At time of filming S2 Pro is only $499 on both Hiboy Website & Amazon! Ninebot Max claims to have a 40 mile range, but most Ninebot testing show only 21-22 mile range. Hiboy advertises an impressive 25 mile range and costs WAY LESS than the Ninebot. Is the Hiboy S2 Pro electric scooter too good to be true? I will say we were surprised with the results and experience. Then we bumped into other Hiboy e-scooter owners and asked them for a real review.

Okay escooter aside, i just subscribed because of how friendly and respectful you were when walking up to the fellow scooter owners. So cool that he wanted to go for a ride and you jumped on the opportunity, you dont see that kind of humanity much anymore, especially in major cities
Gave the kid & his dad some money later when I bumped into him on the trail again. They helped the video credibility by giving their honest opinions of the brand. My favorite part of being a UA-camr is connecting with people….not the money. I have no desire for things and money. I crave adventures and life experiences. Sure some of those things require money, but most just come from meeting new people and being invited along. Because I’m extroverted & talk to everyone I’ve been invited to do craziest things…like scuba dive for ice age mammoth bones. Thanks for the comment and stopping by. 😊👊
For $500 seems like a blast. Imma grab one. Could use this scooter to get around campus. Wouldn’t have an excuse tho being late to class if I had it. 😂
I absolutely love this scooter! It's a little bit of a rough ride, but you don't have to worry about flat tires. Perfect speed. I love the cruise control. Brake systems are great!!! Overall a great scooter at a great price!!!
I agree. You can’t beat the price for what it delivers. For a $500 or less scooter it is hard to beat the Hiboy S2 Pro.
Thanks Justin! Great vid. Wanted e-bikes at first but couldn’t figure out how to take them all along with our camper. Also decent e-bikes cost more tire maintenance/chains/etc. like that these are lower maintenance. We live mile from beach & will use these a ton! Thanks!
Glad I could help!❤
Excellent review. Thank you. I was worried about range and weight, but you addressed these concerns thoroughly.
I’m glad you liked it. I surprised my dad with this escooter when he came down to help us with our house after the hurricane. I snuck it in his backseat. I that escooter. Luckily, InMotion contacted me to review The Climber which is a similar size scooter. So coming up very soon is a review for that scooter. It is bit more expensive at around $699-799 but has a lot more power for climbing hills (1500w peak), bit more speed, about 10 more miles of range, tubed tires with unique fast change design, and similar portability to Hiboy S2Pro in terms of size. You can’t go wrong with either escooter for the money. Just one might suit you better. Stay tuned. Thanks for watching. ❤️
THANK YOU SIR!!!
Was eyeballing the Segway and the ISinwheel. But for what i need, this is PERFECT!!!
Gonna get one ...ASAP👍🏽
This is the best Hiboy S2 Pro video I’ve found. I just recently purchased one and I’m definitely purchasing a seat because of your video. This is a very detailed review and I thank you for it.
Thanks so much for the feedback. It keeps me inspired to improving and making the best content I can.
so far totally worth it, zips me along for miles, gets a lot of errands done, and do some site seeing sometimes
Thanks for the feedback!!
Glad you like it. My dad liked mine so much he took it with him back to Iowa. I kinda owed him anyway for helping us rebuild our house after the hurricane. Plan to get another scooter soon. I kinda prefer e-scooters over e-bike due to portability. S2 Pro is a great value when you look at specs and build quality. Easily my favorite e-scooter when it is under $500. Above $500 the competition gets more competitive. It is hard to beat S2 Pro for reliability and performance at around $500 or less.
You're riding around Lakes Park, huh? Pleasant little surprise while watching you review this scooter.
Good eye. I got two more electric transportation options that I will be reviewing. Also if you are into boats I have a crazy cool product hitting market soon.
Picking up this scooter on Friday and my jaw dropped when I seen how accessible extra parts are! Being able to fix what is broken instead of scrapping it and getting a new one is ideal for me and that sadly isn’t common anymore!
I like it when companies make their products user serviceable. I hate investing in something and then not being able to service it or continue enjoying it due to maintenance issues. I gave this scooter to my dad and he uses it daily. No issues. He came to help us fix our house post hurricane so I surprised him with it because I knew how much he liked playing with it.
Is it still working?
@@lil_grogu89abuelo59 yupp!
Wow this thing looks awesome!
Got one on fb marketplace for 200 and I’ve been having a blast on it!
Would be great for liveaboard boat or sailboat! Can even fit in dinghy easily. I’m looking at a used Gulfstar 44 if I get it I may need to grab one as a way to get around when I’m in ports. At $500 I would say it looks like a solid buy.
Definitely would be great for those on liveaboard / sailboats. By the way that is my goal in life. Want to sail around the world.
