Pro tip: get a asain lady trust me i went to this korean hair salon and they were all women and a woman did my hair AND I LOOK SO CUTE . But your pulling off the haircut i love the style! Your hairstylist rlly said : nah trust me on this on my guy

I don't even go to Asian salons cause I'm black, almost every time I went to one I was (very politely and apologeticlly) denied because they don't know how to work with type 4 hair.
I remember one specific time that one lady tried to literally give me a perm when I was younger, my mom was so mad.
And the worst part is that the lady refused to admit she was in the wrong, she kept on trying to say that it would make my hair "more pretty" and "easier" even though all my mom asked for was for my hair to be washed and have 2 buns int the font.
Apparently she thinks completely permanently changing the texture of another woman's child's hair without permission, using chemicals that are known for making black women's hair fry out is complete fine.
at least that person politely denied you and told you honestly they don't know how to work with black hair though, rather than lying and claiming that they can do it, and ending up messing up your hair. just my opinion. honesty is pretty cool

I never got mad at them for not being able to service me and im glad that they told me ahead of time. Plus I live in a mostly black area so there's always somewhere else I could go where they could do it. But I never forgot what that lady did a because she actually permed a small part in the back, she's the reason I always reiterate with all of my hairstylist exactly what I want.

My mom is persuading me to go to this Cantonese dude (He’s in his fifties or something) to get my haircut. I’m genderfluid and I really want my hair cut in a specific way, and the haircuts I want aren’t crazy, but based on what my parents told me (and my brother) he’s not going to pull it off ;-;
