You SAY small deviations go a long way, but you've also said your favorite map is Golden Wall. It's mine too. It is a massive, bold deviation from conventional SC2 map design, without any modern gimmicks like slow zones or destructible vision towers. I think once every few seasons the ladder pool should be filled with idiosyncratic map designs to shake things up.
i like solaris for zerg because of the large choke in the natural and the size of the map. I think if creep spread is unchecked a zerg can just send lings and banes into the opponent's natural and delete a mineral line and/or production structures

i think i like interitus for its visibility - the terrain is using a good color palette, sometimes when the map is too colorful the units can be difficult to see in the heat of the battle. its still visually interesting with nice contrasts: brassy sections next to asphalt etc... so over all i think i like it.
A lava map like that one WoL mission would be super interesting in pvp. I think changing the terrain would make for some really fun and dynamic games - i mean collapsible rocks exist - lava really isn't all that different it's just a bigger but more temporary effect?
that sounds like aa terrible bad map, no you want maps that creates fun to watch replays, like super cool surrounds, mega medivac play, stem bio and mech alike, where worms can be put in hard to find locations for reinforcements, where deathballs efficiency is low but with chokes that makes 4 broodlords a viable defence with some t1-2 support. a map that creates LOTS of opportunities for come-backs and great defences and redefences where there are a few area awesome for static outpost; I want to see a hatch in front poss with worm+ static as a mini front outpost; which is designed to easily get lost and replanted, so gold+high gas to make it worth retaking and so badly placed that it is impossible to effectively defend from being swarmed; I want to see those swarms forward and backwards fight with lots of low tier units and decent tech tier support etc. ty that's the maps I want; obviously not just apm nightmare, not even serral got apm to do basic stuff like fully utilizing borrow or worms etc. why make the game even worse by making even top 3 players miss even more basic stuff we would LOVE to see done in replays, but no one in the world are fast enough and capable of fully doing it; and that just shows more stuff need to be automated, its silly we are doing so many menial siiiigh task manually still. like creepspread and injects, FGS why is this not auto toggle, or constant requing one unit at a time to not wasted resource FGS why would quing take resource before it starts building? i am not even asking for constant cost drain, its fine it reserves full cost from start of built but why before? just to apm spam and honestly as there is sooo much more micro and small things needed the menial boring bs should be automated instead so the focus could be on something better, also let the poor noobs have some fun as well, why do everything has to suck so hard for them? ffs, who would want to join sc2 now with that bull of a training curve just to get decent creep spread and resource spending.... its ridiculesly sad

Still, I think it would be a fine alternative form of mild map adjustment if it didn't flood whole areas but instead just shut down certain paths the same as rocks do - if for nothing else, just the variety.
I dunno, if Monster is the one sponsoring the map contest, I'd be ok with a couple relatively tasteful ads being left in for the ladder maps. Remove most yeah, but a couple that squeeze their way through? I wouldn't hate it - They're doing their part to help keep a game we all love up and running.
and i want raptor upgrade to jump cliffs on late game T3, bc its cool and its too easy late game to lock all harass as T, less extend P, and less for z ;P but give some off the cooler upgrades as late game upgrade, not too many bc chaos, but shield heal for t3 P sentries, reptor for zerglings, medic foot for T (double heal at late T3) etc such stuff
Lings roundby are already ( especially in lower league ) really good, we’ve seen herO losing to them because of them and the fact that he didn’t have any unit to close the wall. Imagine now 3/3 adrenal zerglings jumping in Terran/zerg/toss mains and just with their insane DPS destroy all the tech and escape… this would be overpowered for sure

honestly yes i got a stick over that apm spam bs and I've been harping on it since broodwars days; it has always been stupid but it has become increasingly so the higher and higher the skillcap become and at the time where people completely stopped borrow-micro, continues all game creep-spread, continues all game scout spread, double warp prism micro, medicvac micro etc. it clearly showed that automation had become an absolute must, so instead of focusing so much on useless stuff players could focus on the insane amount of new stuff you need to micro much better and tighter; instead of it looking less than it should.
also with some cheese but nothing that can be game ending, bc its so dumb when its an auto lose bc of something chiky; but it is fun to get a little up with some cleaver tricky play :P
Haven't played in forever, also FOCK BLIZZARD that shit company needs to burn, but must just blurt out that ALL of these 1v1 maps with fixed spawning positions are getting a bit dull. Early days had those maps with 4 random spawn positions. Kind of miss that...
6:14 if he had analyzed it correctly he would know the danger, pull the drones down, spawn the 3 stalkers, then recall however many stalkers a pro need extra to guarantee no dmg. instead off just ignoring it and losing 20 drones to 4 helions which that had no noteworthy micro on them... as I said I hate the apm spam required is so high that basics and tactics and strategy is second fiddle at best... like this is not a tactically hard decision to take, its 1,2,3,4 helions, each helion requires 1,2,etc stalker to safely remove, there helion and medivac move at this speed, do I recall the moment I see medivac or after the helion drop, how long do I need? this is such a basic reaction thing in any tactic or strategy game; the fact someone as insanely good as maxpax fks it up like this clearly shows how bad the situation is :) ggwp guys ^^

Nah I disagree, he used to cast a lot of Korean games but I guess you didnt pay attention that Blizz dropped all support for Korean players so there are probably way less Korean games to cast. This used to be a very Byun forward channel and I was all for it. Besides Dark is Korean and hes constantly on this channel literally all the time. Maybe youre secretly the korean hater here. Koreans also have mandatory military service so they disappear from the scene for a year(if they even return).
