Hello again,I’m three years on from my hemi glossectomy next March 1st. Two biopsies in that time, both negative. I don’t eat spicy food, oranges or anything sharp. Other than that I’m back up to 17 stone (from 13 post op) and must start watching my weight. I eat on both sides thanks to your tip, which helps. I eat more slowly and dribble a bit, but easily manageable. I am now 65 shortly by the way. Take heart anyone in the early stages. Thanks.
Hello, I’m 6 weeks post OP. I had the same as yourself other than I had a tracheotomy for the first 5 days. I’m doing pretty well I can eat pretty much what I want, I am careful though. My speech is slightly slurred as my tongue is still swollen. My neck feels stiff at times but I’ve followed your exercises, definitely helped. My advice is to anyone is go get checked out, dont leave it. I caught mine early and Nottingham Queens medical centre have been amazing ❤

Try the tongue exercises, took me a year but the 60% of my original tongue is now a strong muscle. Good luck with your recovery. Janet
I have lost all sense of taste because of my mouth cancer.
