Hannah’s ability too predict what’s gonna happen in a film is getting quite scary now. The film barely started and she already called out basically the whole plot twist 😂
@Unwoke649 She called out that he killed himself, and that he wrote the will to the nurse just minutes into the film. They were guesses, but ended up right. Happens a lot. She also guessed the plot twist of Shutter Island, many others too.

My favourite moment of the entire film - literally the first thing that Blanc does when he meets Marta? He looks down at her shoes. It's a super quick little glance, but it's there. They didn't miss a SINGLE detail in this movie, it's so good.
I also love that the dirt footstep that doesn't match Marta's shoe located on the ledge, you can see when she comes back, her foot goes over and doesn't step there. And when you see Ranson come back, he steps on the ledge. So small details in this movie that were done so well. I love this movie and it works so well on a repeat viewing.
Ash was right about the baseball too. If Linda’s husband hadn’t thrown it out the window the dog wouldn’t have picked it up, and then Linda wouldn’t have gone back into the office to return it and find the note. Really excellent screenwriting

We need more modern murder mystery detective movies like this one. One should think the success of this film and the sequel would be a great hint but apparently not.
This movie is so well written, it takes multiple views to catch everything. If you watch careful, you’ll see Blanc look down at Marta’s shoes the first moment he meets her as she steps out onto the porch. In one scene you see a row of brown bottles in Ransom’s house. Later, after the examiners office was firebombed, one is missing. If you watch the shots of Marta and Ransom entering through the secret window, you see Marta step over the window frame, and Ransom steps on it.
And this movie is written and directed by the same guy (Rian Johnson) who wrote and directed The Last Jedi which a lot of people seem to not like at all. Rian also directed a handful of episodes of Breaking Bad including Ozymandias which is one of the most acclaimed episodes of television ever. Given his track record maybe The Last Jedi is better than people are giving it credit for??? Or most likely TLJ and the trilogy in general probably would have benefited from having just one vision for the three films instead of having too many chefs in the kitchen ya know?
@@mcigloo The Star Wars films definitely needed someone overseeing the plot for all 3 films. Someone that wouldn't be swayed by fan comments. Rey being a nobody was way more interesting than Palpatine's granddaughter but the fans complained and we ended up with RoS.
I’m from Texas. Benoit Blanc’s accent is comical yet believable. One occasionally meets an American Southerner with pronounced drawls and slow, measured cadences like Blanc’s, but it would be someone with a memorable accent. Also, Southerners would be more likely than other Americans to have some quirky, home-spun expression like, “Oh, beans”, but I’ve never heard anyone say that in real life.
Having been in texas i met a lot of people who lived in rural texas who had some accents that sounded straight up wild and was like being on the set of a real life cowboy movie. I loved it. Met a girl with the stereotypical southern belle accent and it was just her voice she wasnt like forcing it. I remembered what Harlan said about Ransom, “He plays life like it’s a game without consequences until you can no longer tell the difference between a stage prop and a real knife.” Brilliant foreshadowing! when Marta threw up on Ransom that was actually baby food mixed with water. Knowing that makes it easier to watch. The movie was an homage to Agatha Christie novels. Have you read Agatha Christie? Her works broke the rules of the mystery genre; she became known as The Queen of Crime. Her novels go from 1920-1970s. Actress who played Marta gave a phenomenal performance! Glad they cut away to her reaction to the suicide; the look of horror on her face was outstanding! Like Blanc said, Harlan’s demise was the result of “a tragedy of errors.” When he pointed out how Marta could visually spot the differences between the morphine and the correct medication, he said it so quickly. Needed subtitles for that.
"They're not even bothered that their dad didn't love them, they're just worried about the money" Oh Ash, he did love them, that's why he didn't leave it to them. As much as he knew the girl deserved it and would appreciate it much more, he knew they had gotten what they hadn't deserved all of their lives and didn't appreciate it. Daniel Craig has said that one of the inspirations for his accent was the historian, Shelby Foote. Foote is from Mississippi, but his accent isn’t really much like Benoit’s. ❤ this movie. If I was Marta, I would give each of the kids a couple of million, with the condition that they never ask for more. My only reason is that Harlan had written his will to give everything to Marta, but he didn't plan to die that night. He should have been around for a while longer before the will went into effect. Even though Harlan was cutting his family out of the money, they probably would have benefited financially for a bit longer while he was alive. Oh, and Harlan's mother can stay as long as she wants. I'd hire a full time nurse for her.
