It’s about a woman pleading with her ex lover so that he will lover her again. The title means so that you love me again/still. When she has done this song live she often says that it’s about loving someone so much that you are prepared to give up everything on earth for that person’s love in return. In fact right at the end she says ‘I will turn myself to gold, so that you love me still.’ Hope that helps. And a huge thank you for reacting to this song. You are amazing.

My favorite female artist of all time. Literally have every album. One of her most powerful songs (imo) is “Sorry for Love.” She holds a note in that song that literally stopped me from breathing for a minute.

This song is the epitome of music transcending language. If you can love it without understanding every word then you have created magic! The title is So That You Love Me Again or another version If That's What It Takes on Celine's Falling Into You album.

In the video, she's basically casting spells to get her love back. One the lines, loosely translated is 'I'll use the words of African medinine men, and say them without remorse" (les maribous d'Afrique). There's a lot of great poetry in these lyrics.

French music is a lot about the lyrics. They're not just "yeah baby all night yo yo"... This song is a brilliant poem on top of being a production and interpretation masterpiece. Céline is a SUCH A GENIUS, even non-francophones can appreciate the song. The last verse is also WHOLE FIFTH HIGHER than the rest of the song to make it a lot more intense. Genius.

    translate
    The words all made sense
You were very clear , and I thank you
In the new light of day it is clear things have changed,
that the flowers have wilted and the past is anew.
And as all things fade and die, so must love also pass.

    You need to know

I'll search for your heart, If you take it elsewhere
even if when you dance others' dance in your time
I'll search for your soul in the ice and the flames,
I'll spin you a curse that you should love me again.
That you should love me again

You Should not have begun, drawn me or touched me,
I Should not have given so much, I don't know how to play
I am told that these days
    That others do the same
But I am not others, No No,
Before we entwine together, before we spoil all together.

    I want you to know..

I'm will look for your heart, if you take it elsewhere
Even if in your dance others dance in your time
I'll look for your soul in the ice and the flames
I'll spin you a curse that you love me again.

I'll find the right language to sing your praises
I'll find the space for harvests to come24
    Magical African chants
    I will sing without shame
    That you love me again

I' will be crowned Queen, that you'll stay with me
I' will be reborn, that the flame will relight
I'll become all the things that your pleasure will seek
Your games we be ours if that is your wish tonight
More brilliant, more beautiful for one more spark
I'll become made of Gold, if you love me once more

That you would love me once more
That you would love me once more
