Nice video thanks for the ideas I have a few parts stashed away right now I’m going to look for the electric fans to swap I also found a sway bar I’m going to put on I also have dodge Dakota taillights they make the rear of the truck look more sporty in my opinion they are about 1/2 inch smaller but screw right on the truck with no modifications Have you ever ran in to a problem where the rear brakes will drag with it rain iv adjusted them in and it has no effect I was thinking maybe it could be the brake portioning valve maybe messed up everything is original besides the basic parts that go bad over 40 years
The brake proportioning valve or junction block. Whatever you want to call it. They can sometimes have build up the collects in them and there is they're very simple devices. There's only like a couple of springs in there and a piston with some o-rings on it and then there's some o-rings on the plugs that plug it off because usually most of them have like one or two holes that they don't use on specific applications. You can take that unit off that proportioning valve. You can take it all apart and take out the piston. Clean it out. And lots of times they'll start working perfectly. Like I said, there's not much to them. They're very very simple the Dakota tail lights I have never even heard of that actually though, that sounds like a nice idea. Worth trying. I may try that on one of my other Dodge trucks also make sure your rear brakes. The drum brakes are nice and clean, free of mud dirt and most of the dust that collects in there. Also, be sure to check your brake hoses. If they haven't been replaced in a long time, they can cause brakes to drag. I'm talking about there's three hoses on most of the Dodge trucks like mine. There's two in the front one for each caliper and then there's one in the rear that goes from the frame down to the rear axle I hope this helps. If there's any other questions feel free to ask. Thank you for watching
I really appreciate you taking the time to share your knowledge on these trucks. I have an 88 d100 that i'd like to put that non-step rear bumper on. Where did you get it? Is that the one from LMC? Mine has a plastic roll pan someone before me put on so I'm sure i'll have to find brackets. Any recommendations on finding brackets or do you think they'll have to be custom? Thanks
First of all, thank you very much for watching the video. I really seriously appreciate it. The rear bumper you're talking about is a non-step rear bumper and mine came from a local place in Knoxville, Tennessee that used to sell bumpers and body parts. I think they got bought up and I don't remember what their name was that was in like 2003 2004 2002. Something like that the bumper brackets. I bought brand new from a Dodge dealer in Knoxville Tennessee. Jim Cogdill Dodge now however, in your case you might be able to use bumper brackets from a ram charger. I don't see why you couldn't. They are different than the bumper brackets for a step bumper so I in your case I would be looking on LMC truck to possibly get their non -step rear bumper and I would be looking pretty far and wide in a lot of junk yards everywhere and I would also cast out a pretty wide net maybe even on Facebook marketplace eBay even they're still some good stuff to be had on there as well and in your area get with other Mopar people. See if they know of anybody that's going any Dodge trucks and see what they have on there for bumper brackets. Most likely a lot of them are going to be step bumpers, but you will see a few smooth bumpers non-step bumpers. I basically if I were in your case I would leave no stone unturned as far as finding the bumper and the bumper brackets, especially the bumper brackets. So I hope that helps. If you have any other further questions let me know. Thank you very much
Are you still planning on putting the 318 or 360 (I forgot which one) in this truck? And how did the mods for the LA to magnum timing chain cover and accessories turn out? ( I'm not sure but I may have missed the last vid on that.) Again, thanks for taking the time to share all this! 👍😁
First of all thank you for watching and I will be putting the 360 in the that truck. My d150 and the 318 will be going into the barracuda that is the $50 three team. That is the same one that I'm mocking up. All of the Magnum timing cover too. I'm mocking all of that up on that engine just so I can make sure I got the belt alignment correct and everything like that as of right now i haven't started that engine up with that serpentine belt system on it. So it's but I will be doing that in the future hopefully very soon
what do you get for mileage with this truck, I bet pretty good, didn't know they made magnum v6. Would have been nice to hear exaust, maybe in the future, thanks!!
My apologies for the email not working. If you want to try and put the pictures in the comment section I will be glad to have a look at the pictures and try to tell you anything I know about the carburetor or any information I may have
