      Fuel economy varies between 14L/100km - 20L/100km...depending on terrain.

      @@PaulBrookerJOURNi awesome range mate!!!! , is that stock Iveco tank? It gets some real decent economy considering its weight and 37s etc

    • @PaulBrookerJOURNi

      Standard tank is 90 litre and after market Brown Davis is meant to be 120 litres...although to get that much in it I'd need to be parked leaning away from bowser and overfill it!

    Good job. I’ve been to Bluff hut, Lovicks and Bindaree a number of times, but never along the lower Howqua. With a little luck I’ll get a chance next October - November. Probably come in from Mansfield, then along the Howqua, Upper Jamieson, then south to Licola. What was that piece of music playing when you showed Fry’s Hut? I’d like to hear some more of that. Enjoyed the external details of the - nicely done. Chris.

    Love your blogs, the scenery you show and the commentary is insightful and informative. Having recently entered into the sphere of being an Iveco Daily owner I love that you share some of the idiosyncrasies of the vehicle and its handling over the varied terrains that you cover. Interested in what tyre pressures you were running whilst travelling the Refrigerator track and the other "tracks" you were driving on?. ...

      Thanks for the great feedback - greatly appreciated.
      I tend to run about 30-35 PSI in this type of country and down to 20 PSI (or less) in the sand. In the previous video I probably should have gone down to 20-25 as I was still scrabbling...I think I would have climbed the
      jump-up with correct pressures. All the best with your IVECO JOURNi!

    Another inspirational Vid Paul. One day i'll get our Iveco on the VHC tracks. Noticed on the close-up, when you were talking about the Low Ratio Gearing (Gearing is one of the best features of the Daily) you had the No:1 diff lock engaged. Is this something you would recommend on these steep tracks ?

    • @PaulBrookerJOURNi
      @PaulBrookerJOURNi  4 місяці тому +1

      I usually engage the No 1 (centre) diff lock when on unsealed roads if travelling less than 80km/h. This puts the vehicle into 4WD apposed to AWD and splits the drive across the front and rear axles. On steep loose tracks I will also engage the rear diff lock (No 2)...this prevents the vehicle lurching forward should one of the rear wheels loose traction.

      @@PaulBrookerJOURNi Cheers Paul, thanks for confirming the Locker info. On another subject... I don't know if you've heard that Thuraya have pulled the pin on Satellite services into Australia. I know you talked about your Thuraya Phone in the recent Coms Vid. We're heading off on a remote trip very soon and therefore looking for another form of Satellite backup. Noticed you had have a Garmin Montana 700i. Do you rate this unit over and above the smaller inReach units. I reckon the Mapping on the Montana might be a bonus. What your thoughts ??

    • @PaulBrookerJOURNi
      @PaulBrookerJOURNi  4 місяці тому

      I certainly rate the Garmin…I have the Montana 750i. It is obviously heavier and bulkier than the inreach mini but the mapping is very good (and handy).
      It’s a shame about the Thuraya service…here I was shouting its praises 😩…time to look at the alternatives.
