags, as well as size tags, aren't as important as the condition, especially if it has elastic. Most vintage styles were sized so differently than clothing now, that really, the size on a tag is all askew anyway. "In my day" we didn't have size ZERO! What the heck is ZERO anyway??? LOL! Regarding filming, I think they both have their pro's and con's, but you do whatever you're more comfortable with; it is YOUR channel! We're all gonna watch you regardless of what you do.
I like the hand held better. Either way I enjoy your thrifting trips 😊
Hi from Western Australia... 🌏
Love all your content, thanks for taking us with you. I prefer the "harness" video as it has a more stable look whereas the handheld can get a bitty "choppy ocean". I will continue to watch no , matter what you decide though. 📺😎
rice came in that basmati bag- I have about 4 or 5- we reuse ours for onions, garlic and potatoes for storage-
I like the GoPro on the chest because we can see the items better when you turn them around!
I love the new GoPro. I also love pulling and shipping 😂.
Those plate you picked up. Red with beautiful paint design are Afghanistan pottery. Hand painted and made. They are beautiful. Also my husband and I met Roger in GW on Lincoln. He is such a nice guy. You got a gem. We are the couple from Rome.
Hand held! Sound and quality of the video is so much better 😃
I kind of prefer the handheld. 😊 But I vote for whatever is best for you! 😊
Thanks for the video. My vote for filming is which ever is most comfortable for you. So if there is a tie, use my vote to break the tie in your favor. Glad Roger showed the Electronic Battleship game. My neighbor put out a bag of games for trash pick up and Electronic Battleship was in the bag. Now I feel lucky.😀
I always like the handholding parts better . You are very good in camera work when you hold it. The view for the viewer is better and the sound is better 👍 great work 😁
I prefer the hand held, but will watch whatever you do! Love the videos!
Roger is darling!! I love you guys together!!!
“Handheld camera is GREAT!❣️
Hi Karen, I vote for handheld! (I sense you do too)😊 your channel is in my top 3! I check for your videos every morning! So educational and encouraging for other resellers! From Prince Edward Island Canada
She posts her videos every Wednesday & Sunday, just so you don’t have to check every day😊😊
I did notice a few things were blurry but not very often, just some portion of some frames. If you can get more comfortable with the chest mount or you want to go back to the hand held, either way is great! I know y'all spend lots of time in the stores, so whatever you feel best with! Thanks for taking us along❤
My only request with the chest mount is that you hold things you're inspecting a little further away from you. So if that is uncomfortable for you, then go with the handheld. I'll love your videos either way. 😊
Those are welsh weddings spoons for decoration. Very expensive if bought new!! Love the go pro. The carved wood box held coasters. I know someone who has that. Pretty crystal bowl. You always find great stuff!! Too bad the cats were damaged 😢 so cute.
They are welsh love spoons. An ancient tradition that men would carve a spoon out of wood and give it to his love
The Coles are a family of potters from Seagrove, NC, an area known for the number of renowned potters. I live fairly close to the area, and it is one of my favorite places to go. I have a turtle like the one that was given to you. Sanford, NC is also known for pottery with some of the families from Seagrove having potteries there. I prefer hand-held, but you should do whatever you prefer.
I was raised Catholic. Your crucifix that opens was kept in homes for anointing the sick and dying. It holds blessed candles and a small vile to hold the anointing oil. The priest does the sacrament of anointing .
Okay I like the hand held method better! Sorry I left 3 comments 💖
The mushroom sweater is forever 21. I have same one!
I saw someone use the eyeglasses that have a camera built in. They look like regular glasses and the footage was really good.
Hand held I like best ! But whatever you like most and is easier for you is whats important ❤
If i had to choose, I'd say hand held, you show top and bottom shelves ALTHOUGH chest mounted wasn't bad 😢DILEMMA
Sure do enjoy your channel! You and Roger are so cute together.
I love when you film clothing thrifs!
Those wood block with the mounted figure look like ink stamps for making cards and stationary. Like “Stamp it up” products.
I prefer the handheld, but am absolutely fine with whatever works best for you. I am sure having both hands is really nice for you & while the chest mount makes me a little dizzy, I will always watch whatever content you give us. Your channel has become my #1 favorite. Thank you for all you do! 🥰
Camera angle is good- free hands. You're right they always put stickers on item, but water usually works
Hi Karen, love all your videos. I like the view with you holding the camera because you get to see top and floor views. When you have the chest view you only get straight view and no higher or lower views.
Thank you for asking your viewers 😊. Hope you pick hand holding. ❤
Excellent pick up on vintage mushrooms sweater!
Your Wales spoons are hand carved love spoons. Many cultures carve love spoons and have symbolic meanings depending on the design carved as the handle. They are meant to hand in a home.
those spoons from Wales are 'love' spoons. I have one - my husband went to Wales years ago for a work trip
