Finally, found someone who keeps it simple with the hair routine like me...just wash and go , no stretching, no blow drying , etc... morning routine consist of spritz with aloe juice ; shake and go... always get compliment and questions ( do you could your hair everyday?) Answer: No just Spritz, shake and go! I love it... so simple. 😀👩👊
I need your help! I want to review Mielle Organics but can't decide which collection! Vote here: ua-cam.com/channels/12LklzNz7Mr91GqriZ_ciA.htmlcommunity Don't forget to join my 'Natural Hair Type 4' group: facebook.com/groups/naturalhairtype4/ Thank you for your support!
Joy-el I keep reading comments people telling you to part your hair. It’s not necessary. My Afro hair is armpit length and I don’t part it, especially when you wet it everyday it’s too much work!
Omg your hair has grown so much!! So exciting to follow your journey! 😘😘 P.S a quick tip, as your hair grows longer you so should try to work in sections, it helps with the tangles, I am also lazy ahahaha but it reduces the wash time. Again it is better when you get longer hair for now i dont think is a fully necessary step. Sending love from Portugal PT💕💕
I may want to try whipping your shea butter. Melt it in a double boiler or put it in the microwave for a few seconds. Put in a blender or whip with a spoon. Mix with an oil to maintain consistency.
You don’t know how refreshing it is to see someone sporting their actual natural hair. Not natural + (fill in the blank) super cute and chic definitely setting a new standard for me and for beauty 💕❤️
First timer here and I must say that I love your spirit! You had me over here nodding my head in agreement. I’ve been natural for some years now and it is refreshing to see someone who loves their hair and takes care of it, but yet not take their hair so seriously with the 50-11 products and 90 min nighttime routine lol (I kid, but you know what I mean). Great video!
This is my fave video of your hair care segment. I was spending so much time trying to manage my hair daily and on wash day, so much so that I was tired of being natural. But I love my natural hair, I don’t want to give up on it. When I came across this video of yours I decided to try your easy, breezy method and, voila! My hair looks beautiful! It’s almost too easy and my hair loves it. I see you trying other methods and products in other videos. Guess you’re exploring to see what else is out there that your hair might like. But I’ve been there, done that already, just looking for an easier way to manage my hair. I’ve complicated this thing unnecessarily for so long. As my hair gets longer I’m sure I will need to tweak my method a bit but I’ll still keep it simple. Thank you, Sharmaine!
Sweet and beautiful young lady, your videos have literally saved my natural hair. Thank you so much for sharing your natural hair journey and tips with us!
I love your routine, I do worry though that in not sectioning you aren't getting the products to the length of your strands? I get the lazy thing, it does take a little longer but actually you only need 4 sections, put product on and squelch the hair so the product moves through. At the end of the day what works for you works. I just don't want you to get 6 months down the line and find you're suffering breakage or dryness as a result of not sectioning.
I love your attitude about your hair! I appreciate how simple your hair routine is. It's proof that going natural doesn't require a great big production every day. Thanks for your wonderful videos😃❤️
If your not a fan of the white cast Shea butter leaves you can buy Alaffia or Everyday use shea lotion. It has all the benefits without the cast and you can use it on your whole body.
