This is why I like Tommy's style. Sometimes its not about the livestock in the tank. Its about the plants. Simple, sleek, and creative. For me. I would let the pump run at night. The sound of the waterfall would help me sleep.
You can find those black "crispy" foam plastic sheets under the name Komatex (I think that's a specific brand product name - similar to a Xerox machine :) ). You should find them in most hobby stores in relatively small sheets like 60x90cm. Often used by people who are into miniature models and dioramas. Also popular in the publicity industry, so they may be able to share some of their suppliers for larger and/or thicker sheets.
As for the waterfall terrarium you made, I really love these and the idea of flowing water in the house. Looks really awesome. What I would have added are little pockets, like terraces where water would gather, along the wall.

Interesting. I really like the magic touch of hygrolon, it gives the water dripping all over the rocks. Looking forward the entire grown after few days/weeks, won't it nicer to have some little flower, or maybe Bucep scatter around?
Wow, looks great! Reminds me of a valley in Norway with steep mountain walls on each side, and plenty of small waterfalls.

Plastic sheet is also called trovicel. Have used it as backround or covering overflows on marinetank. Love the project! Creative
Very nice build :)! The board is most likely PVC foam board, or expanded pvc, depending what the shop calls it. You can find it in most big hardware store. Fish and plant safe and easy to work with.

Nice built Tomi! Sorry about your hand, part of the aquascaping deal :D As for that foam board, you can search for "Habosított PVC" You can find them in different colors. Most regular is white, but you can find some art supply stores where they sometimes have it in color.

Eggcrate/lightning diffuser can be glued together with pvc glue and pvc glue primer, dunno how how useful that tip will be for your next terrarium though lol.

Sometimes we add nutrients to the water, which goes up to them.

Every architecture student knows this. Its called foam board .
The "crispy stuff" goes by "Depron" in Europe . It is Extruded Polystyrene (XPS). Used as floor underlayment/insulation.

Ultrasound tech. Cold mist maker, or fogger. Available at Green Aqua too.
