Another thing to keep in mind when using odd shaped objects is the shadows they create. Those can be great subjects all on their own.

Enjoying these videos! My go to R&R time in the evenings here in Sweden. Do have one question though. Why do you enable lens profile correction when you're shooting abstract macro shots? Is there a huge difference as it's hard to tell on youtube if there is or not?

Glad you are enjoying them MrEnglishgolfer ! I enable lens profile correction as a habit - it is part of my system - in the case of these shots - it makes no difference.
