Fantastic response video! Thank you for introducing me to a lot of new artists (To me at least.). Im already enjoying Granddaddy. Keep up the great work. Subbed
Cheers Roland Ramirez! Thank you for taking the time to watch and comment with such encouraging words! Really appreciate it! Hope you'll keep watching and discover more music on this channel. Also, always keen to level up my musical knowledge so if you have a recommendation or two to offer up, don't hold back. And don't assume I would know it or not find it interesting. I hope my videos always reflect the fact that I have a wide interest and taste in music! Best from Tokyo!
Cheers for that too @hurkamur1! We are really lucky to have Rachel and even though she's a total wild card, she's totally the right person for the job. What a personality!
Hey HURK! So chuffed you stopped by the channel to check out on of my vids! I know, can you believe that Lou Reed story? Just unbelievable. There is even a bit more to the story but that's most of it. Of the the extra tidbits was that my amazing beautiful friend Libby, with the most piercing blue eyes was there and Lou asked her "Who are YOU going home with tonight?" and she replied "YOU, Lou. I'm going home with you!" and then her dumb boyfriend pulled her arm back and got all upset about it, and Lou just laughed and sorta smiled and winked at her. Wow, I thought. What a legend. I think I made a video about it actually but I think it's basically the same story: ua-cam.com/video/uRMvY3XsUis/v-deo.htmlsi=7VObu_pdqCWgkIZq Thanks again for dropping by the channel Hurk! See ya on RG soon!
Hey there! Thanks for dropping by the channel, watching this rather long video and leaving a comment! Really appreciate it! Yeah, that Lou Reed story is crazy. Super fun and unforgettable night. I still can't believe it sometimes. I'm subbed up to your channel already but I hope this comment/connection will help the algo feed me more of your content! Thanks again and stay in touch!
@@tokyorecordstyle I’ve subbed so many VC channels this year that I don’t even remember everybody. It was good timing that your video came up last night and I was able to play it all while driving.
@@musicisajourney I can totally relate! I want to know everybody and everybody’s channels but there just isn’t enough time in the day! Hopefully we’ll all get better and the community will co timer to get tighter as the days, weeks, months, and years pass! Thanks again for the attention and encouragement!
May I just thank you again for your enthusiasm, knowledge and spirit! You inspire me to get to know my records, to reach back into the bins , to play and listen and learn. Your vlog is by far the best thing on UA-cam! Thank you!!!!!
Oh my god, thank you so much! That is the nicest compliment. I really REALLY appreciate it. This video actually took me so much effort to make and I knew before I posted it that it wasn't going to get a lot of eyeball or earballs, just cust the nature of the video, but still I wanted to do it and do it just for myself. But to get a comment like this, really when I wasn't expecting much out of it, despite all the effort, it's really validating and Im genuinely grateful. Thank you so much. Hope all is well! XOXO Love from Tokyo!
@@tokyorecordstyle no worries - I’m new to the VC and just posted my 2nd video - my first was last week where I did the summer tag - I’m finding lots of cool channels - cheers - Bobby
Excellent Find! I'm so glad I stumbled into this band! I only wish I was deeper into them sooner along their career so I might have been able to see them once or twice. Hopefully someday I can bump into them. I assume they live here in Tokyo. You just gave me an idea. Maybe I should try to track them down and try to interview them a bit for this UA-cam channel! Enjoy that record!
Great tag! Quite a few artists in the mix I’m not familiar with. Lots of homework for me 😃. I see in the background that you have a copy of the studio one compilation“Oldies but goodies”. I picked up a copy a few years back and quite enjoy it. Some great rocksteady tunes. Cheers
Thanks for watching, Curtis, and thanks for the comment. Oh Damn, I just realized, no reggae on my list! But yes, glad that Oldies but Goodies made a cameo in the background! Takes a lot of though and effort to put these lists together so it's a tall ask for anybody to do, but if you do one, please link me up. And if you have already made one, the algo has not yet fed yours to me. Gonna go check now! All the best from Tokyo. One Love!
I found that Secos and molhados record at a goodwill a few years ago! I still haven’t played it tho because the disc has this hazy residue all over and I’m scared it’s going to ruin my stylus. I’ve heard it was good tho
At the goodwill! What a score! Well done! But yes, hazy residue doesn't sound good. Maybe it's Amazon jungle palm oil or something 🙂 You should do a deep cleaning and get that record on the turntable!
@@tokyorecordstyleI did wet wash it and it’s still there. I think the disc was in a PVC bag when I found it so that may be jt. I just checked on Discogs and they’re apparently not easy to find in the US I guess
Well if you watched this video, you probably saw that my heart-shaped Phoenix Monologue 10" maybe suffered the same fate, but actually it sounds perfectly fine on my turntable. My cartridges are nice but not priceless Shure M44Gs. Shame though that it makes you nervous to play. Hope you get to enjoy it someday! No, I would guess not easy to find at all. Having said that, I think it very recently got a repress I was thinking about getting one, but try to avoid buying the same record twice (though there are a handful of titles I have duplicates of.) Thanks for watching and comments! Really appreciate it! Good luck!
@@Mz-ui good question. Honestly, I’m. not entirely sure. I think it simply implies “supremely excellent” but just in case it meant actually heavy or perhaps heavy on the wallet, I thought I’d just cover all my bases.
