As a Nigerian who loves plantain I will say that when a plantain is very ripe it gets a very nice sweet flavor. Some may like it when it’s not too ripe but me personally I like eating it when it is very ripe because it is less dry and because it has a better flavor

Some places will use a subí which will internally cook the meat to the required safe temperature allowing you to eat it while pregnant. So if I was you I would always double check with the chef and ask if it’s okay to eat