You are so right about a simple routine... I’ve been literally just using the Mane n Tail shampoo/conditioner, the Camille Rose deep conditioner and an oil mixture I bought on Etsy... the conditioner I use as a pretreatment (to detangle) and as a leave-in and my hair is growing and getting thicker... Love your positivity and your energy 💚💛💜
blend your shea butter (add extra oils if you want) to make it whipped. it will make it easier to melt and apply in your hair. I have a premade batch for the winter i havent touched yet :) Also, I remember my new phase (Im a very lazy natural - only wear my hair out and in high puffs)- i felt the same as you....however once you get more length you will notice you need to do things a little different each phase. :) Sectioning is a must as your hair grows out
I believe a lot of that over complication culture comes with the anxiety attached with the idea of not being presentable. Many Black/Biracial women have been conditioned to believe that appropriate for us will always have to involve some sort of manipulation in order to assimilate. I myself am learning to release this mentality...and I've been wearing my natural hair for 16 years now. You've helped me ease my mind into the notion that my hair doesn't need to be twisted into submission in order for it to be an "appropriate style." Thank you 😁🖤
tanneranner i think this is actually something all people face. Black men feel like they always have to have their hair lined up. White men feel like they have to keep their hair gelled back (and Latinos) or blow dried. White women feel the need to curl or straighten their hair to be presentable. Asian women DEFINITELY feel pressured to manipulate their hair to feel presentable, perhaps more than anyone. And of course black women are not exempt from this pressure either. I’ve been friends with multiple races of people. And it’s pretty much the same across the board. It’s just a societal thing, not to mention we all just feel good looking our best and being comfortable in what we’re in.
Love the video and your statement about simplifying everything. I think that's best as well so I will say this one to refer back to cuz I need to look at your morning routine again! Beautiful hair as always!
One brush I use to detangle when I didn't feel like using my fingers was a shampoo brush. I found it randomly at the drugstore for $1. It has different lengths of teeth that are pretty flexible. It's black with a ring handle on the back. Also I recommend peppermint oil because it's very penetrating, even for low porosity. I put it in my shampoo, and then also use it to seal when I choose to moisturize throughout the week.
I loved this video. I follow the same routine and I am not lying when I say this my hair has gotten thicker and longer since the summer. My hair is growing due to wash and gos. I use a tee shirt to blot my hair and then I either throw it in a puff or wear it down. I’ve been on the hunt for that Tressume Bontinque I can’t find it anywhere but I’m got going to stop looking for it tho. Thanks for sharing
I've thought about using a t-shirt but my hair loves water so much that I want it to absorb as much as it can. Plus the shaking helps fluff my hair and I don't have to use any tools or extra manipulation ;D I found my conditioner at my local Fry's grocery store. I found it on amazon too for you! www.amazon.com/TRESemm%C3%A9-Selection-Conditioner-Botanique-Replenish/dp/B0199WNGIW
I love you! Omg you're gorgeous! Thank you for embracing who you are! Your message in this video is loud and clear, and it means so much to me. Keep being great girl!
Orange is definitely your color! I wish my hair had that round shape. My hair is kind of a triangle and it require a bit of work but it’s a labor of love. Keep doing what your doing❤️
Thank you! Have you tried trimming it into a rounder shape? I know that there are parts of my hair that grow faster that can throw off the shape sometimes!
Do you do your wash n go routine every morning? If you're looking for a way to uncompact your hair in the morning, take your shower as normal and let the steam from the shower add moisture to your hair. Then use your damp hands to fluff your hair.
I've been natural for 8 years now and wish I never started using relaxers or straightening my hair. I agree, a person has to find which products works well on their hair & run with it (by the way I'm 4c hair type). I use several items for softening & sheen "Blue Magic Bergamot Hair & Scalp Conditioner", "Dr. Miracle's Daily Moisturizing Lotion", and "Bigen Polishing Serum". For washing & conditioning my hair I use: "Creme of Nature Straight from Eden Shampoo", "Garnier Fructis Conditioner for Dry Damaged Hair", "Creme of Nature Leave-In Conditioner", "Jane Carter Solution Natural Twist Out Foam", & "Dryfast Concentrated Setting Lotion". It's a lot of products but it works for me. Oh, I just started using (3 new products to my regiment) "Shea Moisture Coconut & Hibiscus Curl Enhancing Smoothie w/Silk Protein & Neem Oil Moisturize & Curl Define for Thick, Curly Hair", "Isoplus Styling Gel" and/OR "Wet Line Super Look Extreme Hold". Whew and that's it (LOL)!!!
