I’m at Nfu council yesterday and today and it’s being discussed. Tough times at the moment and with the lack of crops in the ground, they’ll be a shortage of straw next winter.
Just want to say, what a great role model you are Andrew! Especially with the R&R breaks to Portugal, people really do need to get off their farms and have a break every now and again.
Funny you mention Skegness, I worked for Jim epton years ago through velcourt and my mate kiwi Mike came over to see us and wanted a lift over to get down to Cambridge. He rang the train line and said can I get a train from" Snakes nest" down to Cambridge! Mother was in raptures " no Mike its Skegness" he repeated in his strong kiwi accent "Snakes nest" !!! Great footage from the docks! Thanks Andrew
Cracking update again Andrew. Hope you had a nice break in Portugal. It’s impressive isn’t it when they load boats, I’ve unloaded many boats with grain down here in Falmouth docks.
@@WardysWaffleAndrewWard it’s pretty much the same as loading but opposite way round, they load the back into Lorrie’s and drop the bobcat in the ship to finish off but the bobcat is fully cabbed so the driver Is dust free.
An interesting insight as to how the Irish sell and export their grain. John has a great job and a small world he attended college near you. Until Wednesday.
Thank You for a great video, so much stuff covered, those hired in machines at the beginning, what a waste of taxpayers money. Environment Agency might as well disband and get some practical people involved instead. Very interesting seeing that ship been loaded, how much did that bucket hold? looks like a drop in the ocean when you see the size of the ship 🤣
I am a non-farmer but still interested in that, but I also like the way you throw in other interesting things. Lincoln Cathedral and the hotel were WW2 RAF pilots used stick out in my mind and now I know about hatches on bulk ships. I must get out more !
Another interesting video Andrew, great to that side of things at the docks. It did make me chuckle when John mentioned he went to Caythorpe College, I went to Caythorpe myself from the mid to late 80's, although not an Agric student, I was poultry.
Andrew. I’m very interested to know what guidance system you use on your Polaris Ranger for pelleting etc. Apologies for the repeated question. Wasn’t sure whether you’d seen it on a previous video. Love the Waffles.
There’s me thinking you were on light land!!! Would not surprise me not getting back to farmer EA hiding in the dark, at who’s cost is reseeding? Enjoy the break, yes all farmers could do with having a break, those with animals suffering not being able to get livestock outside, great blog
All losses and repairs to the fields are the farmers responsibility but Defra have announced the Flood Recovery Fund but the amount a farmer can claim is only a fraction of what’s been lost.
Well, FWIW Olly Harrison has been cleaning and relaying drains on his land, which clearly is making a difference. To get the whole story you'd need to start watching his daily videos from about 23rd March 2024 until now. TL;DW of this is that he's using a ditcher and an excavator to clean channels and to lay new drain pipes. Interesting to see how they use grabs to load a "small bulk carrier".
@@WardysWaffleAndrewWard Somehow Olly being "a good friend" doesn't surprise me. I actually started watching his channel after he gave Jemma Warren some content about grain testing for her's.
Please dont call the ship a boat By definition, a boat is “a vessel for transport by water,” “a small ship,” or “a vessel of any size built for navigation of rivers or inland bodies of water.” In casual use, the word boat is used to refer to any vehicle used to travel on the water-anything from a canoe to an ocean liner. In this kind of casual and general usage, the word boat is often used to refer to watercraft of all sizes and types, as you can see in the variety of terms that include the word, such as sailboat, motorboat, fishing boat, rowboat, tugboat, paddleboat, and lifeboat. In contrast, the word ship is typically reserved to refer to a large, ocean-faring vessel propelled by multiple sails or engines.
Thank you Andrew for your brilliant videos and your work with Forage Aid. Our upland heavy land farmers are having a tough time.

Disband the Environment Agency and bring back the NRA

Cheers Gary, Portugal is quite reasonable priced if you go out of season, Rhonda is a dab hand at finding the deals!
@@WardysWaffleAndrewWard and it’s in the same time zone as us, which is certainly a bonus!
👌👌😊👍
Environment Agency are probably on holiday in Portugal also. What else do they do with all our money?🤷♂️
Quite a lot of various types of grain and other cereals come in and go out by boat from kings Lynn docks
Your a great man for the chats Andrew,!
Gobby!!!!!
😂
Hi Andrew, absolutely fascinating seeing the boat being loaded, it just shows there are still some really lovely people out there

Andrew once again that was very interesting thanks again 👍 🏴
Brilliant video of the ship being loaded, amazing the different things you show us.
Good old Caythorpe.
Nice to give a mention to Caythorpe, great college that educated many local students in agriculture, in a wonderful setting, sadly missed
Just seen Short Ferry and Henry and the flooding on Al Jazeera. World news.

Great week thank you. I’d like to see a ship being unloaded, bet it’s dusty for the Bob cat driver in the bottom!

@jonstephens682 thanks, makes sense.
Really good update and content Andrew.
Very interesting to see the loading, the cargo space in the ship is absolutely vast! Hope you both had a great time away!
Very thank you!
And that's a small ship !
Great update very interesting to watch.

Another fantastic update and very interesting nice quite beach
Great video Andrew, good to see how the boat is loaded. Hope you had a nice time in Portugal , and did you bring some decent weather back 😊
Great Video Wardy, I hope you enjoy you time at the beach, thanks for sharing
Thank you, it was a very enjoyable week.
Drogheda, the town where i was born.
Lovely place.
If that was John Donegan, I was at college with him!
I’m not sure what his surname is.
Great video Andrew with loads of detail 👍
Great video, thanks for sharing❤❤❤❤❤
Nice update.

Not sure but I’d say about 6 or 7 tons.
If ye fancy a change while still staying in Portugal.
I believe You would like Tavira the other side of faro
Thank you, we won’t be going now until the autumn but I’ll have a look.

Great insight into the docks, How about a trip to Boston or Kings Lynn.

I was at Caythorpe too, 80 to 83, engineering
I’m amazed at the number who comment to my videos who went. 😊👍
Need to get tumby sorted as well
Nice to have a break from the pressures of farming. Great footage of grain loading into the ship. How many tonnes did the crane bucket hold of grain?
I’d say about 6 or 7 tons, it was big when stood next to it!

Lovely interesting video and update, be interesting to know what wieght the grab held? About 5 ton ?
I’d say 6 or 7, it was quite big standing next to it.

I know Olly, he’s a good friend, we were in Portugal together a month ago and he was telling me about the drainage.

I think I saw that, it was when she collected a load of wheat from him.
@@WardysWaffleAndrewWard Indeed it was. My point was that this content was impressive and interesting enough that I started to follow him as well.
really am unsure what the ea really do they move slowly with everything had a fishing licences for 20 odd years now think they have checked it once
Any idea how the dockside is cleaned to the standard, just pressure washed?
Not sure.
Did you ever get the go ahead on the Coolmore video Andrew or did I miss it?
I haven’t but also some of the videos didn’t have any sound so I couldn’t use some anyway.
GREAT STUFF EA IS A TOTAL JOKE
More farming please.
Apart from the intro the whole video was?
Droh-head-a....all short....oats to Spain for horses ...??
Not sure what they were going to be used for.
EA arent fit for purpose
