This was a great first video! You seem so chill and comfortable in front of the camera. I've been tempted to start a booktube for years but always felt too awkward and chickened out! So I'm always impressed when I see someone new who seems right at home! Hope you keep having fun with it ☺️
Welcome to Booktube! I would love to see some library book content! It's great to have you join the community! As a fellow newbie, I wish you good luck on your channel!☺
So excited I found your channel! 😊 Welcome to Booktube! Looking forward to future videos!
Thank you, Taylor! Pumped you're here!
I loved the Nancy Drew books growing up! I'm also concerned that reading might start to feel obligatory now that I have channel. I never want the magic of reading to fade ✨ Looking forward to watching more of your videos 😄
Hey, this was a great first video! You seemed very relaxed on camera. Cant wait to see your library/affordable content 😊
Appreciate this!
Welcome to BookTube, Manasi! I love that you are going to focus on library finds -I'm a retired librarian. And it drives me nuts when i hear my husband playing my videos - I don't want to hear myself again, lol.
Dream job!! That's amazing that your husband watches your videos, very sweet! Thank you for the welcome, I so appreciate it :)
Welcome to booktube! Another newbie here and very excited to see your journey in this community. I’m starting to use Libby alot, there are so many books and some very expensive that I want to be sure before a buy anything. 🍄 Waiting to see the library recommendation to add to my libby as well.
Libby is my favorite app to exist!
Hey buddy, it's great to meet you. I'm sorry that you've had a rough year but I'm glad you decided to join the community 💙.
As someone who also lives with a non-Youtubing partner I get why it feels embarrassing to be overheard. You'll get used to that. I don't know how nervous you were to record this video but you did a great job. Very natural and warm, a very welcoming vibe. Give it a few months and you'll get a lot more comfortable. My advice to newbies is always just to forget about who's watching. Make content that you enjoy, that makes you happy, that you can have fun with. That last part is the most important bit. Just keep being your authentic self and your videos will be fun to watch.
As for how to maintain the love of reading whilst also making bookish content: I think the best thing to do is focus on doing your own thing at your own pace. There are so many readalongs, readathons, challenges, tags and trends to jump onboard with. It's also really easy to get swept up in "how many books did I read this month". All of that is fine and it definitely helps forge friendships but I've also seen it lead to burnout and that's no good if this channel is to help with your mental health. Just take your time, enjoy yourself and do what you feel like doing. Don't feel pressured to do things you don't feel like doing.
I'm ever so glad to have found your channel. I subbed and I'll be back for more. Hope you're having a lovely day buddy. See you next time 🥂
This is such a kind and helpful comment! Thank you so much for sharing some tips. I'm going to do my absolute best to be as authentic as possible and just have fun with this whole youtube thing :) Hope you're having a wonderful day!
Welcome to booktube 🥳🌟 we’re so excited to have you here! And YAY I can’t wait to see your library content
Thank you so much 🤗
Welcome to booktube! I'd love to see your library content. I definitely turned into more of a book owning kind of reader since joining the bookish internet, but recently I've slowly returned to more library reading, I'm still looking for that perfect mix.
Hello there! I myself have been super tempted to purchase more books to grow the type of collection I see a lot of booktubers have. There's definitely a balance to be struck, I think, between renting and owning! I also love a good thrift or used bookstore find, which is a bit of an in-between. Thank you for your warm welcome :)
Welcome! Excited to see your channel! Also, feel you on not reading horror :)
Thank you, Smiti! Excited to check out your channel
Awww thanks @@mansparekh!
Over the last 2 years, I have reduced my book buying and I use my library, kindle and Scribd/Everand account all the time, + I have set myself rules where if a book does not get a 4-star rating up and is not a book I will re-read then it doesn't enter my home. But on the rare occasion I buy a book then it's got to be read in 6 months or it gets un-hauled
I kind of love the 6 month limit on newly bought books! Giving yourself an objective way to determine what stays and goes
Thy aching isn’t evolution’s fault.
The proof the butterflies our bellies breed.
In paintings, Tristan ebbed into Iseult;
a couple takes a selfie at the beach.
We are the diagrams of outstretched limbs,
though never still enough for Time to sketch
because a husband arm is bending in
to save his one bride from her pirouette.
Where did the blushing in our cheeks evolve?
Survival’s not the reason that they blush.
Some magic’s much too primal in ourselves-
-what apes we were? the magic can debunk.
So, Time is not adept at drawing us.
No. That’s an aching blessing up to us...
welcome to the booktube community Manasi 🥰
Thank you, thank you!