O. M. G. Why am I only now finding you??!! I am not biracial but our hair is similar! Also I do not have the luxury of putting on loads of products in my hair and waiting for it to dry or sitting under a hooded dryer. My hair is type 4, low porosity, dense and coarse so it takes FOREVER to dry if there are too many products on it. New subbie here!
yeah I can't do coconut oil. I'm 4c low porosity protein sensitive. its like the coconut oil creates a barrier around my hair cuticles keeping moisture out. olive, avocado, grapeseed are great alternative oils. plus I read every product ingredient making sure no protein or coconut oil included. coconut, almond, jojoba, camilla oils tends to dry out my hair--I don't know why, that just happens to my low porosity 4c
I'm so excited about your journey! you're beautiful, your hair is beautiful and your make-up is beautiful! I love how real and honest you are. I have low porosity hair, I'm on the fence about buying the "do it fro the culture line" but because you recommended it, I'm gonna try it!👍🏽🙂
Love you energy your beautiful 😍💞 Try a braid out and try to also work in four sections Aussie 3 minute moist deep conditioner really helps to soften the hair
Lol your videos are funny in a very good way. You keep it real. But your methods are very good that you do for your hair. I will definitely incorporate some. I am also lazy I barely part my hair because I too am lazy. :) I can tell your hair is definitely growing in each video. Also the orange is nice. Thanks and keep posting.
My little sister does the big shake too! When your hair gets really long you need to be careful because you could give yourself whiplash! My big problem was my hair would never dry, so wash n go’s were a no go. I hated it. I had a ton of braid styles so I only had to wash my hair every few weeks. Also my thick heavy hair pulling tight to my head was so uncomfortable.
I feel like you would love a whipped shea butter. When I first went natural I applied raw shea to my hair regularly, but I really disliked the hardness and smell. I've recently started using shea again, whipped. I added a few essential oils (for smell) and coconut oil and I love it! Also I don't know if you work out but after the gym the shea butter used to smell so bad. It's easy to frequently wash your hair when you're in the twa stage but once it starts to grow, it's just annoying!
Would you ever consider doing some box braids for protection or have you never braided your hair before? I saw some chin length jumbo braids that would look amazing on you
I’m biracial like you and natural. I like to keep my routine simple also. The most I’ll do is finger coil my hair to get extra definition. And I use two products. The less I have to do the better. I used to be a natural with ten million products.
Love your whole look, your hair is same as mine. How often do you actually use shampoo? Have you ever tried clay? It is great as a detox, some use it as a cleanser too xx
I just use the conditioner everyday, not shampoo :) The conditioner helps re-moisturize my hair and re-vamp it. I find that my hair stays hydrated much longer throughout the day and it keeps it from becoming dry and matted to my head
love seeing more mixed girls love their 4c hair
“Don’t live your life around your hair.” I couldn’t agree more!! Keep shining chica!
Does she look Hispanic ?
I agree with people. People do the most with natural hair and need to keep it simple.
your afro is literally perfect 😍
Probably one of the best Afros I've seen -- really reminds me of Angela Davis and Katheleen Cleaver's afros back in the day. Love the shape!
Denny, ditto!! She definitely gives me 70s vibes.
She does. She looks very much like a very young Kathleen Cleaver.
Continue to do what works for u. Keeping ur hands out of ur hair may be why you have such growth. Orange is your color.
Thank you!
Life Quotes:
-I love shea butter
-I ain't got 2 hours to drip dry
-... I don't even use half that shit
-... suffocates my hair, my time, my soul
Preach!!! 💃👏🙌🙌👏💃
Keeks Belle I thought that was funny. I actually do have a bunch of steps but I only do them in wash day.
also, *“don’t live your life around your hair”* is a great one! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Finally, found someone who keeps it simple with the hair routine like me...just wash and go , no stretching, no blow drying , etc... morning routine consist of spritz with aloe juice ; shake and go... always get compliment and questions ( do you could your hair everyday?) Don't coil ,or twist, just Spritz and go! 🙌
I agree, simplicity is key!