Nah, only Meg deserve the help. The other kid doesn't deserve, he even accused her having sex with his grandfather. Meg the only want that help and nice to her everytime.
@@zamhobby9662 I agree that Meg might get a bit extra help on her own (maybe pay for her school), but I meant Harlan's kids - Linda (who wasn't personally being cut off), Walt (who just lost his job and all he seemed to know was publishing his dad's books) and his DIL Joni (who doesn't really deserve anything because she was actively stealing from Harlan, but she's the widow of Harlan's other son and Meg's mother). The other grandkids will have to get money from their parents or fend for themselves.
That might have been my initial idea as well, but the way they reacted to losing the inheritance, calling her names, assuming she fucked her way into the will, then threatening her while "promising" to take care of her, if she gave the money back. I would have paid each one the fare of their voyage home, whether by train, taxi or plane or their own car, in which case I would pay for their gas. And then told them to never contact me again and not come nearer than 50 miles to the estate. And explaining to them that their petty and vicious behaviour caused this decision. That they could each have had an equal share, but that they blew it.
I don't think that the Thromby children NEED any help. Linda owns a successful business, she's doesn't need her father's money, she just wants it. Walt has probably been paid well over the years and owns a home and assets, he can get a position with another publishing house and live on what he has in the interim. Joanie is a popular influencer with a product line, she is broke because she is irresponsible and not because she lacks means. Meg is the only person who needs any help.
I know the deleted scenes *shouldn't* count, but once seen, it is hard to ignore them. Joni and Walt were more desperate for inheritance money than was implied in the released movie. Joni's company FLAM(?) was broke; her products were causing rashes. She had been keeping everything afloat with the money she was skimming from Harlan. Walt had gotten into some bad investments and was even skimming money from the publishing company. He owed money to some bad people and was actually shot in the leg as a warning - the reason for his cane. While Linda may not need the money, Joni and Walt are in big financial trouble.
Daniel Craig’s accent was very controversial. When the movie first came out so many people were asking why he was doing a Coronal Sanders, Yosemite Sam accent. It was talked about almost as the movie.
He had already done a goofy Southern USA character two years earlier in Logan Lucky and I guess that he liked the experience. Given his French name, I am guessing that he was supposed to be from Louisiana, and Craig just spoke however he felt like.
@@AT-rr2xw But Craig (or his character) mispronounced his own (French) name. Is this typical for people from Louisiana? I would like to know as I've always been interested in languages and local dialects. I'm from Austria, so I'm not even a native English speaker but there are so many varieties of English worldwide I'm eager to learn more about.
@@vashsunglasses I guess so but would they also articulate the "c" in "Blanc" (like Craig and the others did) that is supposed to be silent in standard French?
Fun fact: Apple lets filmmakers use iPhone's in their films, under one condition: The villain(s) CANNOT be shown on camera with an iPhone. If you know this fact before hand, you can immediately spot out the culprits. Ransom and Marta. The only two people in the film using Androids. Ofc Marta isn't the villain, in the end. But because she's portrayed in that light in the beginning, she had to use an Android for her scenes with a phone. And there were a few of those lol.
I know that podcasts are overdone these days, but I'm completely serious when I say that you two NEED to start a podcast because your dynamic is so entertaining to listen to. This is the only movie reaction channel I watch where I never skip the intro because you two bickering about random mundane things are always so funny. I would listen to hours of it.
Okay, glass onion was good, but this was a masterpiece. The final 15 minutes of glass onion was really crap. The fire and everything... It was just silly and didn't mesh with the rest of the movie.
Hey guys, I hope you never ask us what is your best reaction because of how hard it would be to answer that? this was so good! IF YOU WANT to check out the sequel *Glass Onion* you might, just might be equally impressed!❤
One of my all time favorites. Seeing this in theaters was amazing especially because I went expecting to see 1917 but that showing got canceled so I saw Knives Out instead (not expecting much) I was absolutely blown away how great this film is. For me it's a 10/10 I can't really think of much that it could have done better.
