Just wanted to say thank you! I speed skated in my teens...but I’m turning 50 this year and I guess my midlife crisis is wanting to skate again. Got my skates with outdoor wheels and I’m loving it. Your videos have been a godsend since it’s so different from how I skated when I was a teen, and having a partial knee replacement. Just wanted to say thank you and if you’re ever in Tampa Florida I’d love to skate a trail with you 😍

Edges and turns are the backbone of all skating genres, you can never practice them too much. I was doing figure eights on the ice today, the second time back on the ice since I broke my shoulder June 8. I'll be doing them on my PIC skates too since ice time is so much more costly now than before COVID 19 shook us all up. Thank you for the reinforcement and great video content!

I almost did a figure 8 on my first attempt skating outside!
I fell in love with skating in January when a friend invited me to the roller rink. I knew I wanted my own skates. Before they even arrived in the mail I watched a bunch of your videos!
I practiced falling in front of my kids and they thought it was hilarious. I started doing squats.
I adjusted my skates and finally went out to a basketball court. The prep work really paid off! I was so much more comfortable having some goals in mind. Being able to refer back to things you taught (repeating the ‘up & down’ really helped me when I got nervous!) I could feel the edges and started being able to use them.
I was able to turn to the right nicely, but the left was difficult. My right leg would turn left but not my left. I kept trying but nothing worked and that’s when I realized my action nut needed to be loosened!!
I’m so glad I found your videos! I’m in the Inland Empire so as soon as the Fountain Valley Skating Center is re-opened I plan on making a trip over!

Okay, okay, you twisted my arm.
44 years on skates, too many teachers, tutors and peers to mention, and you are my absolute favorite rolling nom nom ever ever EVER. Taking your advice and applying it, even though I "already know what I'm doing" is a fantastic practice tool. I love skating. I accidentally killed about 20 miles this morning (I'll pay for it, I know) and every time I found a wide space on the route, I did my figure 8s. Thank you, Dirty. The two beams of light shooting out of your magical section certainly show the way, but I still prefer to bring up the rear. Ba da boom, ladies first.

For the wheels coming off the ground: maybe your trucks are way too tight. If you grab your front wheels, can you move them? One up, the other down? How about the back wheels? This can be changed by the nut in the middle :)
