So I have a (slightly) funny period story for you. I was at summer camp, and like four of us synched up. And we all had our periods the entire week of camp, so everyday before we left for breakfast we had a checklist of things we needed. So on about the third day I realized my tampon was leaking so I went to grab a pad from my purse and remembered I'd left it in the room. There was an occupied stall on either side of me and one of my best friends was standing near the stalls waiting her turn. So I yelled about as loud as I could, "I have bled through my tampon! Someone help!" And a pad and tampon slid under the stall to my right, and when I got out my friend gave me one two. And so we all just talked about our periods in a library bathroom and I swear that's the most open I've ever been about my period and it felt awesome to just talk like normal people about something our bodies do naturally.
I'm going to camp in a few days and guess who's decided it will be the perfect time to come you guessed right wish me luck lol

@@AudreyBrown08 thankfully I have friends going but I'm just worried about getting up in the morning and leaking before I can get to the bathroom because they are in a whole different building than the cabins. I sound like I haven't been dealing with my period for over two years and am fully prepared lol

Ok so I haven't actually started yet ( i'm 15) but always carry pads around with me just in case. One day, a teenage girl, looked around my age, frantically ran up to me and was like
"please tell me you have a pad or tampon"
"oh, i do!" I said as i opened the pack and passed it to her
"Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!"
"You're so welcome, i always carry spares"
That girl's face of relief when i gave her a pad made my day!

another way to check yourself if no one else is there to help you (or if you’re too shy to ask someone) is to go into a stall and take off your pants and look. i never feel completely safe until i do that lol.

I have a tip for dealing with the waterfall. Make sure your pad is far enough up in the front and before u get out of bed lay on your stomach. When u are on your stomach slowly lift your hips up. It let's your slowly release the stuff into your pad so u have more control.

About the day 2 thing, I quite relate to that. I can be having no cramps on day one, and my periods last around 4/5 days, with little to no cramps on day 3/4/5. On day 2, though..

I have had one of the WORST PERIOD STORY EVER. So it was birthday and I thought my period was over and I was in class then I realized I bled through my shorts. My teacher noticed and asked where I was bleeding from and EVERYONE WATCHED it was so embarrassing so I lied and asked to go to the nurse. The class I was in was near the gym so i took a jacket around my waist to cover up the stain and it was really big and they had a class so I ran up the steps and got out of there.What was bad enough is I needed my phone to call my mom cuz I bled through my shorts and my underwear and a whole heck of a mess when I went to the next. I managed to figure out a way to deal with it and ended up making it to class. Then some kid make a snarky comment on what took so long. It was the best but also the worst birthday of my LIFE!

I remember when I had covid and got my period , on the last day I looked at my pad and found that it's green and thought the blood was green 💀💀💀💀💀💀💀 I was convinced the blood was green for 5 months until I realised that the discharge mixed with the discharge which was green because I was sick
For some reason, I was imagining a glowing-like neon green pad and was very concerned and confused for a second. Then I remembered that for stuff like this it's that dark olive/swampy green 😂.

For the longest time, I didn't use tampons (just pads), but I carried them anyway just in case someone asked me for a tampon... Now I use a cup but still carry tampons haha.
I always get super emotional the week before my period and thankfully my husband is great about giving hugs and cuddles whenever I need them. I have to say the first day is always the worst for me, like I have to skip school and work and lay around all day popping pain meds while my husband gets VERY concerned.
And I'm with you on lacy underwear. I love my stretchy cotton undies. Typically, I wear white undies but I have colored ones specifically for my period because I'm done trying to get those stains out...

the days leading up to my period and day 1 and day 2 are the WORST for me. it’s like Mother Nature is preparing a 4-course-meal for me and when the meal is finally ready the appetizer is a knuckle sandwich. the minute I see blood on that first day that’s its only a matter of time before cramps, cravings, fatigue, and Niagara Falls hits me HARDD. luckily from about the middle of day 3 until my period ends are relatively mild

Also me and my bff every time we showed up waring baggy clothes and all black waist down, that's when we knew. Then, when it was recess, we would go to the very edge with no monitors or kids and trade pads, chocolate, and ibuprofens, one kid got they're backpack searched for having ibuprofen, another got detention for having chocolate, and trading pads and tampons is plain embarrassing when your on your first couple of months of periods. We would scarf the chocolate down like we were gonna get arrested if a kid or recess monitor saw us, then we would "change" during bathroom breaks, and we would always take stalls next to each other, slide pads and tampons under the stall and hope nobody saw. There's no period boxes at my school so all of the girls would wrap up they're used stuff in toilet paper and then threw it in the trash and covered it up with paper towels.
The day two is by far the most relatable
I got my period last month on a plane. There was three men behind me and I asked the flight attendant for something she handed me an ultra tampon so I said okay thanks went back in the stall threw it away used toilet paper then had another 13 hours of traveling and didn’t tell my mom
Does your mom still not know?? Also, why'd you throw it away XD. I probably would've used toilet paper too, but I'd still put it in my bag, maybe someone will need one some day.

hi these can definitely be period symptoms! I recommend staying hydrated, drink a LOT of water. you need to in general but especially when on your period!

A few weeks ago, I was going out and wanted to wear a pretty (mostly white) dress I have but was conflicted because I wanted to look cute but also I was bleeding and wanted to be comfortable. In the end, I decided to wear a romper because I didn't want to put in effort.

For the shower one I get toilet paper, crumple it up, and just shove it in between my legs then do my hair/makeup/face routine, then clean myself up and put on my underwear with a brand new pad 😂

I only just started my period and im glad i know im not the only one who does this
So I have a really short period, it’s only 4 days, and day one and two ARE HORRIBLE I have the heaviest flow and the worst cramps ever. Day 3 and 4 are usually bearable and not bad bad a light flow.
Im actually always wearing period underwear, it’s just so comfortable and I have enough pairs so it’s normally my go to even when I’m not on my period.
And my first day is always my worst. I sometimes throw up it’s so bad on day 1. Day 2 is better but still bad. 3 is getting better. The rest are normally painless.
My day one and day two of my period is always the worst flow and pain wise. Also love your period videos so helpful and funny 😅❤

Days 1 and 2 I usually have my worst cramps and heaviest bleeding. I remember in high school, two months in a row, I missed the morning classes of school because all I could do was take meds and go back to bed with a heating pad. Endometriosis sucks!
As far as the lacy underwear, I can't wear anything that has around the leg holes, or any scratchy lace period, due to texture issues and the fact that it just drives me up a wall!
Day 2 is the worst day for me on my period and then Day 3 after that it starts calming down.

Day 2 and 3 are the worst for me. Also, I either have a migraine before, after... but if it's at the same time as my period: it's a nightmare (higher chance of passing out). PS. the thought of chocolate makes me cringe because it definitely wasn't a positive thing for me (deadly cramps+migraine amplified).
Day 2 is the worst for me! Also, magnesium can sometimes help with period migraines. That's also why woman crave chocolate because dark chocolate is high in magnesium. Sorry to hear that you had a bad chocolate experience. Sending you lots of love!
