I first sang this song over seven years ago. Since then, about 50% of my internal monologue is "chiliconcarnechiliconcarnechiliconcarnechiliconcarnechiliconconconcarne" Such a great song, but also such a plague.
My school's Vocal Ensemble (composed of about 14 people) performed this at a recent competition and I found it amazing that they produced so much sound. And granted that they didn't do any dance or anything like that, I thought it was the most energetic song of them all. I'm in Concert Choir at the moment so I love to hear them sing because they are probably the creme of the crop of my school.
I never heard this song till 2 weeks ago a group from San Francisco came to sing for us and they were singing this song i just love it from their on! :)! "Chile con carne" ;)
it's all vocal and they use a lot of reverb towards the end... that can sound like there are added voices... but its just those five... Freakin' Amazing!