Liked Daniel Craig’s Southern accent better as ‘Joe Bang’ in “Logan Lucky (2017)” which would be a great heist film reaction for you two. Plot isn’t quite as twisty as this one but has a few of its own plus the character personalities including Craig’s are way over the top. Channing Tatum & Dwight Yoakam (the warden) are the only two actual Southerners in the cast but it’s a really funny movie. Great reaction on Knives Out you two!
Rian Johnson did so much in this movie -- he left little clues and bits of foreshadowing all over the place in the screenplay. My favorite is the point early on when Harlon tells Marta that Hugh can't even tell a real knife from a prop.
Blanc wasn't referring to himself as a machine. He was referring to the thought process he uses. The same process every time, always yielding reliable results, like a machine.
Guys if you like mystery movies I’m sure you will love the prestige! It’s a Christopher Nolan movie about magicians and it is AMAZING. I’m sure you guys will eventually watch glass onion which is also great 👍🏻
I'm so happy you watched this movie. I saw it in theaters and then every time I talked to someone afterward that hadn't seen it, I made them watch it lol. As for Daniel Craig's accent, he gets it right for the most part (like the sounds and pronunciation are there), but it's an exaggerated version, like Foghorn Leghorn. So I wouldn't believe he was southern just because of how comedic it is.
@deanahicks6744 Yeah, I assumed it was one that existed but personally not one I've heard very often, they probably based Foghorn off of *someone* lol. Regardless of the way I find the accent exaggerated, I still think he did a great job and it didn't take me out of the movie or anything. Still really love it.

This has been the best react video of the channel. Ash's symbolisms, Hannah's perception and predictions, Ash teasing Hannah with the sausage and beans, the gwak boink dance, everything about this reaction is amazing 💯💯
I'm so glad that this was an amazing mystery movie that Hannah (with her amazing predictive powers) could still get taken on the ride for. Amazing film, amazing reaction.
As an American, Benoit Blanc's accent in this film is a hilarious over the top southern stereotype. Nobody actually talks like that anymore so it's also really old fashioned. It doesn't match his appearance or personalitly at all which makes it extra funny that Daniel Craig plays it so seriously.
Non-sinusites will never understand the pain and suffering we sinusites have to endure on a daily basis do to our overactive nasal passages. I felt your pain during the intro. Hopefully she will one day come to a place of understanding and tolerance. We're people too. Stay strong my sinus brother! Great video lol!
His accent is a very old version of a southern Louisiana/Georgia maybe accent. I’m from the south and while it’s not an accurate accent commonly used today, it was SOO good, it’s one of Daniel Craig’s best performances.
It is. It's gone onto my list of movies for every occasion. If you're ever sitting around wondering what to watch with a new group of people, and not sure if a movie will tick everyone's box? KNIVES OUT. The Prestige is another one I love for this reason. Draws people in and keeps them invested to the end. Good for all ages. You can watch these with a teenager or your grandma. Intouchables too. French movie. Brilliant lift affirming buddy comedy-drama. Watch it if you haven't.
Don't forget, the family attorney who did the reading of the Last Will and Testament is legendary voice actor Frank Oz. Also known as the voice of Miss Piggy, Animal, and Fozzy the Bear from the Muppets. And the voice of the Cookie Monster, Bert, and Grover from Sesame Street. And last but not least: Yoda, yes.... THE Yoda, from Star Wars.
at the end when Ransom grabbed the fake knife he didnt know cuz like what Harlem said earlier with Marta "Ransom doesnt know the difference between a real knife and a fake one" and another reference thats from earlier that some people missed out on with Harlems daughter she says "Me and my father had a secret way of communicating with each other" and thats the same paper that she lights up at the end which is a "secret" letter this movie is truly amazing on a second watch through you really can catch on to the little hints throughout the movie that you dont the first time you watch it, truly a 10/10 masterpiece.
also one other thing is Blanc tells Marta at the end about the blood on her shoe he actually throws her a hint early when its dark outside and hes talking to her he says "the game is a foot" or something like that.