I just purchased.. I can’t wait for it to arrive
I almost got e-bike for myself. Kind of liking the portability of this and price point. For price of e-bikes I looked at I could get 3 of these for the family to enjoy. You were really moving fast! Likely would make a seat mount with rod holders. I would just use to go to beach for fishing. We are about mile away from beach.
I love my e-bike, but this e-scooter is tons of fun and way more portable. This is becoming an addiction almost like my hoard of kayaks! I think I have about 30 kayaks now.
I own this model of escooter. I ride to the grocery store, fold it and set it in the shopping cart, set it in the taxi with my groceries...going for a meal around town is great, no parking issues, fold it and take it inside...folded, it fits in my closet at home...
Tiller bag, one shopping bag on the hook, and a backpack on me lets me carry a fair amount of items, when needed.
Only thing i am not impressed with is the headlight, high position, and not the brightest led available. I attached a kiddy bar quite low on my tiller and a flashlight mount to the kiddy bar. Much better result.
Brighter light, closer to the ground, angled much better for drivers of cars i meet...
My scooter arrives today so excited to ride it!
Thanks for the review. I just purchased one, and saved a little money!
No problem. Glad I could help. I snuck this scooter into my dad’s truck. He came to help us fix our flooded house. He had a blast using it so I surprised him with it and snuck it into his truck before he drove 26hrs back to Iowa. He uses it every day to go to work and buzz around town. He loves it. I’m getting more requests to review e-bikes/scooters so I’m being selective and trying to film products worthy of your time to watch. Hiboy S2 Pro is a nice compact commuter scooter I already miss and I might buy one for myself again. Just fun to sometimes spoil my parents. They have been so supportive of my career in UA-cam. 😊
Thanks!
got mine last year. 100% worth it. it has been really reliable and is a really fun activity. if your in the market for a cheaper scooter, this is the one.
Just got one 2 days ago. It’s about to be midnight and I’m gonna go for a ride😂😂😂
One question, Can more than one scooter be programmed into the app. For instance, if you have four scooters on there you can control the Lock mode of all four of them on one app?
Great review! Just ordered on Amazon for $450!
Thank you for the review! Now I could see why my friends would thus eletric scooter. But my question is where can you buy this scooter??
Just bought one. Waiting on it to come in the mail! $399 is what I paid on amazon. I have a lectric xp 2.0 that I have had for the last 2 years and love that but I am doing a lot more traveling and camping and only have a honda civic hatchback so room is an issue! But this should be a great solution and I might be able to go just as far as I can on my lectric. I normally get 20 miles out of the bike on pedal assist 3 and this may get me close!
*Yeah noticed the $80 off coupon on Amazon.* Great deal! amzn.to/4bOvemb
Great review!
Nice review!
Thanks. My dad came with large trailer to help us rebuild after hurricane destroyed our home. He liked the Hiboy a lot. So I snuck it inside the trailer as a surprise for when he got back home. He loves it. I can’t keep everything I get. Viewers want to see new things, and I have limited space. I’m getting tons of businesses requesting scooter reviews. Many suck. I’m trying to get a deal to review a little more expensive VARLA with off-road capabilities. They just want too much from me. Going to still do boat content. These are just fun filler videos between aquatic content. In fact I have a huge boat product I’ve been keeping secret on. Going to be huge.
@@KayakDIY Am sorry about the destruction the hurricane caused to your home! I hope you and your father have lots of fun and never let anything bring you two and your whole family down! Good luck with your endeavors! You just earned a new subscriber!✌️
It’s pretty good for what it is. My main complaints are the solid tires can be slippery, and you do have to kick it up hills. It’s the first PEV I bought, I’ve largely given it over to my 10 year old daughter, but it works for what it is and I’m glad to have gone down the PEV road. I bought an ebike and ultimately got into electric unicycles, which you can’t beat for capability and portability. I’ve cut out a lot of my driving.
Thanks for the feedback and discussion. It is definitely a blast. I am loving these electric alternative modes of transportation. I have a new item coming tomorrow in shipment and another next week. Stay tuned for more electric transportation reviews and discussions.
What size motor is it? 300W or the 500w? Thinking of getting my son a scooter
@@adrianloma1769 500W. I’m 5’-11”, 220 lbs, and I do have to push it up hills (west of DC, some pretty big hills). My daughter is 90 pounds, it takes her up no problem.

That's an great price for the bang we've been thinking about getting something battery powered to put in the Camper for when we go to state parks
Come visit me and you can try mine out before you buy. You’ll love it. It is a freaking blast and you can take it anywhere. Probably going to take it to ICAST tradeshows when I film there. 😊👊
Wife and I would use the heck out of these I like the seat option! Where is best place to buy?
