My 981 cayman s has 214,000 miles on it & it's my son's daily driver. I have a 718 now for my daily driver, it has 74,000 miles on it and the overall maintenance on both cars have been less than the maintenance on my wife's 81,000 E-Class. Best every mans sports car ever made.
100%! My 2017 Cayman S is flawless. My wife's Range Rover.....POS with 14k miles on it and spends more time at the dealership. I replaced my rotors and pads last month (Brembo), did it myself and cost me $900.00 for the parts. 34k miles and an amazing car!
I am thinking about getting one myself. Might have to let go of my other toys. Haha we'll see. Car market is so high right now.. just gotta wait for the drop
Damn and I thought I had a high mileage 981C. I have the 2.7L with the PDK and I'm at 101.4K and I use it as my daily in the California heat. Ask him for me if he's had any issues especially with the PDK if he has one. I don't have any mechanical problems to report, not a single issue, however for the cosmetics the California heat has taken out the headliner and peeled up the door cards but I got those fixed and also the clear coat on the headlights had to be polished, but nothing else. Thank you!
@@omarg6022 he just hit 200k the other day and no issues. He had the headlights polished and just had the whole car paint corrected and ceramic coated to celebrate lol. It looks better than new. PDK has been flawless and the fluid looked good after service as well. They are really tough cars.
Adam, great job! Looks like a GT4 RS. I'd like you to list all your parts and suppliers to help others (like me ;) who are in the process of doing the same upgrades. I have a silver 2015 S and have only completed the BMC filters install. Borla exhaust, Kline Headers, IPD intake and GT3 throttle body are all in boxes in the garage waiting for install. I want to do the front 3rd radiator as well. Keep up the good work and be safe on the track!
yeah tempted, may be when my kids gets older - I drove both of them and they are beast. No crazy fast but very manageable. Anyways, it's all about power that you can use on the street.
@@WFORacer The 981-S Boxster is 315. The 981-S Cayman was ALWAYS 325. I ordered my 986-S Boxster in 2003 and that was 258hp. I ordered my 981-S Cayman in 2013. Neither one "left" a factory in the United States. Both were built in Stuttgart, Germany. Some Boxsters were built in Finland but you can tell by the VIN. Bought them both from Champion Porsche. @@timheine5816 interesting. I got cheated out of 10hp. This is my second 981S. My original car was totaled when a asshat ran a red light. Took me 2 years to find one with similar options. X73 factory suspension, factory PSE, sport chrono, sport design steering wheel , 20” Carrera S rims, front -rear parking sensors. One owner car serviced by dealer for whatever that’s worth, low miles. By chance do you know if that stupid rear wing can be disabled in down position. The fact it goes up at 75 tells cops hey I’m speeding at a glance. It offers virtually no down force. Creates drag at top speed.
My 2018 718 cayman is extra expensive when I go to the shop. Before they can do anything they have to drop the engine to start. That’s automatically a charge 😅.
@@projectkod I'm with you on the "big". I'm thinking of the 2016 GT4 wing, but I really like your duck tail and diffuser. Can't get over how great your car looks!

nice, how much money have you spend so far? any repair cost?

@abbynormal2401 that's great to hear. Parts isn't cheap. Definitely not for entry level enthusiasts. But still very affordable for plenty.
Wow that’s alot of miles have you had to replace the clutch what problems have you had with it
That's gotta be a world record for a Cayman. I've never heard of one past 115k miles. It's good to know these cars can go that far.
That color is sick and Cayman’s are bulletproof. My friend uses his 2014 as a daily too and approaching 200k miles 🙌🏻

Love a daily driven project/race/fun car. Nice work there Adam!
Love this color and nice job with the mods!
me too, the blue looks good on this car.
Nice set up on this car!
Needs nothing more
Agreed! the rest is for driivng.
I daily my 14’ 981S only issue has been a drooping headliner
ah where do you live? is it the heat?
Mine dropped, too. Had a new one installed last year.
this is exactly what i want to do one day
definitely go for it!
Not a fan of the early Gen caymans but the 981’s and the 718’s are nice! I’m thinking about going 997 or one of these cayman in the future

If you get a 997, just be sure to get a 9A1 Engine because of the IMS.
Where to buy that spoiler? And that car look amazing.
They are custom. A friend of theirs made it.

facts!
More like 325 HP for the 981 S.
@@marcosvaldes8910 Only the 2016 981S was bumped to 325HP , 2012-2015 981S left factory with 315HP in the United States.

How are Porsches reliability after 90k?
No idea, apparently the new cayman and boxer motors can go up to 200k no issues.
My 987 Cayman needed AOS awhile back and thats basically it, its at 95k miles got it at 87k and I drive it like a sportscar, it feels great.
That downforce is needed going to the grocery store.
the guy tracks the car.
Needs the downforce for all my up votes 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Nice car but this video is so slow can’t finish it
yeah, interviews are hard, I am aiming to do better in 2024. lol