Side note: your hair does not look like a dirty Q-tip or Brillo pad. Just dense & compact(ed). + > -
Today I’ve decided I’m gonna cut off my relaxed ends during my winter break! I’m so excited yet scared, but watching you makes me feel better. :)
YAYYYY I'M SO EXCITED FOR YOU! Join my hair group and post pics once you do! Link is in the description and pinned comment :)
Joy-el Alright, I’ll do that for sure! Thank you so much for always giving me courage with your videos!
Your right joy el, keep it simple i think 4C hair thrives the most on wash and goes. Meaning it loves water and conditioner
You are so right. I keep my routine simple. I think a lot of naturals give up because they think that they have to do so much to their hair.
When orange compliments your skin so well there’s no such thing as going over board 😍
It's my favorite color so thank goodness! lol
The Orange is gorgeous on you! If you wanna be classy about it, call it “tangerine” otherwise known as “bourgeois orange.”
Kinda late. But I agree. Some of these videos are just so much. If you're using 10 products 8 of those are probably not doing a damn thing.
Agree when I do wash and go I use 5 products
Aloe Vera juice
Shampoo
Conditioner
Leave in conditioner
Eco styler gel.
Keep coming back to see the fro grow and to see the always beautiful make-up😊
This was soo needed. I just big chopped about 2 days ago
Us 4c biracial girls gotta stick together
Chey S I’m mixed and I have 4c.
You ladies are unicorns lol. My fiancée’s cousin’s daughter is biracial with 4c hair. Her mom has straight hair and her sister has type 3b/c hair
Chey S my son is mixed and he had 4c hair. I never seen a biracial person with 4c until my son was born and got older. I love his hair so much.
😂
Your hair literally makes me happy
I prefer whipped Shea butter. It’s really easy to make. Naptural85 has a good recipe video.

I loooove this routine, I prefer to go under the shower rather than use a spritz bottle. Great video!

I love your hair texture!!! It leaves me with a good channel that matches my hair texture with out unrealistic expectations🌹
I love the color orange. Looks good on you. Your hair looks good as is. I want to wear my hair that way.
I feel that struggle of washing hair. Although I have wavy hair. But your hair is so beautiful! You are so beautiful & I find your accent so good!💞😘

Great tips.I like that you don’t use a lot of products it’s slimmed down to just what’s really needed.Simple really is best!!
Best best advice. KISS. She is the first biracial chick I have seen with this hair. Wow. I am subscribed

Love your delivery. Yes KISS. You’re my favorite!
I agree I like simple and consistent routines in order to make being natural work for me
"Suffocates my hair, my time, my soul.." lmfao
The Orange looks fabulous!
I agree with you on people doing the most im also a little lazy with the hair😊
I'm with you; the simpler the better❣️

I love you! Omg you're gorgeous! Thank you for embracing who you are! Your message in this video is loud and clear, and it means so much to me. Keep being great girl!
Love your hair, it shapes your face in a way that straight hair doesn't.
Yess keep it simple lol. But I think people just focuses more so on how it looks. Trying to achieve something that it’s just not meant to do.
Exactly!
U r so pretty and so is your hair #natural beauty 💜
Orange is definitely your color! I wish my hair had that round shape. My hair is kind of a triangle and it require a bit of work but it’s a labor of love. Keep doing what your doing❤️

Love it, keep it simple 👍🏾
Your fro is so cute, thank you for sharing your routine🤗

Whew and that's it (LOL)!!!
Well said Joy-el :)
This is wonderful! You are an inspiration
Finally my hair twin.
I agree my night routine is verrrrrry simple. Pineapple and scarf....maybe an oil if it feels super dry.
Subscribed because you’re not obsessed with definition
Hi you should try a steamer with your hair! You look awesome btw!😍
Yesss finger detangling is key.💕
I have low porosity hair and the hot water really makes a difference with keeping in moisture in my hair
I have low porosity hair too but its protein sensitive so i cant use certain ingredients like coconut or aloe vera.
