    Well I wish Racho would include as much information with their shocks as you did in your video.
    No instructions, and for $130 each , they should be able to throw in a 10 cent plastic tool.
    Thanks for the info 👍

    For rock crawling, do you want stiff or soft shocks (Toquerville Falls, Ut)? What about for partially rocky terrain (basic nonpaved road with tractor bumps)? What feels better to driver vs what is better for the suspension (least damage/wear-tear)? Advice would be greatly appreciated!

    • @Georgia4Low
      @Georgia4Low  Місяць тому +1

      For our east coast terrain I found a higher setting like 7-9 worked well for slow rock crawling, mainly for when a tire drops off/slams off a ledge etc the extra damping helped in my opinion since I have only factory bump stops. Forest service roads the lower settings work better I usually was using settings 3-4. Hope that helps.

Greased them, put them back, only can adj 1/4 turn. Have the adj tool now, havent tried it yet, because, i need to know is the internal starting point for the knob when the end is flush with the cover plate....thats as far in as it will turn...OR, one clockwise rotation, when its off its a out 1/4" or so, is that the starting point to put the cover plate back on and then adj the knob 1-9.

      @@Georgia4Low if you want some pointers I’d be glad to help. But no that is not bonded good. Looks like your wire speed was crazy high. If it pops and snaps there is no penetration and a poor weld. There will be a nice smooth buzz to your weld. Where do you live?

    • @Georgia4Low
      @Georgia4Low  3 роки тому +1

      @FishSnatcher I “tested” each inner C gusset with a BFH multi times and I couldn’t knock them loose. I understand that’s likely not a true test but it was enough to let me know it’s bonded. These parts are just added gussets and axle repairs. I think I was getting good heat as I was discoloring the inner C around the welded area. An area I had an issue with was getting the axle area 100% clean. With the axle on the Jeep it was nearly impossible to get a good tool in the areas for grinding paint etc. I borrowed a welder for this, I hope to purchase one later so I can practice more cause I kind of enjoyed it but definitely want to become better. I watched enough videos and been around some good welders to understand what to listen for when welding. That buzzing type sound. Getting the wire feed and temp right was a bit of a struggle. I could have asked for help from my buddy but I wanted to do it myself. I did practice on two spare pieces of steel trying to set up the welder but I think the cast steel parts on the axle were fighting me and my lack of skill. Here’s the video of me welding ua-cam.com/video/e4dqwmL8lfg/v-deo.html and other big challenge was the large gaps between the axle inner c’s and the inner c gusset. I was able to weld a lot better with smaller gaps. Thanks

The tool is necessary. I can't get them to turn to all detents by hand but have hand/finger issue(s). The tool will tell the tale to insure the adjusters are not messed up.