Dialect experts believe that the modern Southern accent was derived from the British Accent of early settlers. That's why it so easy for British Actors and Actresses to do Southern accents (like Vivian Leigh in Gone with the Wind). Consecquently it is easier for people with a Souther Accent to do a British Accent.
That feeling of giving up is definitely relatable. Sometimes you realize how much tissue can be gone through and it's like wow, enough for a second, please.

No, Daniel Craig's southern accent was insane. It was dancing all over the place. It's fun, and has become indicative of him, and I will overlook it for more of the character, but the accent he uses in this is bonkers.
No one: Not a soul in the world: Ashkan and Hannah: SYMBOLISM!!!!! I loved your reaction 😂 I've come across your channel a few times before and I'm so glad the algorithm brought me back!
Finding out years later that Harlan is the sad from sound of music really shocked me. This man was in two of Mt favorite movies ever and I didn't know his name until after his death
The symbolisms are symbolizing! I think that Daniel Craig was doing an upper-class Louisana Cajun accent. It's a pretty rare dialect though, so it tends to sound "off" even if he's doing it well.
I thought I loved Ash because of his carefree chill attitude, then I popped over to Hannah's channel and your girl is out there popping too. Couple goals is great success!!
Never see it on most knives out reactions but I love that the guy that reads the will is Frank Oz Voice of Yoda in Starwars, and a pretty fine comedic director. He also does a bunch of Muppet character work for some projects. Just a cool cameo no one seems to notice
There are many varities of souther accents, Blanc's accent is a caricature of the deep southern accent (ex: Georgia). Youd probably have to go a long way to find someone who talks like that, especially nowadays. At this point the accent is a relic, which is probably why its inclusion in film feels so fun!
You guys, this was the funnest reaction I have ever watched. Not just from your channel, not just of this movie, but of any reaction ever. I watch a lot of reactions, so that's saying a lot! Keep up the great work! PS I had to Google "is funnest a word?" lest Ash give me shit 😂
Craig was doing a Deep Southern (South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, and Louisiana; basically) accent, and it was not necessarily bad, but extremely over the top to the point that it reminded me of the Looney Toons character Foghorn Leghorn. It's interesting because a lot of the times when actors do accents they go the opposite direction with it, trying to do the subtlest version of the accent so as to expose themselves to the least amount of criticism. For better or worse, Craig went for it. It works because the character is larger than life, a la Captain Jack Sparrow.

His accent was a deep south accent from a different Era. No one has had that accent in 50+ years. But I love it
I love old school deep south accents.
His accent is much like older teachers I had in Alabama in the 1980s. It’s an affluent accent from the era. Not redneck.
He spoke one of the southern American accents, it was spot on.
@@tubekulose Louisiana French (Cajun) is different from the type of French spoken in France or in Quebec (Quebecois).
So HAPPY you guys are pumping out new videos! This will make your channels literally sky-rocket - keep at it!
They upload to UA-cam like once a week
Knives Out is a love letter to the classic murder mysteries and whodunnit
Watching Hannah break this movie down in real time was something else. You better not step a toe out of line Ash lol.
I'm glad you liked this so much! In my opinion Glass Onion is even better, hope you'll react to that one as well!
Okay, glass onion was good, but this was a masterpiece. The final 15 minutes of glass onion was really crap. The fire and everything... It was just silly and didn't mesh with the rest of the movie.
I agree
@@progunliberal best part of the movie wdym
yess! tbh I wasn't that big a fan of knives out but glass onion was so good
Glass onion sucked, I had the killer predicted literally 2 seconds after he died. It basically rips off several Agatha Christie books...
Hey guys, I hope you never ask us what is your best reaction because of how hard it would be to answer that? this was so good! IF YOU WANT to check out the sequel *Glass Onion* you might, just might be equally impressed!❤
Knives out is absolutely amazing. Its so clever and well written. I'm glad you guys finally watched it:)
“man’s taken all his fish oils” had me dying 😂😂😂
Rian Johnson did so much in this movie -- he left little clues and bits of foreshadowing all over the place in the screenplay. My favorite is the point early on when Harlon tells Marta that Hugh can't even tell a real knife from a prop.
