Yup. I bought another. I saw this one pop up on eBay a month or so back and quickly realised it was the higher level variant. With the help of Marcin @ www.ebay.co.uk/usr/msccycling... I’ve been able to piece together the DX components it was missing and after adding a few of my own parts it’s almost ready. - Розваги
Timeless Bike! Cool and well put together video, keep up the great work all the best Andy
@ Hi pal, yes Im planning on doing more I've just had a lot going on in my personal life which has now settled down so watch this safe. The Kirk's are great bikes to do, so before their time. Thanks for your kind words mate, your not doing bad yourself. keep it up
Cheers Andy
that frame with blue main color and pink/white accent is just beyond beautiful
Holy shit, I remember wanting one of these as my first Mountain Bike, even remember the marketing blurb as using a single cubic metre of sea water to create the magnesium frame and the original colour being cerise.
such a unique and cool looking bike.
Pronounced marchin. I used to work with a fella from Poland with the same name. Great vid.
Love the old Deore series, i have a full DX set.
The more I see these the more miffed I am that I missed out on one!
Pile of old bikes for sale £10! Third one down was a Kirk in black with light green forks and original wheels! COMPLETE!
That would have been a bargain
What cool and classic mtb🤩👍
Really good rebuild.
Best Wishes and support from germany
Good work .nice bike . Thanks uploading
To trim the head tube there is a plummers' tool called a tube cutter. They give you a strait cut and are quicker and easier than a hacksaw, Sam Pilgram uses one. Awesome build👍
Yup. This is true. I don't have one though and it was quicker and easier for me to use a hacksaw and an old stem as a guide :)
Love kirks had a black one and regretted selling so just bought a rather nice pink one .only the 200 version but just going to upgrade parts as old ones ware out .just got a new chain and cassette for it though.
Super cool bike! Love the video
Nice retro build!
Good build. I love elevated stays!! And it needs skin wall tires.
Perhaps when these tyres wear out. Skinwall would look good.
Good vid as always fella. when I saw the forks on the bike I had to pause to check,as I always remembered the brake on the back of the fork with RC 35's,that was there thing. Always loved the DX thumb shifters. To be properly period correct you need a "mountain bike UK" wooley the sheep sticker and some purple anodised quick release skewers, just sayin'..bon continu
Yeh I flipped the brake mounts round on the Pace and then realised the error. Managed to find the correct cantilever rocker for £5 rather than £20 though! I'm sure I have some blue skewers somewhere ;)
wow i remember this frame "so called indestructible" when it came out, the inventor drove a car over it to prove it's stiffness. great video though i got a bit nostalgic when i saw this. they don't build them like this anymore. keep up the great videos i always look forward to them. champion.
I've seen that video too :D Shame a lot of them ended up cracking.
26er MTBs are at rock bottom prices, there are 3 Kirks on ebay right now for £150 or less.
I have the road bike and am always looking for the mountain bike version .
I’m in Australia and I’ve never seen another other than mine .
The Kirk Precision is the roadie right? I love the designs but this one turned out to be a bit flexy.
I’ve a Kirk Precision on Spin coda wheels and 100mm Roch Shox Judy SL fork. Only ridden a few times, rides like new.
careful with those i snapped 2 in the 90s
nice build! im doing one at the moment do you know what size seat post they take?
Off the top of my head, no. I'd have to check.
Sick video! Can you tell me what model of forks you used? I couldn't make out what you mentioned in the video. Thanks
Pace RC35 MXCD
Jeez! Is that a long enough allen key? 😂
Just about!
Can you help me, How much should I sell my kirk frame?
Are you in the Uk
No. Philippines.
I don't know. It depends on the condition. Both paint wise and if it's a wobbly ride (possibly indicating cracks in the magnesium) or now. Oh and component level if the frame has components too.
where in philippines so i can check? im from marikina..
