    Legends since 98 and thousands installed. Ohlins since 76 from NASCAR to MotoGP and beyond. Both with well earned performance pedigree. Always room for talented performance engineering any industry. Looking forward to short and long term review.

      Yeah, I think Legends are good for your everyday rider, but I've seen the Legends shocks they use on their race bike and it's way beyond what they sell to the public.
      öhlins on the other hand use on their race bikes what they sell to the public. Same with Nowaskey.
      I had a few quality issues with Legends and a few subscribers who hit me up asking me to take down my Legends video and stop recommending them because of shock issues.
      Obviously, I would rather create a follow up video on my experience with Legends. 😅
      Something I do know from a business perspective is that Nowaskey is direct to consumer because of margins on their shocks. That typically means that the engineering, R&D, and components are top notch.
      I also know dealer markup on Legends and öhlins and even between the two of those it makes you wonder the cost to develop.
      The one thing I do like is that Legends is Made in The USA. 😬😅🤘🏼
      Like you mentioned - we'll see how Nowaskey does over time, but for now I'm super happy with my purchase. They were worth the wait. 🙂

    I learned something new!! Pistol Pete had been coming out with kick ass Trask Turbo builds for years! Those rear shocks are tight, they look great and from a reputable builder, nice choice!!

      I've gotten this a few times now. LOL
      Everyone is like "who is Nowaskey?" I'm like Pistol Pete and they're like "ooohhhhh".
      Yeah and Pete is on the race circuit too. Those shocks have crazy R&D into them and crazy money to have the top notch components.
      I think that's why he's staying direct to consumer. This way the quality of the shock stays top notch. 👍🏼

    SWEET shocks....nice to see small builder getting some action! One thing I noticed....no chain guard???? THat scare you at all...granted you have your bags and all that so you probably wouldnt get tore up in the event of a failure....but isnt it making a HUGE MESS??? (I know there is no way I could not run one, but i have personally seen a few failures...luckily never me, but its still no joke if you ever see one come off...cant imagine getting hooked by it)

    • @MichaelBertini
      @MichaelBertini  2 роки тому

      Yup no chain guard. Maybe I might add one in the future. I've seen one too many chains pop and you're right, it's not something you want to hit you.
      I'm not scared because I have the bags there. In terms of mess, I have a chain cleaning and lubricating routine that reduces mass significantly.
      I take my time with it, so there is usually very little cleanup required. 😬👍🏼

      @@MichaelBertini I have been using Motul cleaner and either the Motul chain wax or Maxima chain wax for what seems like a 100 years... 😛 Still makes a mess on my wheel on the Ducati... LOLZ. At least cleanign them has come a long way with the soft bristle brushes specific for chains vice the oily red rags we all used for a decade in the 90's... LOLZ. Anyhow...was just surprised to see no guard but I havent really looked for one yet, although I assume there are some nice CF ones out there someplace....or will be as soon as companies figure out the margin available on them as chains on Harleys becomes more and more popular... :D

      @@redrider0151 LOL Awesome! Do you use a heatgun before you apply the chain wax?
      A little trick I learned when I was younger working with guys who worked on a GP team.
      They would clean the chain, then heat it up, apply the wax, then let it sit for several hours, come back and clean off any excess. 👍🏼🙂

    • @redrider0151
      @redrider0151 2 роки тому +1

      Race Tech is FANTASTIC....they have been around doing custom valving on sportbikes since way back in the 90's...FANTASTIC group of guys! I havent followed them as much since I moved away from California...but there was an entire group of us that used them and there was never a track day that you didnt see half the guys using thier stuff...killer suspension guru's for sure

    • @MichaelBertini
      @MichaelBertini  2 роки тому +2

      I agree with RedRider0151 - Race Tech is great! Russ Wernimont shocks are considered a good entry level shock in my opinion. Wayyyy better than stock, but not in the ballpark of öhlins, Nowaskey or even Legends.

    Not to nitpick your knowledge but, if your going to stand in a shop that has tools that are not used( the stickers are still on them, dude!) With a floor you can eat off of, and a workbench without a single nick, scratch or even a drop of grease on it, your credibility goes straight in the toilet
