  • No hero of the faith wakes up one morning and decides, “I think today I’ll become a hero of the faith.” No, the decisive moments are years of smaller choices.

I love listening to anything of yours, Nancy. For me, you are an Elizabeth Elliot example. I love Revive Our Hearts because the message is never "made easier." I love listening, learning and growing closer to Christ with the help of Revive Our Hearts. You all carry the torch well!
I want to be used to point others to Christ. With His help, I believe I will. Thank you for being a big part of my faith journey.

I’m from Australia in tiny country town but even we heard of this tragedy . We were involved in missionary families in our home for many years
As a small child I read through gates of splendour and the Savage my kinsman

This is an incredible message. It made me think of a song that we used to sing "Lets forget about ourselves and magnify the Lord..." We serve a faithful God who is trustworthy. I put my trust in you Jesus... melt me, mold me, fill me, use me.

Please pray for my prodigal family, Debra my wife, and my kids, Mikayla, Shane, Rio, and Noah. Sept 28th is my daughter Mikayla May Burgess birthday as well. So what better day to pray for her to return to her 1st love Yeshua than today as we pray as the family of God for the sins of our loved ones and the lost.

That is some how a two way in me I can really get in a hole of self pity 🙃 but the moment I am with ppl doing the self pity it's like a lioness arousing in me...
Come on let's get up and move I just want to say I can't listen to the story let's just do NOW even it is stand up sit / stand up sit.
    Anything else but poor me.
I am very much a loner but the moment I am in a conversation of life is bad / bad the jumping jack in pops up.
I never say let's not talk about it i'll talk and reason but if I get a but & or unresponsiveness I walk away and avoid such conversations because to entertain it makes the rest of my week a endless battle.
I realize we are all different but that is me I try and fix what I can & the rest must sort it self. Often I feel ashamed for not being more caring and softer with others and fight a endless argument with myself to just keep my mouth shut so each can deal with their pain in their own way.
Often I pray that God will inspire my Spirit to quite down but before I know it I try to organize ppls life's... 😵‍💫,
So to be not around ppl to Often keeps me safe but perhaps its not always the answer.
May God use me where needed and keep me from temptation to judge but rather to give more of Him through me of him and not me but him and Him alone

I am amazed that so many Christians believe that upon a persons death that person goes straight to heaven. This is NOT a bible teaching. The bible is clear that the dead are asleep in the grave and will rise to life to receive their reward of eternal life and our immortality at the Second Coming of Christ. (I Thessalonians 4:13-18; Revelation 22:12; 1 Corinthians 15:51-54)

Just a question, not trying to be argumentative; why did Jesus tell the thief on the cross “Today you will be with me in paradise”? Luke 23:43. For me this poses a problem with the idea that believers go into soul sleep. Surely Jesus wouldn’t mislead that man?

I have made note oh the scriptures about where we go after death. I have heard about this before, but never read them.
When we are in our graves, we Don't hurt or know what is going on on earth.
      Is that your understanding?
As you know, at almost funeral, it is said the one who died is now in heaven.
Have these preachers not read these verses.
Any additional comments from you would be appreciated.

I was told it has to do with punctuation, the comma was not placed correctly.

    • @pilgrim5217
      @pilgrim5217 Рік тому

@@hopeinchrist3243 In the original text there was no punctuation which was added by the translators. Notice the major differences in context by moving the comma. Jesus said: “ I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise “ vs. “I tell you today, you will be with me in paradise”. We know that Jesus did not ascend to the Father on the day He died and spoke these words to the thief on the cross because He told Mary three days after He died after He rose from the dead: “Touch me not, for I have not ascended to my Father ...”. John 20:17.
Hence, Jesus did not tell the thief that he would be in heaven with him that day.

She was kept safe from using God as her ATM but rather her Father.
Hollywood plastic does that to many but may we thank God that she was kept from temptation
