@@TheCGEssentials yep, getting the dome concept was an adjustment- getting that a change to the bg hdri would still change what the dome did took some messing around. Doing vehicle animations with this next week. Thanks for helping with add on awareness, I try to use your links. - Bryan
I mean if you want to do environment concept art, this addon can do half the job. Wow! I had bought it few years back, but hadn't installed it in a while. After watching this video, I just installed it...lot of new features.
Hi Justin. Thankyou for this information, I have a situation where the dome function would be useful, your example shows a fairly flat mesh added to the ground of the dome, if I wanted characters stood on the bank of a lake is it possible to add a mesh where the outer edges are the same height as the floor but create a dip filled with water. In effect add a floor mesh but make it deeper than the floor.. boy lol I’m new with blender lol, I know what I am trying to ask
Looks so good I've bought it before finishing watching this video. Setting up HDRIs has always been a pain in the ... and this seems to make that easy as well as all the other functionality.
I was going to buy hdri maker add, at least let me get it with your reference so we can get some use out of it. Thank you for your wonderful works. Lowe u👍
There is a tutorial by Tomi Viitanen (Blender Tutorial: How to Turn HDRi to 3D ENVIRONMENT), which once you watched it, will make you realize you would buy this addon here for 69 dollars which can be otherwise created (an reused every time) with just a few nodes. Not to say, it also looks WAAAAAY more realistic wht Tomi suggests.
I guess it all depends on what you think your time is worth - for me, the dome creation was actually MUCH cooler than I expected. Plus, the $70 version is the one with 16k libraries, and I doubt I'd ever use that high a resolution, so there are other options. That said, for some people who like/don't mind doing things manually, definitely might not be the right fit.
What i dislike most about this addon is that they sell free stuff with it. Basically at least half of Hdri maps they sell with this addon are actually absolutely free on polyhaven and few other websites where you can get hdri images for free. If this is not scam then i dont know what it is 😎😂
I'm only a novice at Blender, and I can't do this kind of thing for free. Besides, my philosophy is always to reduce my labor time and cost by purchasing whatever I can get to speed up my workflow.
Thanks Justin for all the information on your channel, it's an absolute asset to anyone working in Blender. Thanks again!
well put 🙏
Man, that hook function looks super useful for getting some basic background geometry.
Just bought this a few days ago, love it so far! Thanks.
Agreed - WAY more in here than I originally thought - the dome and floor tools are pretty awesome :)

Thanks for making such a thorough tutorial.
Just so beginners know -
GPU render option greyed out: You need to go into Edit | Preferances | System and select your GPU under CUDA
This update is amazing
I was very impressed

..... I installed it and went through all your tutorial - it really is brilliant, most impressed.
Will that addon work with Octane?
Can u make HDRI from regular high rez image (jpg, png tga etc)with this add on????
I’ve rarely used HDRI in my scenes. I prefer manual lighting
OK, I have been looking for something like this OMG Nice Find!
Is it possible to export these HDRIs from blender to unity ?
this is an epic game changer
the ground textures need displacement, unsure how to do this,
Is there a way to export with the hdri dome to import into other programs like unreal engine and d5 render?

Anyone know what the Dome V1, V2 and V3 are? They're all domes, I can't see the difference!
Джастин, спасибо!
Whenever I add dome I have to scale it up to reach my object. When you add dome it centers around your object. Any idea why?
how can you export the domes to ... lets say .. sketchfab?
Thanks for the great work you do. could you tell me what is that addon that made the ground? that was amazing!
Hi Justin! What's your doggy's name?
That's Bonnie! :)
nice.. after long time... thanks .. 100th like,😃

Canvas Nvidia is free and now you can create hdr
awoesome
:)
THE DOME TAKES AWAY FROM THE PHOTOREALISM OF CERTAIN ASSETS FOR ME SO FAR. ESPECIALLY VEHICLES.
Probably depends on the application, just like any other tool
@@TheCGEssentialsI guess so

$70 for something you literally can do for free, what a rip-off
