Adventure Kings Camp Oven/Stove Review

- The Adventure King's Camp Oven/Stove is a portable fire that packs into itself for easy transportation and weighs 10.5 kgs. It was purchased from the 4WD Supacentre for $99. It incorporates a chimney to keep the smoke away from camp and a removable cap to expose flame for cooking however it was difficult to build up enough heat to even boil some water. You will also need to keep the wood up to it regularly as it can burn down quickly. I was using split wood of roughly 5 to 8 cm in diameter. Anything bigger and it wouldn't fit in the door.
But for a small portable fire it's great and could potentially be used in areas that don't permit open fires.

Well I bought this one for $89 mate so definitely cheap. Yeah the little fella likes the cans when I'm finished.

I’m just not clear how you say it doesn’t put out much radiant heat and can’t be relied to cook on....what are you suggesting it is good for?
Not much really. You have to be practically sitting on top of it to get any warmth from it.
Is there much radiant heat from these? Or would you have to sit on it to get any warmth? Keep up the good vids mate
fifahead000 it wasn't overly hot I guess due to the fact that you can only put small pieces of wood in it and it can't build up the thermal mass. I had a pot of water on it the whole time and couldn't get a boil.
I wanted a brew, so I got the cheapie fired up and soon had the zebra billy boiling.
No worries, its cheap but works..
It definitely helps with good wood but you gotta keep stoking it constantly.

It's definitely not a promotion but merely my personal thoughts on the item. As you can see from the review it is quite non-biased. I have not heard of this poor attitude towards Australian businesses but I will definitely look into it. Thanks again for the good feedback. I want to remain supportive of small business.
