Has anyone successfully recreated the bass line? Ever? I swear, looking at sheet music, that thing goes below low Ds and barely repeats itself. Props to the amazing bass! He is one of my heroes in the music industry!
This is not spam. It's a great compliment in two words. It's meaning is that The Real Group sing so accurately and in tune that they don't need auto-tune equipment. If every group sang as well as they do, auto-tuners would become redundant, i.e. "killed off".
Anders voice skills are totally ridiculous ...wow....what bass lines..fantastic performance one of the best acapella groups in the world probably the Best.
Anders Jalkeus has a LUDICROUS range and one of the most insanely in-tune ears I've ever listened to. I've heard him hit pedal B-flats that are huge, and solidly in-tune, and he has high range that puts him in mid-tenor territory. The acrobatics he can perform are positively stunning - just listen to the bassline he lays down on "Bumble Bee".
As I write there are at least 4 tone-deaf people out there! This is simply stunning. They are all great singers but the bass... really rivals my beloved Take 6 and Naturally Seven!
You swedish have great groups up there!. I have seen other performances and it seems they have change the line up?. Now they sound a little more like Manhatan transfer. I like the sound of the male bass singer, very deep and personal. I hope they come to Spain soon! Thanks for posting
Jakob, find the youtube video of Sonny Rollins at the ceremony of the Polar Music Prize, Stockholm. Listen from 8:30 to hear what he says about Sweden, in two short sentences. Rollins' opinion is also my opinion. Swedes are one of the few of the world's peoples who are justified to be proud of their country.
It must be tough for their 'new' soprano to be compared repeatedly with Magareta. She has a quite different, and I think harsher, more strident, singing voice. I'd love to see the lovely M back with the group. Wishful thinking I guess, too much personal feeling in the way. How is she getting on with her solo career?
@hughvane Agreed, that would happen with everyone in TRG, I'm disappointed Peder K left too, the skill's still there, it's just that their voices were so instantly recognizable that it's hard to hear the identical song sung by people with dramatically different vocal qualities. This song in particular however doesn't bother me nearly as much - simply because I've only ever heard it with Emma in it.
Hohoho...Oh, yes way. Amazing blend and phrasing. Yea, don't miss them. Catch'em on their 30 years celebration world tour 2015, last run for mr Jalkéus. Unbelievable live. ref. Matt Robert comment below. But good playlist of TRG you worked together here. Thx. Well done.
@frankvdg Jij hebt ook op geen enkele manier de mogelijkheid in je woordenschat om dit op een normale manier weer te geven wat je bedoelt hé? zielig.......
@simpleblob and this is a pretty off performance by their standards. I saw them in concert/did a workshop with them a few weeks ago and they sounded 10 times better than this if you can even imagine that. lol
Normally I like TRG... a lot... but it was really sad to watch their self-absorbed fascination with the camera. Embarrassing. And I could be wrong, but this did not look or sound live. I think it was lip-synced.
4 years late, but actually this video is unique for the real group in the fact everything is *not* perfectly in tune. So yes this is live. To me it also indicates that in their usual live shows they have to process the voices somewhat to achieve the results they get - which is so perfectly in tune it's disturbing. So, for some of the stuff they release, you might be right... Except for this video, which makes it pretty ironic you bring it up. That being said, the audio might be slightly out of sync with the visuals, but that'd not be a first with these older videos. Besides that, even without much voice processing, their performance is still top tier considering how technical this piece is.

Just an exceptional arrangement. Complicated as can be. I love it!
I just tried out for 2 of the solos today in my jazz choir, I love this song. c: Always stuck in my head!
This bass is sublime!!

Ugh...beautiful!
Proud to be Swede.
Terrific share my friend - and much appreciated!! :-)
If you can sit still during “keep it cookin’ and stomp your feet,” something has to be wrong with you. That syncopation just forces me to MOVE!!!
JUST PERFECT IN ANY WAY
WOW!
This is just amazing
these guys are the best no doubt about it
God. Just wonderful
The bass wrote this number. Love it!
No, it was Anders Edenroth, the bariton.
@@bluepapermusic8833 No, it was Anders Edenroth, the tenor

candy for the ears
WOW!
@grafx5 I completely agree with everything you wrote.
yes it is.
Probably the most complex arrangement I've seen them put together. And it shows.
Even with a hoarse soprano, TRG still kills like no one else!!!!

They did fall in pitch by the end of the song but their showmanship and vocal quality more than make up for it!

Cool !! Is it from their latest CD ?? very tight harmonies as always !
@ppddbb1 Volgens mij is het heel duidelijk wat ik bedoel, en volgens mij heb ik ook gelijk. Ik begrijp niet helemaal wat je probleem is?
HAhahaha.... Live, no way. But really great to hear anyway! Would love to see them live sometimes!
Hohoho...Oh, yes way. Amazing blend and phrasing. Yea, don't miss them.

Ok, then it must be the sync between sound and video ;-)
Patrick Vaanhold 100% live my friend :-)
Thomas Nilsson As I said, then the sync between sound and video is off ;-) But I do like them A LOT!
@dececuatro Probably not for the moment.
Take6 is the real auto-tune killer

@ppddbb1 heeft geen drol met absoluut gehoor te maken. Maar wel goed!

Dit is pas een voorbeeld van absoluut gehoor!

I think this is live performance. At least this sounds different from CD.

I don't agree!