Blanc wasn't referring to himself as a machine. He was referring to the thought process he uses. The same process every time, always yielding reliable results, like a machine.
"even his painting doesn't trust his son." 🤣😂
I have heard men speak with that exact accent to a T 😂 and these were older gentlemen. That’s what made it for me that great acting 🎭
You guys are awesome 😎 y’all are the best at movie reactions because you get invested into the movie like we do, you ask questions like we do and you try to solve the questions like we do and most importantly you enjoy the movie like we do. You guys are the most relatable reactors on UA-cam 💯🤘🏼
You two need a reality show ASAP, i will definitely tune in
Not Ash wiping his snot under the pillow bruhhh hahaha
Yesss Hannah 11:30 call it out. He isn't fooling anyone lmao 😂
23:10 Goddammit man! magnifying glass! 🤣🤣🤣
You two are the best reactors on UA-cam. Love your personalities and banter.
You guys would love ready or not! Its a thriller / action but also has amazing twists
This entire reaction was just so much fun to watch from start to finish 😆
As an American, Benoit Blanc's accent in this film is a hilarious over the top southern stereotype. Nobody actually talks like that anymore so it's also really old fashioned. It doesn't match his appearance or personalitly at all which makes it extra funny that Daniel Craig plays it so seriously.
One of the greatest reactions ever to one of the greatest movies ever
I can't wait how Hannah reacts to the House lmao such a great movie
Non-sinusites will never understand the pain and suffering we sinusites have to endure on a daily basis do to our overactive nasal passages. I felt your pain during the intro. Hopefully she will one day come to a place of understanding and tolerance. We're people too. Stay strong my sinus brother! Great video lol!
@Raga… a great movie choice! Get them to react to Ready or Not! This was fun! 💚💚
His accent is a very old version of a southern Louisiana/Georgia maybe accent. I’m from the south and while it’s not an accurate accent commonly used today, it was SOO good, it’s one of Daniel Craig’s best performances.
This movie is actually perfect. Loved seeing you react to this!
THANK YOU FOR REACTING TO THIS. ITS MY FAVORITE MOVIE EVER I SWEAR
Bro, you two are fucking amazing, Hannah gets the twist immediately but Ash catches the reveals faster than anyone!
"He's taken all his fish oils!" 😂
You guys are going to freaking love Glass Onion.
I really liked Glass Onion, but thought this one was better.
@@YepNahand I think maybe glass onion is better
@@xavvi Fair, they're both great 😁
Don't forget, the family attorney who did the reading of the Last Will and Testament is legendary voice actor Frank Oz. Also known as the voice of Miss Piggy, Animal, and Fozzy the Bear from the Muppets. And the voice of the Cookie Monster, Bert, and Grover from Sesame Street. And last but not least: Yoda, yes.... THE Yoda, from Star Wars.
If you like mystery comedies, you'll love "Confess, Fletch" (2022). The grin never left my face.
at the end when Ransom grabbed the fake knife he didnt know cuz like what Harlem said earlier with Marta "Ransom doesnt know the difference between a real knife and a fake one" and another reference thats from earlier that some people missed out on with Harlems daughter she says "Me and my father had a secret way of communicating with each other" and thats the same paper that she lights up at the end which is a "secret" letter this movie is truly amazing on a second watch through you really can catch on to the little hints throughout the movie that you dont the first time you watch it, truly a 10/10 masterpiece.
also one other thing is Blanc tells Marta at the end about the blood on her shoe he actually throws her a hint early when its dark outside and hes talking to her he says "the game is a foot" or something like that.
Between this and Jojo Rabbit- my favorite two movies of the last ten years- 2019 was a very good year for films.
Ash we would love to see you and Hannah react to some James Bond movies👑
Loved this reaction! It’s mad how it’s a murder mystery film yet you see what happens at the start of the film so you think you know the twist but there’s a doughnut hole inside that doughnut hole 😅 would love to see you guys react to Austin powers movies at some point!