From what I've researched, coconut oil doesn't have protein in it
yeah I can't do coconut oil.
Similar for me as well. I put a little glycerin in my spritz bottle. I've found grapeseed oil to be a good one.
I agree, keep your hair simple and your life.
I know I'm late but.. Absolutely beautiful! Simplicity is key
I'm so excited about your journey! you're beautiful, your hair is beautiful and your make-up is beautiful! I love how real and honest you are. I have low porosity hair, I'm on the fence about buying the "do it fro the culture line" but because you recommended it, I'm gonna try it!👍🏽🙂
I don’t even put oil, I just put the bonnet on and go to sleep. 😂
Love you energy your beautiful 😍💞
Try a braid out and try to also work in four sections Aussie 3 minute moist deep conditioner really helps to soften the hair
Your hair texture adds to your undeniable beauty! Love from Germany ❤️
Thank you for your support! It means the world to me
My little sister does the big shake too! When your hair gets really long you need to be careful because you could give yourself whiplash!
My big problem was my hair would never dry, so wash n go’s were a no go. I hated it. I had a ton of braid styles so I only had to wash my hair every few weeks. Also my thick heavy hair pulling tight to my head was so uncomfortable.
i was only half listening to this then i realised u were dropping some game. had to put my phone down and rewind
I feel like you would love a whipped shea butter. When I first went natural I applied raw shea to my hair regularly, but I really disliked the hardness and smell. I've recently started using shea again, whipped. I added a few essential oils (for smell) and coconut oil and I love it! It's easy to frequently wash your hair when you're in the twa stage but once it starts to grow, it's just annoying!
i highly recommend you to use more oil and extract based products from what ive seen on my self it makes hair 10 times healthier
Perfect! Do you have any recommendations? :)
@@SharmaineJoyel try the purple hair mask from ecolove (its purple because of fruit extracts)
Love your personality and simplicity. ❤
I’m low porosity and I use hot water.
I found my hair twin!!
AMAZING LOOKING, VERY EXOTIC LOOKING, YOU SHOLD TRY TO GET INO MODELING ASAP. BLESS UP
Would you ever consider doing some box braids for protection or have you never braided your hair before? I saw some chin length jumbo braids that would look amazing on you
I love box braids! I've had them quite a few times :) I love the chin length idea! Thank you
You could play Dorothy Dandridge in a movie, you favor her a lot, you would just have to put brown contacts in, that's it
U made me learn a little sum about mixed girls ,i thought mixed girls curls were looser wig a combo of mom and dad hair textures
Perfect Afro!!! 👍🏼
I was waiting for this video loved it! ❤️
Yes keep it simple
3:02 that's literally my face too when I detangle my hair with my fingers 😩😩😅😅 it's quite uncomfortable but necessary and easier than a comb🤭🤭🦄
yeah i finget detangle now too
your hair is very nice its naturally beautiful beauty is not by artificial wig you are beauty 👍👍👍👍💖💖
You are so adorable!!!!! And pretty as well!!!
Love your hair😁 yep keep it simple. With Shea butter if it doesn't melt in your hands into an oil don't use it. It's a filler.
I shampoo once a week, sometimes every other week. And yes I have the Aztec Indian Healing Clay!
Maybe you could try Shea nut oil to avoid the white cast from the butter.
Good idea!
I’m thinking of cutting my fro a little shorter. It has really grown!!
you look great in all that orange. Why do you wash your hair every day though ? I've never seen that before.
I just use the conditioner everyday, not shampoo :) The conditioner helps re-moisturize my hair and re-vamp it. I find that my hair stays hydrated much longer throughout the day and it keeps it from becoming dry and matted to my head
Tenille Stewart :check out the hairrules channel...Anthony Dickey explains about daily washing...😁
