- 2002 4.0L V8 Jaguar XJ8.
5 speed automatic with 17inch alloy wheels. Metallic blue paint that turns green and black as you view panels at different angles.
The headlining has been pinned as they often droop - sorry they aren't star lights!
Full walk around of the car, showing the all important Jaguar tool kit. - Авто та транспорт
I had an X reg / 2000yr Sovereign model, 4.0L same colour as the one in the video. Sold to me looking immaculate, within six monthths rust bubbles showing through the rear arches, broke my heart. A later MOT revealed serious rot on the drivers floor, paid for welding but the garage advised I get rid as loads more rot was there that would be an advisory for now but future major MOT repair. Mechanically very reliable and fuel consumption not bad for a V8 if driven gently. I would be very wary about buying another but the nicest car ive ever driven
I have the grandpa of this car, the Sovereign XJ40 from 1991 and I love it!
I see you have had trouble with the headlining falling down.
Yes - they do droop. The previous owner has used those pins to secure it. Looks neat enough, but it does disappoint people that it's not ambient lighting 😅
@@QuickShiftTV2024the main reason to find one with a sunroof, it helps keep the headlining up
Every single one does that.
@@wayland7150 The new headliner is about $1,550 USD, not including labor. Jaguar has know about the problem for decades, it should have been fixed many years ago.
@@3ducsyou can buy the fabric for about 100 USD and have a specialist install it for about 500-1000 USD. Will look like new!
Bought a 2001 it requires tyres but the battery is flat at present.
Recently bought a convertible for my 60th..
January an February is my mot for other cars
Nice shade of blue.
Where was you filming..?
I hope you get the car sorted and can enjoy it. This is various places in Suffolk, Sarah.
Nice example young man. I have a sapphire blue, 3.2L on a 2001 plate that l bought for £500. It needs a bit of bodywork but nothing else. Its my second X308 Jaguar, they are brilliant cars.
Good to see you back mate
Good to see u back x
You still have the XKR-S?
He doesn’t
But he has something nice
I won’t spoil it but hopefully content to come on his new toy 🤞
better make a nest in back seat for you mechanic
What is the situation with the plastic chain-tensioner, is it really going to wreck the engine or that's just an unfounded rumor?
It can, most have been fixed already but make sure of it. The pistons will contact the valves if they skip timing.
You need to do the whole job (chains, both primary & secondary tentioners and guides) - replacing just the secondary tensioners will only make it a slow ticking time bomb rather than an actual reliable engine. Do it right the first time round.