Фильм просто офигенный. Шикарный детективный фильм. Обожаю этот фильм.👍
You both are the best. I don't watch other movie reaction videos. Watching you both is like sitting down with family.💕💕💕💕💕
It’s a pleasure to have you on our channel mate
Many thanks to Ashkan & Hannah! Sorry to hear about your illness, Ashkan. If you're gonna wipe snot on the sheet, don't do it under your pillow! Do it on the side of the bed, where you're not liable to touch it. And, by all means, wash your hands before touching Hannah. 🔪 Kudos to brilliant writer/director Rian Johnson.
It's bittersweet seeing the great Christopher Plummer now. A brilliant actor and an amazing character
No, Daniel Craig's southern accent was insane. It was dancing all over the place. It's fun, and has become indicative of him, and I will overlook it for more of the character, but the accent he uses in this is bonkers.
No one:
Not a soul in the world:
Ashkan and Hannah: SYMBOLISM!!!!!
I loved your reaction 😂 I've come across your channel a few times before and I'm so glad the algorithm brought me back!
ok, Ill admit, you guys had me laughing when Hannah was doing the bonk dancing.
Man's taken all his fish oils.🤣
Finding out years later that Harlan is the sad from sound of music really shocked me. This man was in two of Mt favorite movies ever and I didn't know his name until after his death
The symbolisms are symbolizing!
I think that Daniel Craig was doing an upper-class Louisana Cajun accent. It's a pretty rare dialect though, so it tends to sound "off" even if he's doing it well.
It was an old Southern accent with a bit of Foghorn Leghorn. That cartoonish touch made it fun, even though nobody really talks exactly like that.
Ash: Is your name Hannah LeBlanc?
Hannah: No, it's Detective Hannah Sommerset 😂😂
I thought I loved Ash because of his carefree chill attitude, then I popped over to Hannah's channel and your girl is out there popping too. Couple goals is great success!!
The name of the show was murder she wrote and the characters name was Jessica Fletcher.
The word you were looking for was monocle.
Earlier in the film Harlan says Ransom wouldn’t “able to tell a real knife from a stage prop.” He was right!
Never see it on most knives out reactions but I love that the guy that reads the will is Frank Oz
Voice of Yoda in Starwars, and a pretty fine comedic director.
He also does a bunch of Muppet character work for some projects. Just a cool cameo no one seems to notice
Oh nicee! Finally gonna be on time for one!
I think Benoit Blanc is my favorite Daniel Craig character, sorry James Bond!
Yeah, but also Daniel Craig as JOE BANG in the movie LOGAN LUCKY. Perfection.
@@atomicwest995Logan Lucky has my absolute favourite Adam Driver performance too, that film is ridiculously fun
He might be Daniel Craig's favorite character, and he is not sorry to James Bond.
A 30yr old man wiping his snot on the bed sheets is next levelllllllll
I’m almost spit out my tea!
Look at Nana!, she survived all the wars and dated Rasputin 🤣😂
There are many varities of souther accents, Blanc's accent is a caricature of the deep southern accent (ex: Georgia). Youd probably have to go a long way to find someone who talks like that, especially nowadays. At this point the accent is a relic, which is probably why its inclusion in film feels so fun!
a british person who doesn't just not like baked beans, but they genuinely gross you out?! I can't imagine how difficult your childhood must have been
The accent was Cajun, from Louisiana.
"Is your name Hannah Lablanque?!?" Absolutely hilarious xD
Craig was doing a Deep Southern (South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, and Louisiana; basically) accent, and it was not necessarily bad, but extremely over the top to the point that it reminded me of the Looney Toons character Foghorn Leghorn. It's interesting because a lot of the times when actors do accents they go the opposite direction with it, trying to do the subtlest version of the accent so as to expose themselves to the least amount of criticism. For better or worse, Craig went for it. It works because the character is larger than life, a la Captain Jack Sparrow.
Watch the sequel/2nd Knives Out film! It's called "Glass Onion"!!
She's just intelligent as hell, probably even not realizing how smart she is.
I'm from Mississippi and Daniel Craig did a great job with the accent. I know some people from the Deep South that speak just mnemonic that
"Millions?!? You wish!!" 🤣🤣🤣 Hannah has me dying!!
