SIEL Opera 6 vintage synth | Can she be saved? PART 2/3

In the second part of this video repair series, I try and get the synth functionally working. Making musical sounds and have most of the features functional. There was to be 2 parts but the challenge presented by the condition of the panel will demand yet another episode. I was also able to blank and reprogram the original 2532 EPROMS which was a nice bonus.

It's bette than I had hoped. Even the sysex loaded. I just need to properly calibrate it and clean the keyboard. The cosmetic stuff and the switch are the outstanding issues

I'm doing a JX-8P atm the moment. Cosmetically it looks not dissimilar to the Siel here, but thankfully the internals turned out to be rather excellent, as the "no sound at all" described in the ad was simply the 8P's usual LMH switch acting up. Just be thankful you have all the panels - mine is missing the lower RHS panel beneath the pitch bend assembly and I'm not sure at all how to replace it. Any suggestions would me MOST welcome... 🙂