I’m buying via his Amazon link. I have bunch of Amazon credit since I have a prime credit card and bought all my college books with it. 😂
had mine 1 year the vibration broke the rear finder and the rear axal bolt is trash vibration made it back out and strip .. and it way to short ... but all in all easy to work on ... why the rear axal is held by 2 small bolts and not a fixed bolt is a bad design flaw ... just a heads up
My opinion after buying three of them several years ago: Go with something else in the similar price range. Of the three, only one was still operational, and now (as of tonight) none of them are. All are down due to error codes. Oh, they make a fix for the error code, in the form of spending $140 to replace each handlebar. Apparently their early runs had bad electrical connections. They know it is a design flaw, yet still charge for the replacement part. Ridiculous.
Are newer production fixed?
@@damnitdang possibly. My neighbor has two, and they seem to still work normally, but it's been less than a year also.
You are an angel in disguise. I was just thinking about buying this for my job in New Jersey. Can’t afford to be stuck that far away from home, or miss my second job.
@@fakhrwalker2676 Bro... go with literally anyone else Stateside.
What about hill climb? My daughter's commute to class at college has a few steep hills (10°+).
Im getting one for the boardwalk and it's gonna be a rough ride!
I did ride on the dock and it was a little rough but tolerable “in my opinion”. I wouldn’t want to sit down on seat and ride boardwalk, but standing is ok because people forget your legs act as natural shock absorbers.
I hate that I’m considering this because I have 50s and gopeds but have been in trouble and am without a car until October. Last thing I want is to be stopped rn because I’m on a 50 or gas scooter running errands.
can you add turn signals? thx
My wife and I have the S2 and the S2 Pro. I wish we had turn signals.
Quick question, are the handlebars resizeable? Or if not how tall are they
From the foot deck to the handlebar - 40 inches. Not adjustable.
Got mine on sale last week for 300 bucks. Honesty loving it.
You got the s2 pro for 300??
@@yungmattress4701nahh lol
Could you please tell me more about how it does going uphill? Do you have to push to “help”?
Depends on the grade of hill. The bumpy bridge in video had a slope which was at or exceeding Hiboy rating…and with momentum I ripped over it no problem. With no momentum starting at base of steepest bridge I could still climb but speed was only about 6-7mph uphill due to motor doing all the work. I didn’t have to assist or kick though. The motor could do it all. I will say kicking the scooter without motor doing work is possible and very little resistance is noted. This is good if the battery were to ever die. This would not be a e-scooter for crazy San Francisco trolley hills. Great for mostly flat terrain and the occasional short runs of steep hills are achievable with momentum. 😊
@@KayakDIY Thank you so much for that info!
@KayakDIY
6-7 mph with a 500W motor? Looking to get one for my son to get to and from school
Can you change the LED light to a different color?
gotta get on the inside, i’m working on mine now
How do you tell if regenerative brakes are working??
Well when I hit the regenerative brake it definitely slows down the scooter but in a more smoother fashion than the hydraulic disk brakes. This allows regen braking power to get put back into battery. Not sure how to double check it is actually putting power in. I’m sure there is a way.
love cruise control and no flat tires
Two huge selling points.
Nice! What is the load capacity?
About 220 pounds
@@nube_master69 😤 Thanks
I'm 205 and road mine comfortably. My friend is 315lbs and bodybuilder...he has ridden his 220lb rated similar scooter likely thousands of miles. It isn't what manufacturer recommends, but often they set ratings much lower than what they really can handle.
I had one of these hiboy scooters then it broke in only 1 month, the good thing is that I did not pay 500, I paid 150 because it was not new
Did you find out what was the issue?
@@hhova29 battery issue
I ordered it and it’s coming in 8 days, got a big discount too and only had to pay 350 for it.
how ? Can you help me with that
What is the difference between the non pro??
More powerful motor, larger tires, bigger foot deck, larger battery capacity, and higher carry weight than the S1 or S2 models...
Looks great I’d wear a helmet and elbow pads for sure
I’m looking into helmets 👍
Need to find one that works for higher speeds. Not a basic Walmart one. Some have turning lights built in.
I wana use the app but it asked for a password what password? No one gave me a password
S2/S2pro/S2R : app “Hiboy S2”, password is “888888.” How to set and restore the default password? Long press the electronic brake and the switch button for more than 5 seconds simultaneously.
*HOPE THIS HELPS YOU. THANKS FOR WATCHING THE VIDEO! ENJOY THE SCOOTER!*
Sincerely,
KayakDIY
Thinking about buying one since my car is gonna cost over $1000 to repair. How is it’s longevity?
Are you referring to range or are you referring to durability?
The way I drive it I was achieving minimum of 15-18 mile range. They advertise 25 mile range, but that is likely with very low speed and super light rider. I am 6ft 2in tall and 205lbs. I also drive in middle speeds most of the time.
