You are correct, but as Bikeman notes, he does not do this every day. He was simply trying to right a wrong and I give him top props for that. I am sure that anyone wanting to learn the correct military procedure for flag protocol can easily find that on UA-cam somewhere,
Thumbs up to everyone who spends their days cleaning up other people's mess, and especially to you Bikeman for cleaning up this guy's lackadaisical laziness. I hope you also found a box to place that flag in too, it deserves better than being stuffed into a dirty cargo hold on top of a battery...
Nice Job Bikeman.... My Father was one that did not return from Vietnam and it chaps my A%$ when people show disrespect for our Country and our Flag. Keep Up the good work...Cheers, Bob
This video just remind of this one older gentleman who used to be a Marin in another country and he by accident step on his relatives' neighbors' backyard and he saw the American flag. Then he processed to do a military salute to the flag. Like they said in this video "you have to give respect to get respect."

BIkeMan, Please charge them a 5% disrespect fee on behave of not only our troops but all those serving (and served) America (police, EMT, firefighters, ect.) and teach them HOW to fold the flag so they NEVER do this again. P.S. do you know where to get those heavy duty tire for people that put motors on bikes. (NOT me, for a "fluffier" friend)
