Eating pumpkins are a different variety that's bred to have good tasting flesh, and lots of it. its not a waste of food, as its inedible. Many vegetables have multiple varieties for various uses, the corn for eating, the corn used to make corn syrup, and the corn used for animal feed, are all different varieties.
@@junoguten Probably mess with it is not cost effective. They need a collecting, processing, storing, and logistics, that make final product to pricey for pigs. Also pumpkin feed soil with nutrients and regenerate fertility.

To all the people complaining about “waste” : I’ve been growing pumpkins for years, many varieties. Please believe me when I say that not all pumpkins are tasty and marketable. Pumpkin is my favorite vegetable, and even I won’t eat certain varieties because they literally taste like wet cardboard. These are seed pumpkins, bred specifically so that the seeds do not grow a shell. The flesh of these seed pumpkins is left on the field to act as natural fertilizer for the next harvest.
i find people who complain on this pumpkin videos dont even eat pumpkins lol. but we use to grow pumpkins for natural fert. as a cover crop before winter. on some of our spring/winter wheat fields.
