You are very professional and thorough at what you do in a very dedicated and specialized job. Your instructional videos and sharing information is greatly appreciated. Up here in Alaska the situation with septic tanks gets even worse because of permafrost the tanks and the contents sometimes we'll freeze even though they are dug below the frost line which makes the hole pumping out situation a whole new adventure.

Just a thought. Why not just snatch a couple sips of water from the aeration tank. Since you just filled it with fresh water? I'm genuinely curious. Also. I had a good chuckle when you said "poor crust buster" !!!
I been in my home since 2000 never had septic tank pump out i call the first of the yr got a price. But like i said never had it pump . What's your thoughts ? Good video you & the wife awesome team . I read some of your comments people are brutal my friend lol shake it off keep getting it ! Stay safe
If you have an aerobic system then you should buy a quarterly inspection contract. If you have an outdated leach-field then having the solids removed from your subsurface pipes costs almost as much as upgrading to an aerobic, literally over $8k in my county. The aerobic are 97% efficient & can usually be completely repaired in under 24 hours b/c they don't have stuck sludge past the pump-screen.
Someone in that house is very sick. They need to see a doctor about all those shitbergs coming out of their ass. 🤣🤣 Poor crustbuster is probably going to need a clutch rebuild after that one. 😁
Probably somebody with a liking for British takeaway food. We used to use Brexit pits until the problems associated to high fat diets became obvious, hence rolling sewers out *everywhere* to solve the problem. 💩🇬🇧👍
Ever since we switch to low flow toilets and HE washers our septic tank get 2 foot crust within 4 months of pumping just because there isn't enough water in the tank. I literally have to fill up a tub of fresh water once a week and dump it just to keep water lever in the tank 💔 We just paid $360 for months ago and afraid will have to do it again unless we can find a way to get some enzymes to do the job. This is so frustrating especially that both my husband and I are disabled. Always be careful with people tooting latest and greatest. Low flow appliances has cost us a lot in pumping!!!
@@Ariccio123 Yea just as dangerous as any brush cutter. But youre right since theres no tool with rotating blades out there, right? Go back to coding bro.
That sounds like it might be the same system seen here - Aerobic. Lids are for the trash tank (The inlet side of the system 💩), filter section, aerobic digestor, and treated water (To garden or environment) respectively. Dom includes a cross-section diagram at 01:28 which might help understand which lid does what. But do take care over how the lids are placed and the distance between them. If you have two pairs of lids and each pair is several yards away from the other, you might have two separate conventional tanks, one most likely redundant. 😇
My understanding is that it treats the water for reuse in things like gardening while a normal system just holds everything. So basically I'd assume it allows you to be more efficient with water usage?
What was the diameter of the riser tube? No way I could lift my concrete lid 1 handed. I assumed the concrete lids are replaced when a riser is added. Is that not the case?
Usually saftey lids are used to replace the concrete lids. They are a bright color with a hole in the middle but some people don't do this even tho the safety lid is designed to be a replacement.
You are very professional and I do enjoy your videos. The only concern I have is the level of hygiene you maintain is not appreciable. At the end of the day, yours and your family's health is more important than anything. I have seen workers of a local environmental service company following better hygiene practices, such as always using disposable gloves when touching the hose, valves and tools, avoid contaminated instruments touching their clothes and body, not touching personal devices and things in the surrounding with dirty hands etc. Grey water and sludge can contain countless numbers of microbes, some of which can cause severe diseases. Hope you will improve your hygiene practices. Keep up your good work.
@Kravity Man that was a Great Answer i am sitting here laughing my ASS OFF with tears at 1230 am on what you said the videos are great but the comments are the best
The trash-tanks are so tiny on the aerobic systems. The new oval designs almost have the trash-tank's inlet & outlet touching where suspended solids pass directly to the aeration tank as the installers often cheap-out on the filters b/c nobody checks if they've provided the two years of inspections. I would like you include an air-pressure gauge test on the air-pump to ensure you're not leaving the system over pressure. The Hiblow pumps want 2-PSI with about 4-PSI max, around 8-9 PSI is damaging. The installers in my county simply don't seal the risers & skip the riser-screws to vent the systems to atmosphere, it's a violation as the systems intake groundwater which dilutes bacteria populations into more health violations. Some of the manufactures mention the PSI while others mention venting, others say nothing but their diagrams show how the air is trapped. I think you might ought to mention that a properly maintained aerobic system doesn't actually get the aeration-tank fully pumped out b/c crashing the aerobic-bacteria populations takes 12-16 weeks of rotten-egg smell (hydrogen-sulfide) for those bacteria numbers to recover. I don't want mine pumped too far past my air-pump alarm going off, I miss my old colony b/c it actually does take 12 weeks.
I was driving behind a septic truck and on the back is said “FILLED WITH POLITICIANS PROMISES” I thought that was hilarious

Two foot? Now that’s dummy thicc.
What is the advantage of an aerobic system over a conventional system? Seems like a lot more maintenance.
My understanding is that it treats the water for reuse in things like gardening while a normal system just holds everything. So basically I'd assume it allows you to be more efficient with water usage?
But not all county's allow them
No drain field is used. So less property is needed.
@@stumpbumpers yes but more maintenance is needed
@@califdad4 Sure, you’re correct. That usually isn’t a factor of consideration if a traditional system won’t fit.
How many jobs could you do in a day on average?

When you say "crust" what you actually mean is piled up shit....right?
Things that float as the scum layer - wipes, plastic, oils, things that didn't go down the inlet tube, but came out up on top if existing scum layer.
