    Last week i cooked a 2kg roast beef on mine in the camp oven and the heat was fine and in cold weather. The thing i learnt about it was my camp oven has small legs on it and i had the hole cover open on the stove. Just my experience with it so far.. keep the great vids coming.

      Hi yes they do work and I tried it with the hole open but I'm not very happy with it, for me cooking on it is not the best, and where I was camped it temp was down 1d or less

    Hi Jim, if you can make a wider and tall chimney, the issue with these fire places and the oz pig one is the chimneys are useless, if you can fix that issue mate you will enjoy it much more. The chimney is very important I don’t think many people realise, these things I’m convinced there made more for show because there function is crap , I’d go to a muffler place and replace the chimney with truck muffler pipe, it’s a nice round sized pipe , worth a thought. As always mate good videos . 👍

    • @JimMcNabb44
      @JimMcNabb44  4 роки тому

      Hi yes a bigger pipe would help, I put a new air vent on the front and it seems to work a bit better, when I get time I make a bigger chimney as well nut as something to take camping I think there are better things you can get.

    Cheers Jim i was looking at buying one as they are cheap enough and with a lot of places now not allowing open fires . I thought that would be a good alternative. Looking forward to see if u upgrade it .Please don't be offended but could either turn your back ground music down or don't use it at all , was a tad annoying tbh .keep up the good work mate 👍

      Guys I have bought the oz pig and as far as I’m concerned it’s over rated, the chimney is to short and has no pull , the smoke pores out the front. The cost of the thing is a joke, better to make one yourself out of a empty gas bottle because that’s what they are. You can make a wider and taller chimney like the one in this video, the chimney must be able to pull up the heat, the oz pig fails terribly, I won’t buy another fire place instead I make my own , I even made a fire place out of a old buggard compressor tank , putt legs under it cut one end off put hinges on it for the door and added a nice size chimney , I couldn’t be more chuffed, love it. Give it ago guys have a go at making one , remember the chimney needs to be wide and high for the draught to work .

      @@JimMcNabb44 I need that to close the latch and remove the top lid to expose the flame. It is packed with the chimney. It is easy to rust. I just spray it with 10w40 before I store it back in bag. Easier to assemble the chimney. The build up in your chimney suggest incomplete combustion.
