Great Video, thanks for the feedback regarding the higher powder charges risks and consequences. Good to see the Ruger still going strong, looks brand new . Keep them coming loving these vids.
I have some of the best results when loading IMR 4064 (Im not sure if there is a different nomenclature for this powder in Australia) with this exact same bullet. I am currently loading 35.3 grains of powder and achieving 3750fps from a 26" barrel. I have never had a great deal of success with Varget.
could be your struggling to match those adi speeds due to barrel length,a lot of reloading manuals will use 24-26" barrels to get those speeds, your ruger is probably about 22" which may explain 150-200fps difference, ive handloaded a 250 for years dont worry about that 36.5g load no pig will ever pick the difference.....my favourite pig load is the 63 gr sierra with 35gr ar2208 for 3450 fps and it seems more accurate than the 55gr in my gun too!
If the barrel has less than 200 rounds on it, it could speed up a little once it gets to around that point. I've also seen the extreme spreads settle down once it gets to thay point too.
I have just been looking in the ADI manual. Have a look at 2209 it uses a bit more powder, which fills the case more but for 55gn bullet the max is 39gns powder as apposed to 36.5 with 2208. velocity is slower 3490 vs 3664 & pressure is 47800cup vs 50400cup.Ive never been a barrel burner myself, I prefer accuracy as I'm needing to shoot vermin and I dont want to miss. Check your twist rate as yours may differ from the manual this will mess with the numbers. Let us know how you go. Good luck .
I always fire a few factory loads and chrono them for a guide. Good video. Thanks.

My rugar 250 likes 38.5 grs of Winchester 760 with a 52 gr serra hollow point fills up the case nicely

Awesome! Hopefully we get to see some more groups!

I load 35 gr 2208 with Nosler or v max with great results. no problems with brass and 3 or 4 loads and good for distance as well

Thanks AF, I have another 22-250 project I am doing at the moment and I am using AR2209 and having better results, faster and better accuracy too.
