- This video documents the story of Wounda, one of the more than 160 chimpanzees living at the Jane Goodall Institute's Tchimpounga Chimpanzee Rehabilitation Center in the Republic of Congo.
Thanks to the expert care provided at Tchimpounga, Wounda overcame significant adversity and illness and was recently relocated to Tchindzoulou Island, one of three islands that are part of the newly expanded sanctuary. Dr. Jane Goodall was on hand to witness Wounda's emotional release, and now you can too.
The Jane Goodall Institute does not endorse handling, interacting or close proximity to chimpanzees or other wildlife. The rescued chimpanzees seen in this video are cared for by trained professionals at JGI’s Tchimpounga sanctuary.
My Goodness, what an inspirational woman. At her 80 th she still continue to save lives and bring light into this world. She is truly an Angel. She is an example of how we all must live our lives.
Love surpasses all adversities…God loves Jane Goodall!!!!
That last hug from Wunda will be her most memorable moment - She just don't know how to thank you - Real touch Jane is real hero
Jane Goodall is a credit to the human race.
What! What!!!!
Look at Wounda how she is with Jane . She knows these women love her and have given their lives to the chimpanzees.I think the hug says everything.
I wish one day I can work with the envroment and actually be able to save animals on the daily. It would make my life complete.

Thank you Jane, for all of the civilized world. You make a difference and must continue doing so. Tears in my eyes are a poor substitute for helping, but many of us can only be with with you in spirit.

Mrs Goodall you are an inspiration to millions in this world , I wish there were many like you, this earth would be definitely a better place to live.
Thanks for all your dedication ,Mrs Goodall the world needs to know more about you and your efforts to protect and save this wonderful primates. This video moved me to tears...
God Bless you Mrs Goodall.
Thank you, Jane.
Jane Goodall is such a bad ass
What a marvelous, touching video! I was so moved and happy for the dear chimp. And what a great heart Jane Goodall is -- look at the beauty in her face! She is surely one of the greatest naturalists of our time.
Chimps express emotion in much the same way that humans do. They'll hold hands, hug, and even kiss to show solidarity and affection. I'm sure Wounda was very grateful to Dr. Goodall and Rebecca for saving her life and giving her back her freedom.
This did not make me cry. This did NOT make me cry. THIS DID NOT MAKE ME CRY!
(...this made me cry)
because of this wannabe sad music or what simp?
What amazing woman she is and when it turn to her and hug her it sure brought tear's to my eye's ......
That was beautiful. I feel like that hug came from all of the animals she's helped throughout her life.

You do us all proud..that was an amazing expression of emotion.
God bless you Jane. You truly represent the best of humanity when protecting the best of our planet, animals. Thank you.
You are an amazing women it would be wonderful if more people appreciated all our species and showed greater understanding.
I've been watching this video for many times now, and still it never fails to amaze me...Beautiful video...
I remember seeing the giant chimp enclosure that Jane Goodall had constructed at Stanford University when I was going to Foothill College and she was just getting started, back around 1971. I didn't know she went to Canada for her Institute. What an incredible inspiration this woman is, now in her 80's and still going strong!
i cried! you're amazing!
bless jane... she's literally dedicated her life to these animals and it's starting to pay off! that hug got to me... shows how much she has cared for them tbh. animals dont lie...
Fantastic, emotional video. Jane Goodall is an amazing woman. The trust Wounda has and Jane's empathy is something we could all do with.
THANKYOU MS. GOODALL, FOR ALL YOU DO FOR THE CHIMPANZEES. I SO GREATLY ADMIRE YOU ND EVERYONE INVOLVED IN THEIR REHABILITATION..BLESS ALL YOU ALWAYS😪🙏🙏🙏
An incredible story of hope and resilience but even more importantly, showing the intelligence of chimpanzees and Wounda's recognition of Dr. Jane Goodall's humanity and compassion.
Miss Jane, you are a saint. What a beautiful touching video. I wonder if they ever saw Wounda again. Tears....it would be hard to say goodbye.
you are amazing, what a clip, what an effort, pure love.....thank you for sharing this...beauty
week ago she was in my university, she talked about her life experience.. amazing !!
How wonderful, to live life with such purpose.
Ceci Lam what a beautiful statement, you're completely right! We must all in our different ways live life with a purpose, if we could at least achieve a tenth of what Ms. Jane Goodall has done for the beautiful animals who we share the planet with we could make the world a better place. ❤️🦌🦍🦏🐘🐐🐏🐅🦈🐋🐬🐢❤️
I most certainly enjoyed this video and it MOST certainly made me cry! I love how loyal and appreciative animals are when they are treated with love and kindness. God bless you Ms. Jane and Wounda enjoy your new life!❤❤❤

