Griffin, once again coming out with best practical applications for C70. Been working with my C70 for weddings but looking to break into more commercial work. Always inspired by your videos to try out new types of projects! Thank you and looking forward to videos to come!
Thanks for watching! Any videos you would want to see in the future? Glad my channel can be helpful for you!

@@GriffinConway 😁
Well Done Griffin love you videos man!!!
Thank you! I appreciate the support bro!
nice job on the canon sponser brother ! that’s dope💪🏽
Thanks so much Olin!
So happy I found your channel. Love all your videos. Maybe one day it would be cool to do a video just on neat semi affordable lenses that u have or use, like the Helios etc
Thanks man!
I will keep that in mind! I have a set of the Ironglass helios rehoused lenses on order. I will do a review on those once I get them for sure.
Cool video, I always enjoy the behind the scenes of how and why something was done. Do you have or are thinking of making a video about the C70 with Nov firmware update? I’d love to know more about the improvements. I just ordered a C70 so looking for any guidance.
Thanks
Great content! I was one of the early subscribers, good to see the channel grow and Canon made a good decision in sponsoring this. Keep it up brother!
Thanks so much for the support! Really appreciate you supporting the channel 🙌
Awesome job!
Thanks!
Excellent, Griffin. I have been bouncing back and forth whether to get a c70 of r5c. The decision is getting easier. Thanks for sharing.
Great video man, I learn so much from your vids : ) Just a note is that when you use 120fps you do lose some dynamic range due to the C70 losing the ability to use the NGO feature of the sensor. What this means is your shadows are a tiny bit noisier than usual due to the camera losing about 2 stops of dynamic range in the shadows. In the day, this is hardly noticeable, but in darker scenes you can tell. You can easily denoise the footage thouggh, as the c70 noise pattern is really nice. Also, the canon raw LT can shoot up to 60fps, so 120 will be in MXF/mp4 422. I own a c70 and I love the camera, so please don't let these things put you off, but I thought it would be good to know! Keep up the great vids lads!
Hey Griffin, you've been missed. Another great video.
Thank you Alvin! It's a struggle finding the work/life balance and trying to throw youtube in the mix, but definitely trying planning to be more consistent on here! Thanks for the support.
Congrats getting sponsored by Canon, that’s awesome! 👏👏
Thank you Justin! I really appreciate the support bro!
Bronco's... Canon... MMA... yes I concur!! Great work. Really nice look. The Cine Canon lens has a really nice look too.
Haha we have all the same interests Scottie! Thanks for the support brother.
Good call on the zoom. Early on I was shooting with primes on the car rig a lot but man...once I got a full FIZ system setup with a cinema zoom it made everything so much easier and more efficient.
Totally! Definitely won’t shoot another commercial without a zoom
We
Congrats on the collab with Canon
Thanks so much Bryan! Hope you are doing well my friend!
Been struggling with creativity with my C70, still learning the camera capabilities. Lovely work as always.
I have a video coming that I think you will like. It talks about getting creatively inspired. Hoping to drop it tomorrow.
Sick video man! I own a C70 and have no regrets coming from the R5!
The R5 is great for hybrid work, but I definitely prefer the c70 for video work. Glad to hear you are loving it!
thanks for sharing man!
Thank you!
Looks great! Glad Canon is recognizing you and your helpful content! I'm curious what was causing the ghosting in some of the shots?
Thanks for the support Chris! I noticed that as well. It is from a 4x5.65 filter we used in the matte box that caused it. I'll add that to my list of mistakes while shooting cars😂
@@GriffinConway Gotcha! I figured it was a filter of some kind, it wasn’t super distracting.
Very interesting!!
Thanks for watching!
Amazing Video and Work. i have been following your channel...
I can not find in your "Description Section".. anything on the Equipment/Gear Details you used...
Another great video as always Griffin!! Congratulations on the Canon sponsor, that’s really a testament to your quality of work and your reach. The footage you captured looks absolutely stunning.
Thank you so much! I really appreciate the support and kind words!

