You can really see what value a good dog is in the yard. Or anywhere for that matter. If only they could open and close gates.
On the topic of your wool, are you guys making much on the wool sales? and if your not have you thought about moving to a hair sheep breed just for meat?
Not last year we didn’t with the cross breds and studs. Have thought about it. Still thinking about it. But trials have shown they are still 20-30% down on production compared to the Dorset/cross breds. Time will correct that obviously buy selecting those better performing types.
