- I decided to do the anti-tbr tag! This tag was originally created by Nicole & Her Books (video link down below). These are just my opinions on the books that I have no interest in reading. Please take no offense. And if you're interested in doing this video yourself, then tag- you're it! If not, let me know down below how you would answer some of these questions 😃

No CoHo & No ACOTAR? Subscribed ! 😂 I agree with a lot of these ! ❤
haha appreciate this! 😂
Acotar sounds interesting 🤔 to me. But Coho definitely not 🚫. No offense 😬. Maybe I'll read Sarah J Mass sometime in the future 😄. ❤. Keep up the amazing 💪🏻 content 👍🏻. Your voice is very soothing, by the way. 😊❤
This is the first time I've heard of an anti-TBR. Thanks for tagging all of us. 😂
of course! I really do love watching these videos- so the more, the better!
I LOVE AN ANTI-TBR!!!! This is fantastic! I would love to see more of these!
So fun! I’d like to see more current ones too!!
We love this😂❤
secret history is so fair. i’m reading it rn and it’s so hard to get into it. there’s so much that feels unimportant.
acotar i think people say you have to power through the first book bc the next books deal with a different relationship. you could honestly read acotar as a stand alone and be satisfied. you could also only read the first 3 and be satisfied. imo.
Oooh I actually hadn’t heard that take on ACOTAR. I’ve also heard that there’s not great world building? Which is a bit of a turn off for me, but I can appreciate that there are other aspects to the series so many people adore!
also i agree with everyone else once you get past the first book it skyrockets but i know i cant convince you and i respect our decision i dont want to be a toxic book girlie
Hahah appreciate that respect :)
The Secret History is one of my all time favourites but i knew going into it that it was very up my alley haha I'm right there with you on ACOTAR though!
I know it is a loved book by many. Maybe I’ll eat my words in the future! Hah
The Secret History is my least favorite Donna Tartt book. I'm not much of a fantasy reader but I did love The Hobbit and LOTR. Blake Crouch is a mixed bag for me but I'm always wondering if the physics even makes any sense. Fun video!
Thanks you! Always appreciate your thoughts. A little side note: I'm about halfway through The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. I was struggling to get through the first little bit, but kept thinking of your previous comment that it gets better. Indeed it does!
@@mansparekh Glad to hear it!
As hard core mood reader, I get not being ready to read something. For me, A Little Life, Colleen Hoover, SJM, Fourth Wing, dark romance in general, grimdark fantasy, most historical fiction, romantasy and contemporary M/F romance. Anything too triggering with regard to SA and child abuse. Super long books in general, especially "classics". That sounds like a lot, but there are still many, many fine books out there. If someone I trust recs one of those I might try, but really, my physical TBR is massive and I doubt I'll get to it too soon.
I sound so negative, but I love SF, fantasy, mysteries, spy thrillers, Regency romances, lit fic, short story anthologies of all genres, some horror, manga and comics, manhua, LitRPG, LGBT novels and romances, YA and Middle Grade fantasy and SF and mysteries, and non-fiction.
You don’t sound negative to me! You sound like you know what you like, and there’s nothing wrong with that. Thanks for the comment! It’s fun to see your exact breakdown
i despise the secret history your making the right choice
Okay good to know!
Don't remember ever hearing of that, but then again it sounds familiar lol 😅.
@@mansparekh I't one of my favorites, so
@@morcellemorcelle618 i know it's loved by many!
I agree about Blake Crouch, not sure why I read any of his after reading The Pines
The first person that’s fully shared that opinion w me!
If Tolkein's writing style isn't for you, try the movies. Your future children would enjoy those as introduction, too.
I definitely will give the movies another go! I watched them once and got a bit distracted so didn’t get a real feel for them
the Secret hisotry is really interesting if you are very into the classics.
Perhaps one day I’ll change my mind!