LETS GOOOO
My dudddde
Ford Bronco with Sasquatch package...my Dream vehicle.
Thanks Josh! It's a great vehicle and perfect for camera car stuff!
Hi Griffin awesome footage 🔥 but I did a notice a lot of the Bronco footage including also your talking A footage got a square in the middle making more saturation. Do you got an issue with your sensor ?
Good eye. It was actually an error on exporting on my end. Thanks for watching!
I noticed that too and was wondering if it was my monitor, lol. Regardless, Awesome video Griffen. Your videos are very insightful and actually persuaded me into getting one in the 1st place. Keep up the good work!
Where was this shot?!
so rad!
This was in Ocotillo wells near the California/Mexico border!
This is the exact rig I’m going for!! Can you please tell me how your controlling the C70 remotely? This is the last piece of the puzzle for me.
The c70 has start/stop from the nucleus M run stop cable. I also use the bright tangerine expert kit with the ronin 2
@@GriffinConway Awesome thanks so much!!
Looks great, quick cine glass query for C70.. Are you running EF mount, so speedboosted with focus assist or PL?
On this one we used the metabones RF to PL adapter, and used PL mount on the 15.5 to 47 lens. The main reason for that was because it is a super 35 lens and doesn't cover full frame.
I would also add, perhaps some wide landscape shots if the environment plays a role in the commercial 'Undertaking harsh conditions, tumble weed, road lizards etc.
Definitely! Those are always great to have
I love my c70. I wish it had SDI out and a digital viewfinder. Amazing cinema camera.
Agreed I really wish it had SDI, that's the one thing it is missing for me.
If you like the C70, then you should try the R5 C as B-cam and for stills to pair it with. Perfect combo.
I haven't tried out the r5c, but I would be open to it for sure.
@@GriffinConway Hey Griffin , If you do happen to try the R5C by any chance I would love to hear your thoughts on it, right now I am deciding between the C70 and R5C
What is the name of the stabilizer that you used on the back of the car.

Hey Griffin, general question. I´m considering to build myself a C70 RIG. However I have seen some UA-camrs complain about color shifts or fringing/ artefacts when using the 0.71x Speedbooster to shoot in a wider angle. Your images look so clean, do you only use RF glass directly on the mount or have you ever experienced some kind of image problems when shooting with fullframe and speedbooster?
I don't own any RF glass. I am using the speedbooster the majority of the time. On this shoot we used a combination of the Canon speedbooster and an RF to PL adapter with canon cine glass. I personally love the speedbooster. The color fringing / flaring is pretty minor IMO. Feel free to check out the C70 rig video on my channel to see the setup I prefer.
@GriffinConway I would love to help on any of your projects! As Drone or Stills.
Rad! Shoot me a dm on IG @griffinconway
On my current camera, when capturing moving cars, I am getting some some fun jello effect on the cars when it hits bumps. I am looking to upgrade and wondering how do you find the C70 in regards to not distorting the target car well recording?
Sounds like your camera suffers from rolling shutter. The c70 has minimal rolling shutter and I don’t find it to be an issue for me at all.
@@GriffinConway I currently have the EOSR and yes it really does. I've been looking to upgrade and the c70 is now definitely on that short list. Thanks for your insight.
How does the canon lens compare to the DZO film you used for the bike commercial though?
Also just curious if canon sponsored this video, why didn’t they lend you an EOS R5C haha. Instead, you used an EOS R.
Different lenses for different use. I like the canon better for car stuff. I love how the wide angle looks at 15.5mm. Canon provided a c70 for the video review but the EOS R was just what we had available for stills. Actually I had planned on using my r3 but I forgot it at my house lol
👏👏👏👏👏
Thanks for the support Matthew!
Did you just use the internal NDs or a polariser filter on the lens too?
I used the internal ND's and a 4x5.65 1/4 mist filter from NISI
@@GriffinConway How'd you get the polarization effect look with just ND? Was it the angle?
What mounting rig did you invest in?
It was this one bhpho.to/3FmEfpq
Yes
🙌🙌
What do you use for slow motion
I use 120fps on the c70
I need to get a C70 soon.
It’s such a great camera! Feel free to use the link below to show support to the channel!
I'm curious... was this a one day/afternoon shoot or two?
This was one day. We started around 3pm and wrapped around 7pm.
@Griffin Conway impressive.
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
2:08 what are these weird lines left and right 1/3 of the screen?
It was an error on my end during export unfortunately
Yo griff!
Epic to see you here! So cool. Hit me up!
Yo Raffi! Good seeing you on here brother!
Where's the commercial?
The beginning of the video shows one version, and there were multiple other version for social/web etc.