@@KayakDIY I’m referring to durability. Like, can one of these be used daily for several months as a work transporter? I only live a couple miles from work but there are some relatively steep and long hills.
@@oahts5906 I surprised my dad with this scooter after I reviewed it. My dad used it daily to get around town. My mom also uses it. They love it. No issues. I would say it is built well. If it does have issues it is nice that the company offers parts, plus any issues would likely be under warranty.
The steep hills is a slight concern. I can’t tell you if it will work for your hills. It did pretty good job though with hills and I felt manufacturer slope rating was accurate.
Imo it’s the best scooter $500 can buy
Fun fact: aircraft grade aluminum is just aluminum
And that's real.
I just found one on the side of the dumpster today I guess someone ate shit and the cables all got snapped
I already fixed and rode it

Those two reasons alone make it a better choice in my opinion.
i cant hit max speed :( lmao but im 230 lol.. i think my speed thing might be broken tho stays at 14 going down hill
Did you double check what speed mode you are in? Are you in sport mode which is faster or eco mode which limits speed to around 14mph? Also double check speed limit settings using the app. I’m still learning the app system and scooter, but I came across ability to limit speed via the app. I don’t know what things you have tried.
@@KayakDIY yea i messed around in my app and check limits.... so when i first got it i would hit 15mph on a flat, now after 2 weeks i only max out at 13, and after that it stops giving power... when befor it would keep trying to give power even if i was at 15... aka the green/red bars at top.... most iv done in app was just look at tbh, never changed anything.. its pretymuch same for both eco and sport/////// seems like problems started after i connected with app
ok that was last edit lol
Check your cruise control settings. If it activates, it will cap at whatever the setting is at...in the app...
I did end up fixing. I just had to toggle cruise controll on and off.. somehow lagged and thought it was still on when it wast.... BUT it took a few tris.. didn't work first few times for some reason
Is 30kmh fast??
My city has a speed limit of 40 kmh in town. This escooter will do 30 kmh...25% slower than the speed limit for road vehicles....
Speed limit is 50kmh in most residential areas
I saw one for $400
tubeless tires????? the s2 pro has solid honeycomb tires not tubeless
Correct. Semantics in my head told me tubeless because you don’t fill them with air. Clearly solids and tubeless mean different things in this world of scooters. You got tube tires, tubeless tires, and solid tires. S2 pro is solid tires. Less shock absorption, but headache free and reliable. I wish my InMotion climber had solid tires. I plan to try swapping the tubed tires on it for aftermarket solids when I get a flat tire. For a commuter scooter setup solids is way better. Nothing sucks more than having a flat when you are in a hurry to go somewhere.
havaguday
19mph, it´s a no for me. booooring...
It is a commuter scooter just designed to be portable, affordable, and reliable. It isn't a high performance E-scooter like Nami Burn-e or Kaabo Wolf Warrior 11, etc....
What a lame, boring comment.
Never ride an e scooter one handed, unless you want to kiss the tarmack
I urge anyone thinking about buying one of these to NOT buy one. Dealing with this company has been such a frustrating, exhausting experience.
I purchased my scooter in November 2022 and used it for about 6 months. One day, my scooter's battery stopped working for no reason and would not charge when I plugged it in. Good thing I purchased the 2 year extended warranty plan for instances like this right? Wrong. Hiboy is trying to tell me that the battery warranty only lasts 6 months and that the extended warranty plan kicks in after 1 year of use, so there is effectively a 6 month dead period where there is no warranty coverage for the scooter. This is never advertised when you are choosing to pay the additional $55 for the 2 year extended warranty plan that covers situations like this. I have been jerked around by their customer service for over a month now as I try to get a new scooter or battery from them, yet they refuse to acknowledge the issues here. They insist on giving me a 20% discount for a new battery, but I refuse to pay over $100 for a new battery when it should be covered by the company. Their customer service is the worst I have ever experienced and I highly recommend you do not buy from this company. If you have the choice, go elsewhere so that you don’t end up in the same situation
Perhaps you know kayaks, but you sure don't know e-scooters - 3 big thumbs down!!
So what is your complaint? What did I not explain well? What is your critique?
No doubt I know kayaks and boats much more than just about any topic. What could I do better for you?
Watching someone unpacking a box has got to be the nost boring things to watch. Like why do you people wait to start recording to do that?
I agree. Some people want to know how it is shipped and assembled. However, in future I will try to keep unboxing scenes to absolute minimum. Thanks for the feedback.
Very very bad scooter. In 3 years, 2 broken motors, disaster.
How many reviews are you in the comments saying the same thing
@@badlands5527 not in enough reviews .... is a really bad scooter