Colleen Hoover books, does not 🚫 sound entertaining at all 😔. But ya.... Horror isn't really my thing, but like supernatural the show is interesting 🤔, i guess im not squeamish, plus that show isnt that gory. In my opinion
I feel the same about Colleen Hoover 🙌 abusers shouldn't be glorified. I also have 0 interest in Forth wings. Oh and another one: hunger games!
That’s exactly right (re: CoHo). I read fourth wing and gave it a 3.5. I didn’t think it was objective good or well written, but it entertained me. I adore the Hunger Games, but respect you not wanting to read it yourself!
lol I read the Secret History last year and it wasn’t a fit for me, glad I’m not alone in missing the Donna Tart train!
you're not alone- we all have our unique tastes!
haha I knew the secret history would be on your list. I decided to pick it up a few weeks ago and I am like 60% in. It is very slow and kinda boring. By 250 pages it gets interesting. It is definitely not a book that needs to be read ASAP.
That is definitely in line with what I’ve heard about it
This Poison Heart, ❤️ is such an entertaining book. I only have a little bit more to read. 😊 Highly recommend, its a sapphic fantasy book. Young adult i think? Maybe wrong about that 😕. Just a suggestion 😊. Oh ya, Shakespeare...... Do i need to say more ..... Lol The Odyssey was kind of interesting maybe romeo and juliet. Id probably read pride and prejudice. Cause i enjoyed the movie 🎥.
I need to read and watch pride and prejudice! It’s definitely on my list of classics. Haven’t heard of the poison heart, but will look into it!
@@mansparekh You definitely should 😊. It's funny and entertaining. Almost like a cozy fantasy in a way.
I would argue that any story you ever read was written by Shakespeare so you read him all the time without reading the plays in Elizabethan English. I also think that since you are such a Harry Potter fan you should read Tolkien at some point but the Fellowship of the Rings is a tough one
I think that’s a fair argument. But I am highly unlikely to read anything directly written by Shakespeare even if I consume his general story ideas by others
TOG is the only SJM series I truly loved. Really expected to love Crescent City and it ended up being the worst series of hers I've read yet. If you hate reading a ton before it gets good, you will HATE CC lol
Ah! Good to know. It’s unlikely that I’ll read SJM at all, but I hadn’t heard that yet about CC. So thanks!
I don’t think I could make an anti tbr because I could see easily be convinced to read anything… truly nothing is coming to mind lol
It is fun to see what other people have to say though 🤔
I think that is more than fair! I also feel that way a little bit, so this is mostly my anti-TBR “for now”
So agree with you about horror and ACOTAR! No shade and no interest on my part :)
Yes, no shade whatsoever!
Também nunca tive vontade de ler e/ou assistir O Senhor dos Anéis. Há uns anos comecei a assistir o primeiro filme, mas nunca consegui termoná-lo kk
I’ve never had anyone agree with me on this!
Love the lord of the rings. Watch the movie its so good. 😊sos the Hobbit 😁
I have watched it but had a hard time focusing 🙈
You should read what you want but the Booktubers that are weird to me are the so-called progressive crowd that refuse to read books of any authors that are conservative or even a different section of the left. I'm talking non-fiction books that have nothing to do with the authors politics, I remember one chick on here refusing to read Dean Koontz just because he has some Conservative views.
Dark academia doesn't really sounds up my alley 😕. But you never know 😏.
that's exactly right- you never know!
@@mansparekh First I want to try light romance at some point soon 😉. Any suggestions 😲
@@YW2324 yes! ones I enjoy are:
-The Bodyguard by Katherine Center
-One to Watch by Kate Stayman-London (recommend for reality TV lovers like myself)
-pretty much anything by Emily Henry!
@@mansparekh Gotcha thanks 👍🏻. I don't want anything to raunchy if That's even the correct word lol. But still, I saw a romance crime novel, that Is kind of calling my name 😄. So ya, hopefully I can end up liking some romance books 📚
You kind of do need to say more than don't feel like reading one of the greatest books ever written according to millions and millions of people
