Been browsing thru your vids, one thing that me and few of my pals could use help with is how to do reversals. Would be awesome to get some tips on that for props
That is a super difficult subject to tackle, but I'll definitely keep it in my mind and try to craft up a way to present it. What I find is that defensive flying is so very subjective. It's mostly a mind game with the opponent to try and not do what they think you're going to do. I have one kind of "clean" video that really breaks down my defensive process and has me narratingn the thought process live. It's old and it didn't turn out like I wanted to, but it does kind of show a bit of what you're after: ua-cam.com/video/ZXVVPrZdTcg/v-deo.htmlsi=8YXrAfXUvcrRqD_6 What I usually try to do is start by creating some oblique angles. Everyone can hit a straight on shot most days, fewer people can score snap deflections. So when the enemy has guns on, High AoA rolling pulls will help get you out of their sights. USE YOUR RUDDER TO ROLL! Next, I want to create compression. If the enemy is behind me, I want to keep some of my energy but start shedding what I can spare to get them to overshoot. I usually do level S turns or a series of rolls to deny the enemy a gun solution while the compression has time to take effect. Once the enemy has realize we are compressing, you may notice them start trying to slow down or pull high to stay behind you. If they slow down, that is when I usually start dumping flaps and turning it into a rolling stall fight... see who has better Stick and Rudder skills as we make the planes start spoiling air as much as we can. If they pull high to set up for my six again, I will pull super hard into their breaking direction to stay in their blind spot and use a dive to pick up speed. Try to get into ground clutter to make your enemy lose sight. Once they get to the apex of their climb, try not to pull so hard anymore so your wings don't leave the vortexes (makes you really easy to see against ground) Better to hope he lost sight of you and slowly sneak back up than to try and go for the one circle while he still has an energy advantage. But beyond all that....the MOST important button to press is the "Cover Me" command. You'll notice I am pressing cover me nearly the ENTIRE time during the fight.... and wouldn't you know it... my team showed up to help me!
Nice Ace Ventura style parking " LIKE A GLOVE "😂
