Great video, I recently got a lathe and this looks like a good first project. We also keep honey bees so it will definently come in handy

Very good ! Enjoyed the Vid too :-)
Diese Idee finde ich genauso Klasse. Danke sehr. Ich lass mal ein Abo da :)
Haha dankeschön :)
what kind of wood did you use?
Is the linseed oil foodsafe? I know it's similar to flaxseed oil, but not entirely sure that it's the same.
Hey Mark,
yes it is food safe, at least according to the seller´s website. The oil I use is swedish "organic, pre-oxidized, cold bleached" linseed oil. It´s supposed to darken less and harden quicker than "normal" linseed oil. I really like it and made good experiences with it.
Thank you for watching!
Alternatively, you can use melted beeswax, which is what I prefer to use for food safe finishing. Works great for sealing and finishing. Just a suggestion. Great project! Keep up the great work!
how much a lathe can cost you?
Around 150 Euros, but I did some modifications on it, like adding a second bed to double its length and making a custom tails stock.
Imagine sticky hands while doing this project
You forgot the most important part.
The honey!!!!
Hahaha true!
