So I have been obsessed with this song and watching a lot of reactions since it came out and one thing that almost everyone has said in videos and even in comments is that this song gives them some kind of intense emotional response but they can't really explain why. I find that to be a fascinating shared experience, they really made something special here.
That's absolutely incredible. I really can't explain how it makes me feel and that alone says a lot. They truly have outdone themselves on this album. Thanks for watching! - Jacob
Because we've all lost somebody, and yearn for that connection again, and this song definitely invokes that euphoric/nostalgic experience and desire for connection. Its universal to the human experience.
Great Reaction! Metalheads hate it. Musicheads Love it. I think people will love the songs more if they think of the 3 aspects: Music, Concept, Lyrics Love how they are heavily circling around Absurdism and Existentialism. Here are my short overview for each song. These can still be expounded upon. The lyrics have multiple layers to them : 1. Game Over - Meaninglessness of Life 2. Mattel - Simulation. Much like a continuation to The Stage album concept 3. Nobody - Realization that we are "one with the universe" and a "nobody" in the grand scheme of things 4. We Love You - Most say it's about capitalism. But I interpret the song as representation of human ego and the illusion of choice 5. Cosmic - Cycle of Life and Death. The idea that we are all made up of the same cosmic energy - we do not go away. We just take up a new form or has been in a different form in our past lives. Written in beautiful love song 6. Beautiful Morning - A character who faces an inner struggle and attempt to find meaning. This character they are trying to portray in this song is everyone's worst day of their life. 7. Easier - The same character who wants to Surrender. Suggesting to take the 'easy way out'. Uplifting music but sinister meaning between the lines 8. G - Referencing the story of Creation. And an irritated God is contemplating to just wants to delete what he made and restart. 9. Ordinary - Other songs talk about suicide, emptiness, meaninglessness, hopelessness, etc of human life. This song is an attempt to say that "you got a problem with life? I don't even have one and I desperately want it. you must be lucky to live" from an AI (thus the electronic vibe). This song is perfectly placed in the sequence of the album because right after it, the human in the next song commits suicide nonetheless without regard. 10. Death - The same character from 'Beautiful Morning' and 'Easier' in the end commits suicide 11. LIBAD - Closing the curtains Everything is done with intent. It's chaotically beautiful
A lot of metalheads like it tho, this song was extremely well received by the prog metal community. Some fans who were expecting heavy metal or a sound similar to their earlier stuff didn’t like it but as a whole this song has been pretty damn well received by many metalheads not just music heads
@@lalondeguitar Music is subjective. A lot of the songs of this album do not follow the 'rules' of western music theory. Dissonant notes, unexpected flat 5s, clashing vocal notes and chords, unsyncopated rhythms, electronic sounds, unconventional song structure, weird key changes, and so on, while being tied up by familiar progressions we commonly hear. We are used to hearing a certain formula of music (that's why there are genres) where even a slight variance suggest that something does not fit when we hear it. This album and songs cannot be boxed in to a single genre or a single type of music. They created something unique. Some people like it. Some people don't. Some people want simplicity. I like complexity. To each their own 👍
Id say the illusion of choice is mattel otherwise we love you is definitely about capitalism and the human ego becoming the cause for societies downfall and game over is not about the meaningless of life, the character in game over feels like he wasted his life away so he decides to kill himself because he feels like a failure
On my home from work a couple weeks ago when it was storming I was driving with this song playing with the windows down and I got to the end of the track and it seemed like the lightning was mirroring the drumming. It was absolutely glorious haha
Amazing album about death of a loved one, my wife lost a child and this is the song I felt emotional about that day I listened in the hospital crying my eyes out even if it was a miscarriage we grieved it because it was still our child ❤️
This in the one of my new favorite song. Yeah, you need to listen to this song again again and again. And there's you'll feel like you're flying in the space with a robots and see people just gone and ... arrgg i can't describe it more. I think this song just ... perfect.
Cosmic is probably the best song on the album. It's just so uniquely put together and pulling different sounds from different genres in a seamless way. My personal favorite track is G, but I just love the Frank Zappa vibe on that song with the female vocals thrown in. Cosmic is a masterpiece though and I'm not sure there is a "better" Avenged Sevenfold song out there
@@spadeland they all sound so different from one another but they also got together as a trio perfectly. I have no idea how they accomplished that, but before the album dropped I remember seeing M. Shadows say he thinks Jimmy "the Rev" Sullivan would've loved how all over the place the album is. I think that's why I went into it with different expectations than perhaps some of the fans who didn't like this album
This song rules even if it isn’t really full on metal. Great song with a whole lot of emotion, this song is a very beautiful journey. Nice reaction guys

The words themselves are enough to bring some to tears but you add that guitar and everything else it makes it a very emotional experience

Yep. This is like my 5th or 6th reaction video I've watched lol

I'm no metal head I listen to everything and I don't believe this album qualifies as music

Truly a masterpiece. Unforgettable harmony and tone.
The final breakdown of "Cosmic" reminds me of "One of Us Must Hang" by Khoma
In other words, phenomenal
Your Tshirt, everytime i see "ice nine kills" my brain immediately says "no its nine inch nails" 😂

It reminds me of 'Coming Home' off of HTTK but even better.
