You're pronouncing Begleiter actually pretty well... Especially for an American which is obviously not used to the German language. The part "Begleit-..." was really good... but the "er" is really difficult because this sound doesn't exist in English. At least I don't have an example for it.
I really enjoy your videos. :P
    Greetings from Germany!

Voice of Reason Thank you for response. It's always nice to get in contact with people from all over the world. Is there a special reason for you to speak German? For us from a not English speaking country it is always important to speak English because you communicate with MUCH MORE people.

Love my Begleiter. One of the best designs I've seen in a long time. Simple and sleek. While it might not be an insane value like some are, it is made very well for the price, has very nice fit and finish, very consistent QC (Ive had 3 so far) and just an awesome design.

I like the enthusiasm you have when reviewing knives you like! It makes it more fun to watch! You are pronouncing it extremely well by the way!

Ball bearings are fun to deploy but they are not as durable and maintenance-free in the field. It only takes a small amount of dirt to really foul a ball bearing system. Washers are much less resistant to dirt mucking up the action.

Kizer makes some great baldes. Ever Kizer I've reviewed has passed my standards. I love the Kizer Guru.

I have MANY knives. Mostly automatics and assisted, only a few manual knives.
This is the only manual knife I carry on a daily basis. I got it in 20CV. It's PERFECT.

I really appreciate your opinion. I just got my first Kizer Begleiter. Great deployment and great feel in my hands. My only beef is the clip. Sticks out a little too far, and already got it hooked up and bent the clip. However a very good knife for the money.

Has a ruike 801 style to it. I see why you gravitate towards this style of knife. I purchased the ruike after your video on it and absolutely love it. This one could be next.

    • @bzebarth
      @bzebarth 6 років тому

Justin Smith I did the same and I really love the ruike. I don't see the value with this one though. If it was around the same price as the ruike and not over $50 maybe. I get that the steel is a little better but then the ruike is a frame lock with ball bearings so it's kind of a trade off. I don't think I'll be picking this up.

I own this knife I try to stay away from Chinese made but this knife is well worth ur cash great deal along with the kizer roach and when the mini sheepdog comes out I’ll probably pick that up to very interesting blade looks sick only Chinese company I trust at the moment but give me time I like USA on my blades but kizer has come out swinging for sure I do agree there knives could be sharper out of the box but it’s definitely sharp enough to do whatever u want plus 90%of my knives are sharper after I sharpen them than when they came out of the box 📦. Love the video 👍✌️.

REGARDING THE NAME. You don’t need to have a sharp spine to throw sparks if your knife is a BICLIGHTER

  • @bangocat

Great review as always, your videos are high on my list when wanting more info on a knife. However, I'm surprised you prefer bearings over the bronze washers without exception. Yes bearings provide a better action in perfect conditions but I find that bronze washers are better for survival situations and are less likely to need lubrication when it gets wet.

My first folding knife. I came late to collecting knives. I. Still use this but it is about to be usurped by the drop bear. Gorgeous.

  • @cedricschelfhout

I have the brown one and it has a lot going for it. Mine isn't near as smooth to open as yours. It has both teflon and bronze washers. For the heavier users: the lock disengages easily with a very light "spinewack". My slip joints are actually safer.

Great review! I really liked your comparison with the Rat 1. Seems like the Begleiter is everything the Rat 1 is but better. I love the RAT but like you said, sometimes it’s too much knife for my needs of the day. This Kizer should fill that void well.

I used the hyperlink to get the OD green one. Knife looks great. Been trying to look beyond spyderco, Kershaw, and cold steel stuff. Never had a kizer. Thanks for the content.

Not a bad looking blade but I actually prefer the beefy feel of something like the RAT 1 or Paramilitary 2 for my EDC because I wan to know my knife is going to take whatever I throw at it even when things become FUBAR

Marc I I own multiple versions of the RAT 1 and the PM2 as well. They're both knives that you just can't go wrong with. I will admit though that this Steel Will Modus I've been carrying around is really impressing me as well and has seen a bit more pocket time than the RAT in the last couple of weeks since I got it. I'm going to try this Begleiter knife out as well just to have another option for something to carry

There are Teflon and phosphor bronze washers in there. Mine came with a seriously deformed Teflon washer and the blade drifts from one steel liner to the other. So centering isn't even an option. And I have to tightened the pivot to the point that I can't use the thumb stud to open it so there won't be any blade play. Yeah I took it apart.

  • @MJFallout
    @MJFallout 6 років тому +1

Good job on the German pronunciation. Also, good work on the characterization of this knife. Almost all bang, no frills on this one. (and that's not a given with Kizer)
If I wanted FFG VG10 on a longer blade, I'd still rather get an Endura.... but not everybody likes the look of that.
Still not a Kizer fan (like, at all), but this one; yeah,I could live with it.
    Again, very well done vid.

I recently took a trip to Gatlinburg Tennessee and as I’m sure most of you know you pass SMKWs.
Or Smokey Mountain knife works( sorry but not everyone is a old country boy from S.C.)
Well the point of this comment is I’m a full blown knife addict, and I had a sizable amount of pocket money.
Like GT, I couldn’t walk away from the Kizer display lol.
Remember this place is 3 story’s of knife cocaine.
I ended up with 3 Kizers and another new brand of knives called Artisan.
The Vanguard was just like his, didn’t come super sharp, it does need to be re profiled.
And as he says the Kizer VG-10 does run a bit higher on the rc in fact I had to get my bevel way down on a fine DMT flat 3x8 plate.

Oh I forgot to say how much money I spent in SMKWs.
Let’s just say it was over 1k for 6 knives 🔪. And I’m very happy with each one, my daily carry Spyderco Para 3
And my Hogue X1 have stayed in my gun safe since.
