My F82 Uniden R3 mounted left hand lower corner glass one wind around the turn signal and plugged in. Cali legal as long as it’s mounted 6” from any corner. To many saves to count and don’t roll without it.
I've had mine since they were released. Absolute beast. Think about mounting higher up on the windshield. Without getting into the physics of radio propagation, the higher the antenna is, the longer the range. And yes, those two feet do make a difference.

I normally drive in congested suburban areas or highways where Waze is more than acceptable for police notifications. If driving back roads or rural area then a radar detector may be better use.
Loui can you make a more in detail video, explaining which each alert means, and even showing us what are the best setting to use on the uniden R8, and how to detect false alerts. Would be greatly appreciated .
@@monkmode_11 I have had my CDL since Sept 1997. Either one will do you just fine. I loved the R7 just as much as I love the R8. I am very impressed with how far the R8 detects.
I already knew that the Uniden R8 is gonna be amazing because I’ve had the R3 for over 2 years now. Ever since I got it, I’ve been ticket free literally. Before I got the R3, I’ve been getting tickets to the point where my state will send you a letter in the mail to say “You’ve reached the halfway mark in terms of points. If you keep getting points, your license will be suspended”. Now look at me. I have 0 points now yet I’ve still been speeding and I have a company truck now since my MVR came back clean
Your #1 error, you called it, it is way too low. Who cares when your driving. Theft is not possible while your driving. Unless your state is illegal, you have other worries..
Have the Uniden R8 and R4 and like them both, neither are perfect and neither is any radar detector. Auto-lockout is nice, but you can still get a brief alert before it mutes or you approach the area from a different direction and need to manually lock it out. Drawback with Auto-Lock out ? Can lockout real police radar, although rare it does happen, for the money the Uniden R8 and R4 are the best deal compare to more expensive units from Escort.
