- Episode #850 Today, we're making a cool little stock sign using our Sasquatch Love template and 1.5" Clarendon letters.
Stock signs are always a good idea to have on hand, especially if you're carving onsite and trying to make some sales. This one is pretty cool!

So - this was done freehand? Very cool but is that something that most folks can also do???
Yes, all we do is freehand and we have been teaching other people to do this for decades. Over 2500 videos... If you have specific questions you can email me directly, eric@makeawoodsign.com
I sell the hell out of Bigfoot signs.
Bigfoot is a huge market!
Love this! Going to have to order the Sasquatch and the liner bit.
How many coats of clear did you need?
Thanks, guys!
Hugs ❤❤❤
Thanks Susan! We put a total of 6 coats on this one.
Great looking sign and excellent narration! You and Eric make it look so easy. I love watching you guys carve!!! Just curious if Amy likes to carve. I can't recall ever seeing her do any signs. I bet she would enjoy making pieces with dog themes! Happy Easter to all of you!!!
Thanks Lori! Amy's done a little bit of carving, but she focuses more on dog training HAHA
Do y’all ever get to Mississippi, maybe the Canton flea market, it happens twice a year
We've never been there, but would definitely like to check it out one of these days!
how do you get such sharp lines with your paint? I only be able to get fuzzy lines
Try to spray directly down and not have any angle on the can. See if that helps
Really good instructional video. Sign came out great!
Thanks Mickey!
Great looking sign and it was fun watching you carve it.
Thanks Bill!
I always look forward to your videos!! Just curious as to what mounting hardware you use?
Thanks Don! We usually use "S" hooks and screw eyes for signs this size
Thanks for the info much appreciated!!
Yes, in my way to the store to bye Mr April❤
We sure appreciate it!
Thanks for the video
Any time!
What is the size of your blank piece?
This one was 6"X24"
Thanks! Just ordered your large beginners kit. Can’t wait to start making!😊👍
👍👍👍. Thanks Ryan
Any time, Pete!👊👊
It's incredible to see such clean lines! A quick question, are some woods easier, i find that the router on some wood i have carved doesn't maintain a constant speed, and on parts of the grain, it passes quicker, then slows down again in my hands
Thanks Paul! Yeah, the grain plays a HUGE roll in how easy it is to keep a good line. The hard/soft is a pain HAHA
@oldave100 can you recommend a few types that you find has less hard and soft features, I know a while ago I watched one of your videos that had I information on it, i must get some of that spray that helps with bleeding as that has caused me some headache so far on a few projects
@@tallpaul7657 we like cedar and pine. It has a lot more to do with the individual boards than the type of lumber.
@oldave100 ah, ok, I will try testing on scraps of the main board and see how it feels before setting out on a project. Thanks again for all your help and advice. It makes the hobby so much more fun, I have also been putting in time on a scroll saw and having so much fun using that alongside the router.
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks Mark!
Very nice product right there. Super cool idea.
Thanks Charles!
Nice work🎉🎉🎉
Thank you!

Thanks Clyde!