April 3rd 2014 Happy birthday, Jane Goodall. Only 80!
Precioso Chimpanse; they look like human, love them.
Jane Goodall = Amazing Lady, humanitarian!!!
still a better love story than twilight ...
Jane Goodall! What can be said about this giant of a woman?
Very cool. The chimp is actually released at 2:37, just in case you wanted to skip the talking. Personally, I wish they left out the dramatic music. Still, very cool. How awesome was the hug? : )
That was touching it longed for freedom.
Namaste Jane Goodall I believe in all of you***
This images should be shown at Davos.
Gosh! my eyes seem to have overflowing problems!
#freeallthechimpanzees
Such dedication
Wonderful touching moment, without Janes research as well as Dian's and Birutė's the world would be a poorer place and these wonderful creatures would be in even greater danger than they are now...thank you
Thanks for your paradigm shifting work in the study of animal behaviour, Jane. Your research has transformed our understanding of chimpanzees without the cruelty that the medical science research establishment (and "psychologists") used before your gentle methods became accepted. There is still too much cruelty in the name of medical science.

God bless kind souls like Jane Goodall for coming to the rescue of animals in need like Wounda. When Wounda genuinely hugged her upon her release, my heart almost burst with joy. It's amazing to know just how similar chimpanzees are to humans. What a beautiful memorable moment for Jane, and for everyone else.
До слёз.... Очень трогательно!
This is so touching :)
shes beautiful
“We patronize the animals for their incompleteness, for their tragic fate of having taken form so far below ourselves. And therein we err, and greatly err. For the animal shall not be measured by man. In a world older and more complete than ours, they are more finished and complete, gifted with extensions of the senses we have lost or never attained, living by voices we shall never hear. They are not brethren, they are not underlings; they are other Nations, caught with ourselves in the net of life and time.”
― Henry Beston
So, so beautiful, this quote and so true.
It took my breath away!
What a GREAT lady!!
I rescued a very young not fledged yet baby Robin once....it's nest had been blown down and it was hypothermic and half-dead.
After 2 days of resuscitation we deemed it able to return to the nest...but it wasnt found by momma-bird. So, we raised it to a strong adolescent full featered bird, capable of flight and finding meal worms on its own in our spare room.
Sad to let it go, but it was time.
Just flew away....nowhere this level of gratitude shown. I am jealous.
Anybody who has been moved by this video let us all donate to this truly worthy cause! Instead of spending our money on things we don't need to survive let us contribute towards some living beings survival.
She’s an angel 👼🏽
I dont know.. something is crawling on my cheeks.. I think its tears... :(

One of the things in my bucket lists is meeting jane. Like prolly top 3 in my list.
Изумительный ролик. Насколько благодарны могут быть животные, не то что некоторые люди.
Someone near me is slicing invisible onions
Love this women.....
Blessings come in many forms but sometimes in the suit of a living angel.....!
made my day...
god bless you
How is it possible that there are 35 dislikes here???
sirleny rodrigues garcia Probably from "humans" who think they are superior to all species. Or think that animal cruelty is a fun sport. Look around what's happening to the world..it's a lost cause and I bow to Jane Goodall for what she's doing. This video shook me to the core. This is a saint if there's any..
Fadi Shraiqi
I've always thought of her as a saint.
Because there are at least 35 ldiots here
if that doesn't make a grown man tear up a little bit i don't know what doesn't... damn onions
God bless Jane Goodall all the days of her life and future lives!! I promise to donate something Jane, I don't know how much I can, but I promise I will. If I could give you a huge donation right now, I would. The same goes to SeaShepard, Greenpeace, NRDC, AntiFurSociety, EvolveCampaigns, Earthjustice and others.
TheraP2014
Don't forget the Center for Biological Diversity and the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust :)
I'll donate a little something very soon. I won't forget. -`❤´-
really touch...
Só do pormenor do agradecimento... deixa-me feliz.
Grande Senhor :)
i watch this video with tears
4:07 I like seeing the matrix of chimps waiting to be released. It shows they are all individuals just like humans. We employ the same video device when we show humans who have died in war or tragedies.
last hug
I'll try to help
This Wii make u cry!
Im gonna try and donate some money to them. Seems like they are doing good work.
Aplausos e lágrimas de emoção!
Wonderful woman...............
incredible woman
Heartmelting beauty. :-)
